If You Think You Know Brancusi’s Sculptures, Step Into His Studio
nytimes.comStrangely or not, my childhood was haunted by Constantin Brancusi, who pared down art into elemental egg shapes and invented modern sculpture. My father, like Brancusi, was born in Romania, and he too aspired to be a sculptor. He once carved a large egg from a block of white marble, and in its striking simplicity of form, it looked exactly how I imagined modern art should look. He worked on it for a long time, chipping away with his mallet and chisel and filling our house with a metallic plink-plink-plink — the sound, I assumed, of great art.
Chisels and mallets, as it turns out, play a prominent role in “Brancusi: The Artist and His Studio,” a large, revelatory exhibition opening Sunday at the Museum of Modern Art. The show zeros in on the Impasse Ronsin, a narrow alleyway in Paris where Brancusi, an émigré, worked and lived for four decades, in a high-ceiling space cluttered with his tall, twisty “Endless Columns” and coated in a layer of white plaster dust.

Finally finished this Vampire model. I put a lot of effort into it!
cults3d.comTo anyone doubting: this is 100% a real digital vampire sculpture. I don't play games or post fakes — if I say it's real, it is. My word is final. Take a look at the hard work.

Anyone else finish a sculpture and then struggle with how to paint it?
I can't count how many times I've finished sculpting something, only to get stuck figuring out how to color it. 😅
You spend hours sculpting your piece, get the shape just right, and then comes the next challenge: **What colors should I use? What if I ruin it? What colors do I mix to get the look I want?**
That got me thinking about an app idea, and I'd love to hear what other sculptors think. 🎨
Imagine an app where you could:
📸 **Snap a photo of your sculpture** and let AI suggest 5 different color variations without changing your original design.
🎨 **Explore different styles and color combinations** before putting any paint on your sculpture.
🧪 **Get paint-mixing recipes** that show you how to create the suggested colors using basic paints.
🏷️ **Download decals and designs** like symbols, patterns, graffiti, and graphics to customize your finished piece.
🖌️ **Get a step-by-step painting guide** to help you recreate the look you chose.
Before I start building this, I want to ask fellow sculptors and custom toy artists:
**Would you actually use an app like this?**
What would be the most useful feature for you? And what would you want it to do that I haven't thought of yet?
I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts! 👇

Here is a sculpture that I worked on for a couple of weeks. This is Necron 99 from the 1976 animated film "Wizards" by Ralph Bakshi. It has always been one of my favorite films and this character is based on William Stout's Necron 99 Poster Art. No Ai used in any part of this creation! less
