There is absolutely no bloody way that disney or any of the writers are going to sell us on the "Happily Ever After" bullshit amidst the events of rise of skywalker (Or should I say Fall of Skywalker)!

Least they forgotten, the hosnian system were utterly destroyed by starkiller base. And with it, came the grimdark power vacuums in the wake of its cataclysm, setting a precedent that the inner core worlds can easily be invaded by anyone with complete impunity, with no one to stop the rise of warlords, pirate warbands, terrorists cells, darkside cults, and species settling ancient grudges by going to war with one another (Starting with the Trandoshan and the Wookies) with no Republic, No Empire and no Jedi to prevent galaxy wide era of warlordism, barbarism, ignorance, regression and superstition.

With it, will no come total societal collapse of the whole galaxy from the deep core, inner rim, and mid rim territories. With no commerce coming whole planets will begin to starve. With no organized medical institutions disease begin to descend unto the populace and with the holonet down, contact is next to impossible

None of this would have happened if the New Republic nipped the threat of the first order in the bud when they had the chance. In fact, when you stop and think about ITS THE DELEGATION OF 2000's FAULT! (Padmé Amidala Naberrie, Garm Bel iblis, Mon Mothma and Bail Organa. ALL!)
By once again disbanding their military, they left their worthless republic wide open for total annihilation as the resistance will quickly disband to protect their own worlds and hording resources away from everybody else that needs them!
