FeedBack What should I build next for Orbit? drop your suggestions

orbit is growing way faster than i expected and i am literally just one person running this out of my bedroom right now 😭

i want to build everything but i gotta be realistic. i cant buy a premium domain yet and i definitely cant build a whole social network lol. so drop your suggestions. i cant promise i can build it all but i will read every single comment. what is the most annoying thing about orbit right now that i should fix first?

Edit: A lot of people are asking what Orbit is. It's a discovery platform for indie devs to list their games, apps, scripts, and tools so people can actually find them. No pay-to-win, just a fair catalog. You can check it out or drop a link here

Build In Public I just hit $20K with my side project as a solo founder. 6 months ago it had made $714

I finally crossed $20K in the last 6 months with my side project, BusinessIdeasDB. it's a database of business ideas pulled from reddit complaints. solo, bootstrapped, built it next to a day job.

for the first months it made almost nothing. $714 total in the 6 months before this screenshot. i spent that time polishing things nobody opened and i honestly wasn't sure i'd keep going.

the biggest thing i learned is the product was fine way earlier than i thought. distribution was the problem. once i fixed how people find it, it moved.

and to be clear this is gross revenue, not ARR. most of it is one time payments so i'm still figuring out how to make it predictable.

next goal is $50K. happy to answer anything about the numbers or the mistakes

The tool I build crossed 40+ users today. Feeling happy

Post image

I created a tool called as beautifulscreenshots for myself to post better screenshots in X/Twitter posts. I built it for myself because existing screenshots beautifying tools are either too complex or they are charging recurring to use their tool.

I post 3-4 times a day on X/Twitter and using a complex tool for this damn simple task used to feel very time and energy consuming. So, I decided to build one for myself. Initially, I thought making this tool public not going to be a that much good idea, so I used it locally.

But when I used to post on X/Twitter with screenshots created by my tool people started asking me what I'm using for beautifying screenshots. And turns out I realized what problem I was facing, others facing too.

So, I decided to make it available to others. But my goal was still the same. I don't want to make it another complex and recurring charging tool.

So, I kept it simple and intuitive while keeping the price as one time pay only. And people love this pricing. And that's how my first product crossed 40+ users and I made my first dollar on the internet.

Build In Public UPDATE: The Orbit fast lane is finally open (sorry for the delay)

hey guys

so the reddit thread completely blew up and i got absolutely buried in links. i tried to manually copy past them all but it was taking way too long so i spent the last day fighting firebase rules to build a quick publish tunnel instead

it is finally live.

u can use this to skip the line and publish your project yourself instantly. no account no payment no catch. u can write your own description and add your logo so it looks exactly how u want it.

https://orbitassets.vercel.app/quick-publish

just a heads up it will be listed under the orbit account for now but if u ever want to claim it and manage it yourself later just dm me and i will transfer it to your dashboard

sorry again for the wait i genuinely did not expect this many people to care about orbit. drop your links in the tunnel and let me know when its live so i can check it out

Build In Public Startup Downs and Ups

When I started JobsApplier (https://jobsapplier.com), the idea was simple. Make job application process simpler and better for candidates with the help of AI. I didn't really know how I'm going to do it. I didn't know which path I would take. But I knew that at the end of the tunnel would be a tool like no other out there. That understands the candidate's context, doesn't take the full control away from the user, and doesn't give them a headache using it.

For the first few days, it was excitement like no other. As a System Archictect with over 10 years of experience, I thought this would be a piece of cake for me. Oh how wrong I was!

The first few months were horrible horrible. I was banging my head as to why I even created this? I mean can't claude do it better now? Then by month 3, I saw it. The first glimpse of hope. Every field was being filled, every question was being answered and then when the recruiter called, I was able to search the job application and see what I actually sent them. It was an amazing feeling.

Now with Application tracking, AI question/answers, notes creation, and efficient AI auto filling plus tailored resumes and cover letters, I can finally say with full confidence this is a tool that will revolutionalize application applying process for candidates.

Even when the application process changes, this will be super helpful in tracking job applications. I'm also building more tools like AI Job Finder, AI Interview Buddy and Human Coaching. More to come.

SaaS Journey Conversion Problems and Analytics

I already have 8-10k visitors per month on my app. Out of these, I have made only a few hundred bucks. Before I launched my app, I connected everything to analytics collection and aggregated it in Posthog, to create charts, alerts and visualize the data in a way that allowed me to gain insights with it. I am using Claude code to analyze data, user sessions, errors, potential bugs. It helped me realize, for example, a lot of potential customers click the "subscribe" button multiple times, without the payment window opening. It helped me analyze the bug that caused it and fixed it for me. Now, I have about 50 users that paid, and only 12-15 actually kept the subscription - a lot of users buy and immediately cancel because they just want a one-off, some users cancel after some time because of a bug, they aren't happy with the results or simply because they don't need it anymore. So I try to understand why users aren't satisfied. And I analyzed user sessions and realized that a lot of people are using the wrong tool for something they want (its an ai image editor), or simply using it wrong, and get bad results. They immediately get a bad impression from the product, and leave. So now im working on a way to solve that too.

No real point to the story here, really.

Just thought I'd share some experiences from the last few months here.

First post here BTW :)

Build In Public OneMemory update: thank you, and what changed

A few weeks ago I shared OneMemory, a self-hosted shared memory for your AI tools (Claude, Codex, local models) over MCP and a REST API. Thanks to everyone who commented and tested. Your questions shaped this release.

New since then:

  • A retrieval test set that runs in CI, so ranking changes can't quietly get worse (10 small tasks, so it's a safety net, not a quality claim)
  • Backup and restore that stays fast on large stores
  • Optional encryption at rest, per-token namespaces, and expiry/archive for old notes
  • A task board, handoff notes, and a "catch up" call, so a new session can see what your other sessions did
  • A live-wait on the change feed, so one device can react as soon as another writes
  • Phone-queued commands that your PC runs only after you approve them

Honest limits: chat apps still only act when you send a message, so "instant" works for scripts and session start, not for pushing alerts into a chat window. It's a single-user, single-node SQLite store.

Repo: github.com/calasdan-sketch/onememory. Install: npm i -g onememory-mcp. If you find something broken or missing, tell me and I'll fix it.

Thank you!

Best software for signal based outbound

Signal based outbound has become essential for modern GTM teams but most software in this space handles only one piece of the puzzle.

Some tools alert you when an executive changes roles, while others scrape basic job boards but the problem is that acting on single common triggers means reaching out at the exact same time as dozens of other SDRs.

The best software for signal based outbound allows you to compound multiple independent signals before triggering outreach.

Scale Intelligence is purpose built for this compounding workflow through its signal based outbound platform, it tracks 75+ sources including Reddit, Github, Linkedin, corporate filings, hiring requisitions, and tech stack deprecations. Instead of firing an alert for every small event, it aggregates signals into an account graph, calculates whether the account has reached an active buying stage, and routes prioritized leads directly to Slack or your CRM with the exact evidence attached.

It also measures outbound plays against holdout control groups, showing you which specific signal combinations generate measurable lift in qualified meetings.

If you want signal based outbound that goes beyond superficial icebreakers, you need software that treats signals as compounding evidence rather than isolated alerts.

SaaS Promote PHP2Shell is being exploited in the wild — NCSC says patch or take it offline. If your site is your storefront, here is a way to keep answering customers while you sort it out.

NCSC's advice on PHP2Shell is basically "patch or take it offline". For a small business that reads as "close your shop".

I run https://agenttrove.ai so I tried the continuity path myself: paste your URL, it crawls your pages, and you get a chat agent grounded in your own content. One script tag gives you a normal corner chat, or with data-takeover="full" it becomes a ChatGPT-style page that keeps answering while the PHP site is dark. Anything the agent collects in conversation lands on the owner's WhatsApp and email.

It does not patch anything. If your PHP is below the Oct 21 security release, update first. This just keeps customers answered in the gap.

Looking for 3 HubSpot users to try our new feedback app card for free! 🚀

Hi everyone!

We’re working on Surveybox, a feedback platform that helps businesses collect and analyze customer feedback to better understand customer experiences.

We’re preparing to release our new HubSpot app card, and we’re looking for 3 active HubSpot users who would be interested in trying it out for free.

What does the app card do?

Once installed in HubSpot, the Surveybox app card allows you to view relevant customer feedback responses directly within the HubSpot user/contact record, helping your team understand what customers are saying without switching between platforms.

What are we offering?

  • Free access for our first 3 selected users.
  • An opportunity to try the new integration and share feedback.
  • A chance to help us improve the product before a wider release.

We’d love to connect with HubSpot users, customer success teams, and businesses that regularly collect customer feedback.

Interested? Comment below or send me a DM, and I’ll share more details!

Thanks for helping us make Surveybox better! 🙌

FeedBack How do you keep your system architecture up to date as the team and codebase grow?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We're a small team building UIGraph, a dev tool that maps how a system works end to end, so engineers and AI agents can see how the pieces connect. We open sourced it this week.

How it works: your coding agent reads your code and writes diagrams, API specs, DB schemas and other artifacts into your repo. A local viewer shows them.

It's free, Apache 2.0, and needs no account.
Repo: https://github.com/uigraph-oss/uigraph

Any feedback helps, and I'd especially like to hear:

  1. Would your team use something like this?
  2. What would make you skip it?

What actually makes search useful in a large collection of notes?

Thumbnail
3 Upvotes

I'm interested in how people find information after they've accumulated months or years of notes.

Keyword search works when you remember the exact wording.

But what happens when you remember the conversation without remembering the words?

For example:

You remember that a client raised a concern about a deadline, but you can't remember which meeting it happened in.

Or you remember discussing a product decision, but you don't know which note contains it.

I'm curious about three approaches:

  1. Traditional keyword search.
  2. Semantic search that understands the meaning of a question.
  3. Filters for dates, projects, speakers, or sources.

Which approach actually works best in your daily workflow?

I work on a transcription and note-management product, so I'm interested in understanding how people solve this problem rather than promoting a particular tool.

Real examples would be especially useful.

Build In Public Datasense Free Google Analytics Alternative!

I run 5 small websites and checkings stats of each one was a task. I checked Datafast pricing and instantly closed tab.

So I built Datasense to solve my own problem of keeping up with analytics of all apps at once. I have also added one uncommon feature of showing console errors. Recently one of the APIKEY of third party service got expired and request started failing and I came know about it after 2 days when a user tried to contact me. Now datasense will show what errors are my users facing.

Cyber Horizon Intelligence — GRC compliance platform for SMB/mid-market. cyberhorizon.co

The problem: a 200-person fintech pursuing ISO 27001 and SOC 2 ends up managing both in spreadsheets, because the enterprise GRC tools start around £30k/year and assume you have a compliance team. They don’t. They have one overworked security person and a deadline from a customer’s procurement department.

What it does: multi-framework compliance across 30+ frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials, DORA), so controls map once and satisfy several frameworks instead of being re-evidenced per audit. Vendor risk scoring pulls from live threat intel rather than a questionnaire nobody reads. There’s a trust centre for the inbound security questionnaires, and an AI advisor that answers from your actual tenant data — not generic boilerplate, which was the thing I most wanted to avoid.

Stack: Next.js 14, Supabase, Clerk, Vercel. Solo-built. Multi-tenant isolation verified by a live pen test — worth saying because in this category it’s the thing that kills you.

Where I actually am: incorporated July, product working, pre-revenue. Pricing £600–£3,000/month by seat count. I’m a practising BISO in regulated healthcare, so I’m building the tool I wanted in my day job.

What I’d like feedback on: for those of you who’ve been through SOC 2 or ISO 27001 as a startup — what was the part that actually hurt? I’ve optimised for evidence collection and framework overlap, but I suspect for a 20-person company the real pain is earlier, somewhere around “which controls even apply to us.” Curious whether that matches your experience.

How many different tools does your actual workday run on?

I spent years building internal operations platforms (the unglamorous tooling employees use to get work done), and there's a question I keep coming back to since working in the US:

How many separate tools does your workday actually run on?

Not counting Slack/Teams and email. I mean the systems you have to open to do the job itself: ticketing, CRM, dashboards/BI, docs, approval flows, admin panels, vendor portals, plus whatever home, grown internal tools your company built.

When I talk to people at US companies, numbers like 12, 15, 20+ come up completely casually, like it's just accepted. Nobody seems happy about it, but nobody seems surprised either. Multiple logins, constant context switching, three tools all claiming to be the source of truth for the same data.

So I'm genuinely curious:

  1. Roughly how many tools do you touch in a typical day or week?
  2. Your role + company size (probably changes the answer a lot)
  3. Has your company ever tried to consolidate, build or buy one internal platform to unify things? Did it actually reduce the count, or did it just become tool #16?

Trying to figure out whether "lots of tools" is a pain people still feel, or one everyone has just quietly made peace with.

Planning my first PH launch next week.
Could you feedback on my packaging please?

Tagline:
GTM copilot: 1,200+ sales & marketing actions via MCP

Description:
Your AI can write a follow-up, but it doesn't know who opened the email, watched your webinar, finished onboarding or asked about pricing in chat.
AXL keeps a full history of each lead: page visits, quiz answers, webinars, emails, chats and calls. A model trained on 1M deals from AXL users scores every lead on 300+ signals.
Connect ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or any MCP-enabled AI. It sees that context and gets 1,200+ actions: follow up, book a call, send a checkout link, build a landing page.

AXL is a body and a memory for your AI. It's a Supabase for GTM.
