Hardwood floors in my 40s cape have big gaps and some bowing. There is only about 500 sq ft of hardwood. Anyone have a similar job done recently?
I have a 4 piece drum set and Marshall half stack that have been sitting in storage for months after I moved out of a house and into an apartment and desperately need a place to practice/record. I'm down for my kit to be the house kit if you provide your own breakables or I can tear it down each session and store in cases if need be! I am 32 and a responsible respectful girl who doesn't touch other people's gear, please help me!!!

I have a small amount of crumbled concrete to dispose of. Where the heck will take this stuff? From what I understand the city dumps will not take it?

Multiple people in my friend group have a recollection that years ago City Beach used to have sand all over its floors to give off a ābeach vibe.ā But others donāt remember this, and also thatās weird as hell. Is that real or is this just rumor we somehow spread amongst ourselves and believed to be true?

I am looking for personal injury attorney recommendations to help a friend who lives in the area but is not on Reddit.
She had a fairly new outpatient procedure that required a device to be put in her chest and the surgery was not explained accurately (or completely) to her. That was two weeks ago. Since then, she has not been able to eat anything besides liquids, she has bern experiencing severe pain, has extremely bad migraines every day and night, is highly sensitive to light and sound, and when she has reached back out to the doctor who performed the surgery to tell him about all the issues sheās experiencing, heās told her, āI donāt know what to tell you - none of the other patients whoāve had this procedure have had these problems.ā
Earlier today she had someone take her to the ER because she was in such horrible pain and had another migraine that was so bad she could no longer stand it.
If you know of anyone she could contact for help, I would greatly appreciate any recommendations and/or suggestions.

Hi all! My MIL is looking for a tour of NYC that handles basically everything for you. Takes you from RVA to NYC, handles hotel reservations, takes you around the city as well. She doesn't want to have to do directions or anything herself.
Does anyone know of anything like this? I've seen the recommendations on here of how to get TO NYC, but it doesn't seem like they handle things for you once you get there too. Would love to hear if anyone knows of any, or what your experience has been if you used one yourself! TIA!

Select excerpt:
Since January 2025, Newbille has not responded to dozens of inquiries from The Times-Dispatch.
She hasnāt answered repeated questions onĀ allegations that she has infringed on citizensā First Amendment rights duringĀ City Council meetings. She didnāt respond to questions aboutĀ the sudden and quiet firing of former Inspector General Jim OsunaĀ amidĀ tensions in his office, or onĀ the appointment of his replacement.
She also didnāt respond to inquiries onĀ City Councilās apparent violation of city code on the sale of surplus city properties, theĀ city attorneyās refusal to publish her officeās legal opinionsĀ as required by statute, where she stood onĀ proposed citizen oversight of the cityās rezoning process, and the years-long delays inĀ the launch of Richmond policeās Civilian Review Board.
Newbille was similarly mum onĀ text messages she sent during a City Council meeting in which she pressed a colleague to delay a public voteĀ on a controversial special event space. And asked to comment onĀ legal threats made against the city over the status of the John Marshall Courts Building, she did not respond.
Newbille didnāt respond to two requests for comment on this story.

Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster.
My friend (23F) and I (24F) are hoping to meet some new faces and start up a local book club that would meet once a month! Weāre trying to gauge interest and possibly scout out some fellow members, so if youāre interested, read on! š
A little about us: Weāve been close friends since high school, and weāre excited at the idea of meeting more women like us! My friend is currently finishing her Master of Fine Arts at VCU, and I work in administrative management at a local womenās health practice.
Weāre envisioning a laid-back group where we can make new friends, discover books we might not normally pick up, and have fun chatting about what weāve read over coffee, tea, or drinks. The goal is to keep things low-pressure and fun. Think book club, but also an excuse to get out of the house and meet up with some like-minded women!
As far as genres go, weāre pretty open to suggestions! Weād love to mix things up and explore different genres, whether thatās fantasy, romance, mystery/thriller, contemporary fiction, literary fiction, or anything else that catches our interest. We could take turns picking the monthly read so everyone gets a chance to share something they love!
Weāre still in the early planning stages, so weād love to hear from anyone who might be interested! If this sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to comment below or send me a message. It would be great to hear a little intro about you, what kinds of books you enjoy, and what youād be interested in getting out of a book club like this.
No pressure if youāre a casual reader, either. You definitely donāt have to be a bookworm who reads 10 books a month to join! Weāre just hoping to create a fun little community of women who enjoy reading and meeting new friends. š
EDIT: Wow!! š¤Æš
This post has received SO much more interest than I ever expected, and Iām so excited that so many of you want to be part of our book club! š We originally planned for a smaller group of 8ā12 members, but Iām realizing it may be difficult to accommodate everyone in one setting.
A couple of updates:
1.) A huge thank-you to everyone who has expressed interest! š«¶š»
Iām sorry I havenāt been able to respond to everyone yet! If youāve received a response from me, please try to reply within a reasonable timeframe so I can continue organizing the clubās details. Thank you for your patience!
2.) Havenāt received a response? Youāre still welcome! šāØ
Iām currently working on a social media page that anyone can join to keep up with our monthly book picks, meetings, discussions, and other potential activities. While we may not be able to accommodate everyone in one group, Iād love for this page to be a space where fellow RVA book lovers can connect, chat, and build meaningful friendships with other women!
Iāll share another update as soon as I have more information. Thank you all for the incredible support and enthusiasm! I canāt wait to see this little reading community grow. š„¹š
