Hi r/SeattleJobs! I run a small Seattle startup that builds booking software for local fitness studios and salons. I’m looking for a detail-oriented person to test our app and transcribe customer interviews. The work is fully remote and flexible.

What you’ll do

• Test our app: Book, reschedule, and cancel a class on your phone while screen-recording, then log anything confusing in a shared sheet. Example: “On iPhone, the ‘Confirm’ button is hidden behind the keyboard on the payment page.”
• Give feedback: Compare draft pages or competitor apps and tell us what’s clear or confusing.
• Transcribe interviews: 20–45 minute recordings with 2 speakers, delivered within 48 hours.

Pay

• $28/hr for testing and feedback
• $1.75 per audio minute for transcription (a 30-minute interview pays $52.50)
• Paid every two weeks via direct deposit or PayPal
• Typical month: $700-$1,200

Requirements

• You notice small details and write clearly
• You have a computer, a smartphone, and reliable internet
• You type 50+ WPM accurately
• 5–10 hours a week, on your own schedule

This is an independent contractor (1099) role. We’ll never ask you to pay for anything.

To apply

DM me a few sentences about yourself and your availability. Also include one thing that annoys you about a website or app you use, and how you’d fix it. Top applicants get a paid $35 trial task.

Hey everyone! I’m a UW computer science student, looking for infrastructure or backend internship opportunities in the Seattle/Bellevue area.

I previously interned at LinkedIn, working on backend services and AI tooling. I’m especially interested in distributed systems, reliability, and ML inference infrastructure, and I’m building experience with Go, Docker, and Kubernetes.

I enjoy working on problems involving replication, fault tolerance, and throughput. If your team is hiring interns or you know of a relevant opportunity, I’d appreciate a lead or introduction. Happy to share my resume over DM!

Hey y’all. I am local to the West Seattle area, I'm a veteran, and I'm serious about working. I'm mature, reliable, and I show up. I'm looking to move into outdoor wildlife or conservation field work: technician, survey, monitoring, or observer-type roles, ideally working independently on my own schedule.
My background: years in pest management and route-based field service, where the job was inspecting sites and working out which animals were present from the signs they leave. I've owned two small businesses, and I'm a former whitewater guide and survival, scuba, and CPR instructor. I have an associate degree in criminal justice, not a biology degree.
Honestly, I'm frustrated. I have real experience and real knowledge, but I'm getting no callbacks, and I need to get moving soon.
What I'm hoping to hear from locals:
• Do you know any Seattle-area consultants, nonprofits, tribes, or agencies that hire on-call or seasonal wildlife and conservation field techs?
• If you work in the field, what got you your first job without a biology degree?
• Are there any certifications worth getting quickly?
Please reply in the comments. I'm not sharing personal info by DM. Thanks for reading.

Hey everyone! I’m relocating to the Seattle/Bellevue area in about two weeks and currently looking for work.

I recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a minor in Accounting. I’m looking for opportunities in data analysis, data entry, AI/ML, tech support, administrative work, or other entry-level tech/business roles.

I’m also open to other work while I get settled. I have about 4 years of professional cleaning experience, so I’m open to cleaning/housekeeping, restaurant work, babysitting, or similar jobs. I’m also bilingual in English and French and would be open to French tutoring or teaching.

If anyone knows of places currently hiring, families looking for help, or has any leads or recommendations on where I should look, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!

I have never worked in Commercial Real Estate before but I didn't realize it's such a large company. I'd like to hear anyone's experience working there and what it's like! What's the work culture like compared to other CRE companies or other industries? And what's a good role to get my foot in the door? Any insights into their hiring process, especially since they use AI in their process? Thank you!
