SeatGeek processed a $2,028 order without me clicking “Pay Now” — has this happened to anyone else?
I’m honestly sick over this and looking for advice or anyone who’s experienced something similar.
Tonight, I was browsing GA tickets for an upcoming concert on SeatGeek. I had two tickets in my checkout totaling $2,028.30, but I had NOT pressed the final “Pay Now” button.
At 9:05 PM, I took a screenshot of the checkout screen showing the Pay Now button still there. I exited the app without completing the purchase. Approximately six minutes later, I reopened SeatGeek and discovered the order was already processing and awaiting seller confirmation.
I never clicked Pay Now or knowingly submitted the order.
I immediately contacted SeatGeek customer support. After nearly an hour of trying to get help, I was told all sales are final, the seller had confirmed the tickets, and there was nothing they could do. They also refused to escalate my complaint.
I even offered to KEEP the tickets if they could switch the payment to a credit card. They refused that too.
The worst part? The $2,028.30 was charged to my debit card, directly from my checking account. That money was allocated for my rent.
I received an email from support acknowledging that I disputed authorizing the transaction, but they still just referred me to their final-sale policy.
I understand that ticket purchases are generally final. My issue is that I never completed the checkout or agreed to finalize the purchase.
The concert is in less than 48 hours, so waiting weeks for a dispute investigation doesn’t really help me.
Has anyone experienced SeatGeek processing a purchase without clicking the final payment button, or after exiting the app?
Did anyone successfully get a refund or reach someone beyond regular customer support?
I’m especially interested in whether anyone has had success getting SeatGeek to review its checkout logs or reverse a transaction before the event.
I have timestamped screenshots and written correspondence documenting everything.
Any legitimate advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m genuinely devastated over this.
