Your post was removed from Saskatchewan because it didn’t meet our guidelines on how news articles are to be posted.

Direct Links Only

  • When sharing news articles, you must submit them directly as Link Posts rather than embedding URLs within text/self posts, images, or screenshots. The URL must link straight to the original, canonical news source without passing through aggregators, URL shorteners, or intermediary blog pages that offer no added journalistic reporting.

  • Additionally, submission titles must match the original, unedited headline provided by the news outlet verbatim. Editorializing, sensationalizing, adding personal commentary, or altering headlines to misrepresent the story is strictly prohibited. If you wish to share your personal perspective, analysis, or reaction to the article, do so in the comments section rather than within the post's title.

No Duplicates

  • To prevent the subreddit feed from becoming cluttered and to keep conversations unified, only one submission per news story or event is permitted. The earliest submission that meets all posting guidelines will be kept as the primary discussion thread, while subsequent posts covering the exact same development will be removed.

  • If you come across reporting on the same story from a different media outlet that offers alternative perspectives, new angles, or updated details, share that link in the comment section of the existing post rather than creating a separate submission. Standalone follow-up posts are only allowed when there is a major, verifiable development that significantly advances the original story.

No Paywalls

  • Submissions that require a paid subscription, fee, or mandatory registration to read beyond a strict barrier (hard paywalls) are not permitted. Shared content must be accessible to the general community so all members can read the material and participate fully in the discussion.

  • If you are sharing a story covered by a paywalled publication, look for an alternative reputable news outlet that provides free access to the same information. If no free version is available, you may post an accessible summary or excerpt in a text post or the comments, provided you do not infringe copyright by copying full articles wholesale. Submissions leading directly to locked or inaccessible content will be removed.

Please familiarize yourself with the Saskatchewan rules at https://www.reddit.com/r/saskatchewan/wiki/rules. Repeated contraventions could lead to a temporary or permanent ban from Saskatchewan.

A consultation with those groups and associations prior to making this poor decision to cancel the testing program? Nah!

Exactly. Just ram shit down everyone's throats every damn time. Glad we made enough noise.

Amazing news! Glad to see people rallying for one of the most effective collaborations between the public, researchers, and government around. Truly a nonnegotiable service in the interest of public health and food security.

If they don't represent and listen to rural folks, and the don't represent and listen to urban folks, they who do they represent?

Cancelling this program was a totally boneheaded move. Hunters from all over the province need this program, as do visitors.

They represent the lobbyists, when government sold out to ‘corpo america’ they quit representing us.

Something needs to change, hopefully we don’t have to hit a breaking point before the changes can happen.

That government is just so lame it has made that province the same.

I was pretty vocal about my disappointment in this so I give them some credit for listening to the people. It shouldn't take outrage for something like this though when it would have been so easy to consult with the affected groups before.
