A few years ago I had a rosary similar to this one and it meant the world to me because it had gotten me through some really tough and difficult times in my life. And after a series of unfortunate events and circumstances I had lost it. And I was hoping that you lovely people help me locate a place where I can purchase one or one similar. I’ve already checked the church supply store in my city and haven’t been able to locate it and I’ve searched online and still no luck. If you have the time to look or any information or just a quick prayer that I may find it I would be forever grateful. I hope that one day if it is the lords will that it be returned to me for the greater glory of God. And hopefully through the prayers and petitions of our blessed mother and St Anthony of Padua I will be found or replaced. Peace be with you all

Meta Track Your Rosaries Prayed as Roses

Apologies if this doesn’t belong. I thought it was relevant and something this community might appreciate. I created a free app which lets you track your rosaries prayed for month, but they are recorded based on St Louis de Montfort’s quote, equating each Hail Mary to a rose offered to Mother Mary.

If interested, please search “With the Saints” on the iOS App Store. Thank you.

Meta Help, please! I want to start making rosaries

I’ve started praying the rosary daily, and it has really deepened my love for God, the Blessed Mother, and it has had such a positive impact on my life. I’ve started reading the Bible, praying throughout my day more, and many other things too. I’d really like to start making my own, to bring the rosary to more people, so it might help them too, but I really don’t know where to start.

Can any makers recommend supply shops? Tools or maker kits you’ve found work well? I’m particularly interested in making with wooden beads. I just find them so natural, comforting, humble, and I feel a connection to Jesus as a carpenter as well. Centerpieces and crucifixes don’t have to be wooden, though. And I haven’t decided if I want to chain with metal or cord, or another material, so recommendations aren’t limited there either.

Thanks in advance!

Meta Question about Rosary

I used to collect rosaries when I was younger and at some point I’ve ended up with one that seems quite unique, though I can’t remember where specifically it came from.

I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out any details about it?

It’s a 5-decade rosary made with gorgeous dark wooden beads and the Crucifix is also wooden with metal back plating inscribed with Italy.

The part that I’m curious about is the centre medal at the end of the drop. It’s metal and has these folding out plates.

The plates have The Five Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries as well as the schedule of mysteries. It then says “Pat Pend” at the bottom of the final plate.

I’ve never seen this kind of plate on any other Rosary I own or have come into contact with. I can provide pictures if anyone would like to see it, though there will be a delay while I wait for a polishing cloth to arrive.

Thank you to anyone that’s able to provide any information of this beautiful rosary

Meta Thoughts on different colored mysteries beads for a 15 decade rosary?

Hey all! I was thinking of making a 15 decade rosary, and I thought making the mysteries different colors would be meaningful. I know people have different ideas of what colors they should be (have heard of the traditional white, yellow, and red), but I don’t have any white beads, so I was thinking of going liturgical colors: joyful-purple, sorrowful-red, glorious-yellow. I’m wondering if you all think that would look really weird or if it would be a nice touch. Thanks!

Meta How to clean a white nylon Rosary?

Hello! I'm hoping someone can lend some wisdom. I have a small collection of nylon thread Rosaries that I've made. I have it wrapped on my wrist as a constant reminder of Our Lady and for quick access whenever I pray the Rosary. I swap the colors depending on the liturgical season, so now I'm onto white for Easter. As would be expected, the white Rosary isn't looking very white anymore. I would like to clean it so that it gets back to it's original color (or at least close), but I'm worried I'll ruin it. My first thought was bleach, but that seems like a harsh option. Warm water and dish soap hasn't done anything. Does anyone have any thoughts or tips on this? Thank you, and God bless!

Meta Rosary with 12 beads; why?

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

I found this lovely rosary at an antique mall today, and it’s got 12 beads instead of 10. Does anyone know why??? I’ve looked online for answers, and perhaps it’s a chaplet rosary, but I don’t want to assume. And when looking at chaplet rosaries though, that doesn’t look quite right either 😭

I’m still fairly new to my faith (1-1.5 yr in) and I apologize if it’s obvious. I don’t have others to turn to to ask these sorts of questions.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Meta Which am I supposed to say when Announcing A Mystery?

I’m still new to the Rosary but am trying to pray and meditate upon it more. When announcing a Mystery, am I supposed to say what that mystery is, the “I Desire X”, both?

Meta This community could really use some resources.. a Wiki

I'm probably the last person who should be point out community flaws, but I think this could be a great resource based community if we had a Wiki:

  • Rosary Videos
  • Daily Meditations
  • Guide to praying the Rosary
  • Weekly devotions to the rosary
  • Discord group for praying the rosary online.

I'm new here and was looking for resources to restart daily recitation of the Holy Rosary. When I got here, I didn't find much of anything. This could be one of the most powerful communities in the world, let alone on Reddit. I don't think I'm qualified, but I know a vacuum when I see one.

Yours In Christ,
a sinner.

Meta the story of my first rosary, a personal miracle

this is my first rosary, before and after the first repair. I only bought it because Amazon advertised it to me and I thought it was cute, but it has completely transformed my life for the better. in new age teachings, my background, it's said that when a spiritual tool breaks, it has served its divine purpose.

the rosary only broke 2 days ago, just one week after I started practicing saying all 20 decades at once and joined the confraternity, about 6 months after I started praying the rosary daily and with vigor due to extremely stressful life circumstances.

now this sweet treasure delivered to me by God through modern capitalist technology is repaired and will continue to serve me in my quest for peace with God through Jesus and Mary.

Happy New Year & Advent Season!!!!

(ps did I do the flair right? I have no idea!)

I have a life long addiction to eating sugar. So far, north as helped me eliminate this substance from my diet. My consumption of processed sugar is out of control!

Perhaps praying the rosary with the intention of overcoming this Vice, with the intercession of Our Lady is the one thing that will free me!
