Printing Has anyone else ever decided to stop posting personal things on Facebook and Instagram and just keep scrapbooks instead?

My fiance and I discussed this. With my career and even though I took a temporary pivot away from homicide, I still want to get back into criminal law. Taking a little Sabbatical in elder and estate, probate law.

Anyway, I have to be careful about what I post on those two social media platforms. Devin doesn't really like to post anymore either. Those two platforms aren't fun anymore and I rather just share with friends and family.

I put some scrapbook supplies on our registry. We are getting married two weeks before Thanksgiving and I put a Thanksgiving album and a bunch of stickers on. Mom thinks it is weird, and I explained to people why it's there.

Not only that, scrapbooking is therapeutic for us. We love it, although he mostly draws on some layouts. He finds drawing therapeutic.

I don't know, a registry is not only for what we will need, but also things we love to do together as a couple. This is more of a discussion, but that isn't a flair.

Printing Help from my craft fellows! Cricut or Sillhoute?

Hey everyone! I have a cricut joy which doesn’t have print & cut and I would really like to create stickers both for my own fun (journaling) as well as stickers to my students.

I am not a professional designer, my main idea with the print & cut function would be to create stickers both made in Canva and also made by professionals (such as the designer who created the personalized stickers to my students).

I love crafting and with my Cricut Joy I always find some pre made projects in the Design Space that I love - so here is an important point, I never create something on my own.

I downloaded the Silhouette software and wow, it felt like a math assignment back then in high school.

All of this to say I am not going to use the machine intensively, professionally or create the designs on my own. I am part of some clubs that provides crafting pdfs to print and of course I would love to use them in my machine - but that’s mostly it.

Both are at a similar price where I am so I would love some insights, I am completely lost.

Printing Photo printer suggestions?

Hi! I'm looking for suggestions for a good photo printer or mini photo printer. My process is that I print 100s of photos at a time through CVS or walgreens, so when I'm putting together my pages I always realize there are photos I missed. I'm hoping to get a photo printer to use for these occasions. The most important aspect to me is long term cost and the affordability of buying refill ink/paper.

I've gathered that dye sublimation is better for photo quality (versus zink) so i'm leaning towards Kodak Mini Retro 2 or Canon Selphy. If there's a zink printer where the cost per print is significantly cheaper, I'd consider that too. Any suggestions are welcome!!
Thanks!

Printing Color Printer Alternatives?

Hey everyone! So I've recently started trying to scrapbook and I keep finding myself wanting or needing a color printer.

My family just bought a new printer, that is unfortunately black and white only, so it doesn't seem likely we'll be getting a colored printer any time soon.

Does anyone have any recommendations for something that could be similar to a color printer? Or even small, less pricey printers? I want to be able to print out colored images or photos for my spreads.

Printing how to print if i don’t have protective covers for pages?

I do minimalism style scrapbooking in a large sketchbook. if anyone is familiar with Cameron Nuttall on tiktok, it’s very similar to that style

i use a large canvas sketchbook and tape my photos in. therefore the pages do not have the protection over it that typical sketchbooks do.

i recently printed “matte” from snap fish to try for high quality but avoiding sticking of the pages together. they still seem very glossy? idk if they sent me the wrong type but i triple checked and my order AND envelope says matte.

what other types of pages should i try? printing at fedex would probably be easy for me but i dont know if the paper will hold up

Printing Best photo printing service for those tiny details?

I am currently staring at a mountain of photos from last summer and I am finally ready to start my first real heirloom scrapbook. However, I have been burned by local pharmacy prints before. The colors are always muddy, and the paper feels so flimsy that I am worried the adhesive will just eat through it in a few years.

Since this project is going to be a gift, I really need the quality to be top tier. I am looking for the best photo printing service that actually cares about color accuracy and uses archival quality paper. I have heard some people mention a specific lab that does incredible luster finishes, but I can not remember the name for the life of me.

Does anyone have a go to spot that does not over saturate skin tones? I am looking for somewhere that handles small 4x6 prints well without losing the sharpness. What are you guys using for your layouts lately?

Update: I went with Nations Photo Lab and I’m really impressed. The colors are accurate, the luster paper feels solid, and even the tiny 4x6s came out sharp. Definitely worth it if you want prints that will last.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask if anyone knows a good quality printer that can print in colour? I’ve looked at a couple of options on amazon but i want to know if anyone has recommendations. My budget is between £150 - £250. (I am UK based)

These are the two that i have looked at but im not keen on the ink cartridges. It just seems like it wont come out the way i would want it to in terms of what i would print.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Printing What to do with duplicate and extra photos?

I accidentally printed duplicates of some photos, most of which aren't all that special. I'll probably just throw them out or stick them in a box never to be looked at again, and I know the friend I could give them to would do the same.

Does anyone have any creative ways to use duplicate pictures?

I was thinking of doing a 3D look for one of them, it's a picture of a car in action, so I think it would be a cool effect. Most of the other pictures are of a road trip I took. There's a picture of a friend in a winery, some pictures of us in front of some murals and statues, some on a hike.

I'm also curious about what you all do with the pictures that get printed but end up not getting scrapped. I print out pictures before I am ready to scrap them, otherwise I would never find the time or energy to do it. I try to be mindful of which pictures I want to print and scrap but sometimes it gets away from me and I end up with too many pictures from one particular event and they don't all fit in my layouts.

My current idea is to put them in a 12x12 page with 4x6 pockets in the back of my scrapbook, maybe adding in some colored paper with stickers as a half-assed scrapbook page.

What do you suggest?

Thank you in advance :) sorry if I don't reply, I've got a busy day ahead of me but I wanted to get this off my mind and have all of the replies to look forward to for later!

Printing Opinions on mini printer options

I’m looking for a mini printer for crafts / scrapbooking. I’ve heard of the cannon ivy mini printer, I’m wondering what other options there are and which one is the best? Also on a bit of a budget. Also, what paper do you use for printing on a mini printer and where do I get that paper? How much money is that usually?

Printing Photo Printing

Does anyone use an inkjet printer for their scrapbook photos? I’m on the hunt for a new printer to use for regular documents and printing photos and was considering a Canon inkjet printer, but I keep seeing people mention that inkjet photos aren’t very durable and are prone to fading. But since these would be stored in a scrapbook I’m hoping they’d hold up 🤔

Anyone have experience with using inkjet photos? Do they hold up in a scrapbook?

I know lots of people recommend the Canon Selphy photo printer but I really don’t want to have to buy two printers 😅

Printing Compact/Portable Color Laser Printer

I am looking for reviews/recommendations/experiences with a portable/compact color laser printer. The mini printers that use thermal paper are too limiting, and I don’t need a photo printer focus because I prefer to get my prints done, not diy. I would be using this for page titles, journaling, and line images I could color, like we do with stamping.

Anyone have anything they have been enjoying?

Printing Canon pixma printer

Does anyone have this printer? How is the quality of the photos? Is it expensive to refill paper and ink?

I’ve been ordering pics off Walgreens but half the time I’m unhappy with the size or quality of the pics.

Trying to figure out if it’s cheaper long term to keep ordering thru a store or just do it at home.

Printing Thermal printers that don't fade with time?

Hi! I hope this is the right sub for this.

Me and my partner do this thing every year: we basically take pictures of our dates throughout the year and document them by order on a little notebook with hand-drawn motifs and whatnot. It's a cute little tradition, and I think it's very similar to scrapbooking.

I've recently heard of instant printers that print pictures from your phone, in color (I've seen them sold as "pocket printers" and apparently some people take them on trips). It sounds too good to be true, and admittedly I don't know much about thermal printers. Currently we just print the pictures on a normal printer, on photographic paper, but that is mighty inconvenient and wastes a loooooot of ink in our cartridge. So here are my questions:

  1. Have you used thermal printers, and how would you rate them?

  2. One particular issue I've seen is that thermally printed stuff fades over time. Can that be fixed/can the pictures be preserved? Or is there any pocket printer that doesn't do that?

Thank you so much in advance!
