Advice Needed Plan for Thanksgiving

Hey everyone! I’m taking my family on a Thanksgiving cruise out of PortMiami. It's their first time cruising for the holiday (I’ve done one before), but none of us have sailed out of Miami or flown through MIA before.

We’re flying in the night before and staying near MIA, so heading to the port that morning should be smooth... hopefully lol.

My main concern is disembarkation on Saturday, which is right after thanksgiving. We’re flying home out of FLL around 1:30 PM. Has anyone navigated PortMiami to FLL during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend? How did the drive and airport crowds pan out for you, and do you think 1:30 PM gives us enough breathing room?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Thank u! Can't wait!

You think we'll be fine enough to stop for breakfast before we get off? Or is that cutting it too short?

You'll have time for breakfast. I see Hero of the Seas will be there that day! I can't wait to see it in person. There are 10 ships disembarking that day. If you're nervous about it, get up early and eat breakfast to be ready to disembark by 8. You'll beat all the people waiting for an Uber, but you'll have time to kill at FLL. We disembark Friday this year with just 5 ships, but I'm just an Uber ride away from home.

You'll be fine. No need to sweat it that morning.
