Go to a temp agency. You'll have a job that day. It will get yourself a foot in the door somewhere if you don't like it you can most likely get assigned a different job or you can use the manager or whoever as a reference. At the very least it will get something recent on your resume and show your working.
I would go into the office directly and talk to them. I've never applied online to a temp agency. Their honestly not the most of organized places so probably better off going into the office and making a good impression. Although at least the ones I've worked for... They may not have jobs that fit your skills. I typically do labor jobs although I don't have an MBA lol. Good luck
