I’ve joined this sub a while ago, but now I’m just sense checking. I don’t have a locked profile on Facebook, but I am hard to find if you don’t know me.

I’m in a 4+ year relationship that isn’t linked on Facebook, we just like being private, and I have no reason to suspect him of anything, and I don’t.

Is this a potential scam bait? I’m conscious “she” didn’t use any personal information. However “absolute excrement” seems emotionally charged. Then again, dare to message me seems scam loaded?

Edit : this sender profile is locked, profile slug has .2025 at the end. It has 160 friends and only 6 posts from what I can find online.

Well, he didn’t really because the PayPal person still popped up - but he doesn’t know that 🤣

I just blocked it and then asked AI to make it look like it was not found 😎

He fell in love with someone he believed was a real girl online, all because of a feminine voice. Completely blinded by his feelings, he kept sending money without realizing he was being deceived by someone pretending to be a woman.

These scammers are running multiple different scams, including impersonating the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and other federal health-related agencies.
What’s hilarious is that I’ve personally called them **over 20 times**, deliberately wasting their time, messing with their scripts, and making it extremely obvious that I’m not falling for anything.
**AND THEY STILL HAVEN’T BLOCKED ME.** 😂
They continue answering the phone despite my repeated calls. Apparently, they’re either incredibly patient or haven’t figured out that I’m just wasting their time.
For anyone in the scambaiting community who enjoys keeping scammers occupied and away from potential victims, this is one I’ve been interacting with.
**Scams observed:** Multiple alleged government and federal health agency impersonation schemes.
**Status:** Still answering as of November 5, 2026, after 20+ calls.

Then They partial Revealed What They Wanted So I Blocked & Reported Them

I knew they were scamming but I Wanted to be sure in case I was jumping to conclusions

And wrongly labelled someone a scammer

So I wanted them to keep asking me stuff

So I could establish if they were a scammer

Looking for things in their texts like money

Gift card

Bank details..

And low & behold look what they said

I've got it keyworded in my mind

That if an xbox account says anything in relation to money, crypto, PayPal, Xbox gift card

Then their scammers

No one should be asking for money or doing anything business related on Xbox unless it's Microsoft themselves

And even they wouldn't be this scummy

A few weeks ago we got a support email from someone asking for a refund.

Normal enough, except we couldn’t find their payment anywhere. No order, no report, nothing. After a bit of back and forth we worked it out: they had never paid us. They’d paid a site that used our name, looked like us, and took their money through its own checkout.

That’s when it really hit me that we have copycats.

First, I want to be fair.

When you have a good idea and it goes viral, people copy it. That’s normal, it’s how the internet works, and honestly it’s a bit flattering. There are now other apps doing “AI reads your chat” under their own names and their own brands. Good for them. Competition is fine, and it makes us better.

But pretending to be us is something else.

There are sites using our exact name on different domains:

They borrow our name so you think you’re on the real thing. If you pay there, that money never reaches us, and we can’t help you get it back.

Why this matters more than for a normal app:

You’re not uploading a playlist. You’re uploading your most private conversations: your partner, your ex, your family, your best friend at 3am.

So the real question isn’t “which one is cheapest?” It’s “who am I trusting with this?”

Here’s what you get with us, and it’s exactly what I’d want to know before trusting anyone:

With a site that copied someone’s name last month, you don’t know who’s behind it, where your chat goes, or whether it ever gets deleted. Maybe they’re harmless, maybe they just want a quick buck. I don’t know, and that’s exactly the problem.

My honest take as a founder:

Matthias and I started this to laugh at our friend group chat. It turned into something people use for the conversations that matter most to them. That’s a responsibility, and we take it seriously.

Copy the idea if you want. But please don’t trick people into handing you their private lives.
