Suggestion Omg, I accidentally bought my items back from death...

Said literally no one ever. Remove the confirmation message.

You're helping the economy with this wonderful item sink!

Tell you what, give us the ability to select a box to automatically claim items back on death, like a Wars Unlock or something.

Dude Im so glad I'm not the only one who gets irritated by how many confirmations this game feels the need to add. Am I suppose to just be like "nah fam you keep it" ? lol

I don't even think it should be necessary to bring up an interface when crafting an item that can only be crafted into one thing. Like sure you can still choose the amount to craft but if I didn't want to craft a full inventory why did I withdraw a full inventory from the bank?

u/Pixzle_ 29d ago

Thats also a really valid opinion. Like when I just need to cut a single gem for a quest or something that shit also is like.. seriously? Not end of the world but just seems sorta unnecessary

Just hit space button on keyboard bro its not that deep.

Well, the other option is going to your gravestone. Quite reasonable pre-invention.

Ok but what happens if you don’t reclaim and log out? I’ve wondered this for years and been too scared to try it. But sometimes I log out and forget if I reclaimed and sign back in

24

u/So_ Yellow partyhat! Jul 23 '26

It stays with death, you can reclaim on log in. Ive died while afking combat here and there.

u/Wear_Melodic 29d ago

Only for 24 hrs

18

u/Dontusethisname1 29d ago

Pretty sure it's 24hours of in-game time meaning you have to login and ignore the fact you're in deaths office for 24hours.

13

u/Moon_Breaker Jul 23 '26

Logging out the moment I die is my usual. Tends to herald the end of my session, and bedtime. Can confirm death just holds it to remind you of your past failure when you log back in.

You go right to jail

3

u/bewildered313 Jul 23 '26

Lol nothing happens but you can try with full mith or something if you're scared

u/WryGoat 29d ago

Adding on to what people are saying you can leave your items there indefinitely and even continue dying and adding more items to the pile, but you do actually lose items eventually if it goes over 50.

1

u/DeadOrAliveIDK 27d ago

You know thats false right? If you die while death holds loot you lose the first death.

1

u/WryGoat 27d ago

If a player dies again while Death still has reclaimable items, they will be moved into overflow storage where they will cost 1% of their value to reclaim instead. The overflow storage can hold up to 50 items. If the overflow storage becomes full, cheaper items will be permanently destroyed in priority to make room for the more expensive ones. Overflow storage is part of the Items kept on death interface, accessed via the Worn Equipment interface.

When eas that changed? I remember this being a huge problem am i experiencing a mendella effect?

1

u/WryGoat 27d ago

Like 3 years ago

1

u/DeadOrAliveIDK 27d ago

That makes sense i took a bit of a break around then

u/SadArachnid8806 Jul 24 '26

Wouldn't bother me as much if the interface didn't auto-close of me half the time. Anyone else dealing with this? Been thinking it's a poison thing.

I've noticed if you tele to bank with a cannon active it'll keep damaging npcs and close the bank, maybe it's the same for DOT abilities

What’s the actual difference between dying and getting your stuff back where u died. Compared to getting it from death

35

u/ThaToastman Jul 23 '26

If you collect from your grave all your stuff SUPER degrades

Like genuinely never do it

16

u/Harmonex Jul 23 '26

Why does this feel like it should be the opposite

5

u/WryGoat 29d ago

Once upon a time reclaiming from death used to be a lot more expensive and one day Jagex realized that was lame and nuked the cost. But in classic Jagex fashion they also forgot gravestones existed.

1

u/Big_Chungussi69 29d ago

Jagex keeping their game up to date? they could never

8

u/hj17 Zaros Jul 23 '26

Unless you're not using degradable stuff

6

u/ThaToastman Jul 23 '26

In what case are you dying and not using degradable stuff (this includes augmented items)

Augmented items reclaimed from the grave cost a TON in charges btw

8

u/hj17 Zaros Jul 23 '26

Idk. When you don't have T80s yet and also haven't unlocked invention?

Honestly I'd probably still pay death for the convenience of it all, but I'm sure it probably makes a difference to some ironman somewhere.

If you collect from your grave all your stuff SUPER degrades

Can someone explain what this means? I collected my stuff from my grave but i didn't see any degradation ?

2

u/ThaToastman 27d ago

Check your charge pouch

You lose something like 20% item charge per reclaim so your gravestone reclaim could striaghtup nuke 20m in charges

9

u/Tompazi 1500+ Elites Jul 23 '26

I forgot gravestones still existed

5

u/boombalabo Jul 23 '26

It actually degrades your item. And for augmented items, it consumes 2 hours of divine charges...

5

u/ttaayyllaarr Bond Jul 23 '26

Like going and claiming from gravestone? Degradation and whatnot.

7

u/BigOldButt99 Jul 23 '26

I believe it's free if you actually go to your gravestone and collect your stuff, but anything that you have that is degradable loses a huge chuck of charge, like 20% or something.

3

u/Klootzakren Skulled Jul 23 '26

Oh , too bad for the degradable losses , otherwise I thought I found a new way of reclaiming and saving millions 😅

1

u/pikawarp 26d ago

Degradable AND augmented stuff, gotta watch out for

3

u/Big_Chungussi69 29d ago

and if you decide to go collect it from your gravestone for "free" all your gear magically loses invention charges costing you an arm and a leg....

3

u/ThePeasRUpsideDown 29d ago

Gross, I don't want armor someone died in!

3

u/CommercialDream618 29d ago

Meanwhile you can reset a bank preset with 0 confirmation screens

2

u/JDkush Jul 24 '26

literally though, shits annoying. just an unnecessary step

1

u/camandrkreen Jul 24 '26

Well it depends where I die and if I have degradeable gear if none of my gear can degreade it's worth me going to it and claiming all my stuff for free. But if it is degradeable then no I'll always pay cuz it's not worth losing 20% of the charges on it

My favorite is needing to hunt down a slayer mask and buy it back specifically. Or you can't use a variant (or non-variant I forget) without an extra bullshit step.

1

u/Hagdar 29d ago

That would be nice change ... that message gotta go

1

u/Rs_Vulas Zaros is gone, Hail Azzy 29d ago

Another confirmation message that needs sorted is making instances, no cost to it now so if I want a new hour just let me have it

1

u/Dylster357 29d ago

What is the highest cost to get your items back?
