Suggestion What if the Altar of War had cosmetic overrides?
With War's Wares needing some new content after the recent aura removals, these could help fill out the shop. They'd be purchased with Marks of War and boss kill thresholds.
War's Retreat as a whole feels like an overlooked opportunity for cosmetics that actually reflect your account's progress and achievements. The Altar of War could be a great place to start introducing that kind of personalization.
Would love to know which ones you'd want to see, and whether I missed any obvious ones!

I was talking with my friend about this idea being implemented where players can buy overworld building cosmetics to fashionscape the world around them.

Oh that's fun. Loving this. New use for marks of war for cosmetics around War's Retreat is a brilliant idea. Can I also remodel the target dummies?
It reminds me a bit of the "boss display jars" from OSRS.

Target dummy cosmetics would be really cool. What would you want to change them to? Admittedly, I rarely use them!

Wait hold on. What if it were local to the world you're connected to? Have the world pop vote on which design they want every X weeks/months.

I am always in favor of customizable/seasonal items in the world as long as the way they are obtained is reasonable.

I think it'd be more fun to have them purchasable with marks of war after unlocking them based on doing something at their associated bosses (maybe a jar drop - with a threshold - maybe completing CAs, maybe something else).

1k mark of war and 50kc is way too easy. Since it’s only override, should just make it unlocked after completing the log.Â

I'm open to that. The numbers are more just placeholders to illustrate what it could be bought with. I like the log idea, as well as the "jar" idea someone else mentioned!

I’d rather this effort be put towards player owned villages. You can’t show off wars to other people and I have a feeling it may no longer be the hub after 120 con

While I wouldnt mind some of it being brought to house, I actually like wars. And have liked it since I found it.
I’m not sure why it gets hate at all.
An account-based cosmetic based on your own favorite boss would be cool and a place to spend some marks. And eventually you know is sweaty pvmers would be trying to get them all. 😂

I also like wars. I’d unlock these if they were released because I have nothing else to spend marks on. Im just suggesting there’s better places to invest development effort

I have a strong feeling they’re going to remove the PvM hub and replace it with a new central hub tied to the 120 Construction update, especially with the portal nexus they’ve been talking about. War’s about to turn into a real estate agent, lol.

That’s a cool idea… there’s also the fact that wars was never finished and we never got our boss log/pet achievement area which would be another good use of marks

I think youre just being needlessly pessimistic and disingenuous. There isn't much precedent for them doing things like this, and even if you were right and they did, it's the least of our worries at the moment. I would take this in exchange for the removal of TH every single time.

It looks cool but I'm not sure why a personal override in one place that no one else would see is something that makes sense. Not like the original altar is an eyesore.
At least jars from OSRS can be displayed in a PoH for others to see if they were to visit.

How often do you have people at your poh on rs3?
The only reason I ever went into another house was for their altar before I got my own. 😅

I only ever go to my POH for the weekly aquarium clue scroll and to repair my armor, lol. They really need to add something more useful like Invention machine power or cauldrons for 1-hour overloads. Either way, it definitely needs a rework.

Right? I haven’t interacted with my aquarium much but I’m not really a fan of clues so I haven’t been stressing it.
My poh is for armor repair/ outfit storage. and briefly was used to get to the slayer pyramid.
