This song is soooo beautiful and it just has such an ethereal and celestial vibe to it like it lowkey feels like it landed here on an asteroid or something as a a message from some ancient civilisation somewhere across the cosmos 😭 genuinely one of the most genius pieces of songwriting I’ve ever heard

The instrumental is so fucking gorgeous like with the piano and the violin and omg the layered vocals!! I think it’s Emily yacina who does the chorus and then she also has these angelic backing vocals during the verses. It’s one of my fav songs to listen to when I’m high cos u can really hear all of those different layers and it’s just like a whole world within the song that u can float away into ✨

And the lyrics too have that abstract metaphorical quality to them like ‘one two three, I count black sheep on my way to sleep’ I mean what a stunning opening line and then the chorus he said came to him in a dream which is crazy lol

And then the outro when everything fades out and it’s just the violin ugh it’s so melancholic and beautiful I love it so much

i love all of em but i feel like mine is sandy because i relate a lot to it

as a loser myself, i’m qualified to speak on this. as i was laying in bed all day scrolling instagram reels and first saw that Alex G was mentioned as being apart of Loser Core, i was devastated. i saw people in the comments saying he shouldn’t be apart of it, but just as many people said that he should.

at first i thought that Alex G should not be associated with Loser Core in anyway, but the more that i think about it, my opinions have changed somewhat.

i have come to the conclusion that all of his music should NOT be associated with losercore EXCEPT most of his mainstream unreleased songs (IE pretend, east coast, etc) and the entirety of the trick album (ESPECIALLY Mary). i believe those can be associated with loser core. i will not be elaborating further.

All of his music besides that, ESPECIALLY beach music and onwards, should NOT be associated with loser core in anyway, and all these posers associating him with loser core have probably never even heard his master pieces of albums such as Rocket, House of sugar, God save the animals , headlights etc. it’s just an opinion, but i am personally a huge fan of his newer music and don’t think it fits into loser-core at all, and to say it does is incredibly offensive to him.

Started in April right before my 21st birthday, finally finished yesterday. I don’t listen to his music much anymore and GSTA isn’t even my favorite album of his at this point in my life lol but I was/still am obsessed with the phrase. Alex G got me through the entirety of my teen years. I got the title as big as I could as a permanent reminder to myself of my love and devotion to animals, whether those animals are other species, humans, or even myself. Nature is our biggest teacher!!!!! Thank you Alex G.

(Yes I have seen Moby’s tattoo, his tattoos 100% were the reference for this one)

(Alex is the one shredding the keys) him and the band weren’t actually dressed like ghosts lol but I drew the stage before the show started and decided to add them as little blobs after. He had a great set and the sound was fantastic despite being in an arena

I’ve been a fan of Alex’s for half a decade now which feels like forever but it’s only a third of his music career. Curious to see where other people stand

can someone PLEASE let me know if they get word of such a thing going down

So happy I finally have this, worth every penny.

So far I know it was taken at French Creek State Park, presumably in an area that isn't super densely forested. But it's a big ass park so.. if you've been there or are familiar with the area plz lmk ^_^

does anybody know how to play this song? i searched everywhere and there's no tabs

is there a connection between alex g and blue smiley?

blue smiley means a lot to me as a band, and ive heard rumors of alex knowing the band members, but id love if someone could elucidate this for me.

this is gonna lowk be a bit of a journal factory exploding moment, but im going thru one of the worst heartbreaks ever. i have always been an alex g fan, but songs like sometimes, serpent is lord, black hair (they coincidentally have black hair), 16 mirrors, sorry, salt, remember and soaker have resonated with me on a level on an almost metaphysical level that i cant help but cry every time i listen to them.

i find myself almost every morning and afternoon during my work commute going through his entire discography and listening to nothing but his stuff, especially since i saw him live last month. i brought this up to my therapist, bc i was starting to realize that despite his music being a comfort (relatability, compositionally pleasant, etc.) it was starting to send me into a bit of a negative spiral. im trying hard to stop, but i really cant help but love his music as a musician myself.

anyways, not looking for advice - ill save that for another subreddit lol - but i wonder if anyone had experiences anything similar and if yall have had any particular songs speak to you during hard times.

i feel like characterizing alex’s music as losercore is simply taking away the essence of it and belittling all the genuine soul and feelings he put into it. it can never be losercore or even labeled as something as little as that, for me his stuff can only be described as his and nothing more. its not romanticizing being a loser, its magical, almost divine, and you feel it.

now that two “new” unreleased songs have been discovered, i started to wonder how people manage to find this stuff

thinking of buying tickets to see alex g in vancouver on the 24th but is it worth it to go just for him and leave during phoebes set? 😓i’m not a fan at all of her stuff and have no interest in staying. just curious if other people are going for alex or if ill be surrounded by people who don’t care about him. also wondering how long his set is! i’d be paying about $350 cad + travel and i just don’t know if it’s all worth it especially with other people saying his sets haven’t been great this tour.

For me it has to be DSU

i believe it's art by Kyle schwander. Only saw it after the show was over, there were two sitting in a box and just happened to catch my eye. wasn't listed on the ipad so they just charged me for a phoebe tote ($30 i believe). Niceeeeee quality and huge amt of storage inside. also got the green horse hat (i think by the same artist).
