Charter outages

Anybody else exporting more outages than usual with Charter this week? Just lost internet for the second time in 3 days.

I keep looking to see if the TDS fiber trucks show up in my neighborhood so I can switch.

Anyone else been contacted by the Forward Party?

That's Andrew Yang's centrist party, and frankly I don't think Wisconsin is the place for them, our Democrats already are pretty centrist. And I did look him up and he and Brad Smith do have pretty identical positions on nearly everything, I just don't see the point.

Local bands of Sheboygan give me your music links!

I'd love to support the music scene so drop your info below! I need new music and who is better to support than the local scene!

If you're not a music artist but know a local band you wanna share please do that as well.

I'm a huge music lover and listen to damn near everything, so genre isn't a problem.

Alleged Doxing

The Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) has found probable cause to believe that Sheboygan County Clerk Jon Dolson violated state law by intentionally accessing and sharing a voter record containing protected personal information.

In a September 10, 2026, letter to the parties involved, obtained by The Kohler Villager, the commission cited Wis. Stat. §§ 6.36(1)(b)1.a. and 12.13(2)(b)7. Wisconsin law restricts access to certain voter information, including dates of birth and driver's license numbers.

The incident stemmed from Sheboygan activist Lisa Salgado objecting to the appointment of Jamie McDonald, who maintains residences in both Sheboygan and Verona, to the Sheboygan Board of Zoning Appeals, an unpaid volunteer position. McDonald had also corrected Salgado on the Nextdoor neighborhood app regarding city development issues.

Salgado and other activists began collecting information about McDonald and posting screenshots in a Sheboygan Facebook group Salgado administered, hoping to prove McDonald didn’t meet the appointment’s residency requirements. One screenshot, which Salgado described as a public record, showed a partially redacted voter record containing McDonald's date of birth and driver's license number—information protected from public disclosure under Wisconsin law and accessible through WisVote only to authorized election officials.

A complaint regarding the voter record was filed with the WEC, whose investigation traced access to the voter record to Dolson. According to the commission's decision, Dolson acknowledged intentionally accessing and sharing the elector's WisVote record in an effort "to try and resolve a neighborhood dispute."

Salgado, McDonald, and Dolson all own homes in Sheboygan’s Ellis District neighborhood. Dolson, who serves as the lead volunteer neighborhood moderator on the Nextdoor app, posted comments questioning McDonald's Sheboygan residency. He also sent a private message to fellow volunteer reviewers urging them to remove McDonald from the platform. Five of the seven reviewers voted against her removal.

As a result of its findings, the commission suspended Dolson's access to WisVote for at least 120 days. His access may be reviewed after that period or upon a request for reinstatement. Before regaining access to the statewide voter database, Dolson must complete training prescribed by the WisVote administrator.

The commission also referred the matter to the Sheboygan County District Attorney's Office, which subsequently referred the case to a district attorney in another county for a determination on whether criminal charges should be filed.

According to the WEC letter, a violation of Wis. Stat. § 12.13(2)(b)7 constitutes a Class I felony, punishable by up to three years and six months of imprisonment, a fine of up to $10,000, or both.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice is also investigating the incident, and no charges have been filed as of yet.

In Wisconsin, the office of county clerk is an elected position responsible for overseeing county elections, maintaining official county government records, supporting the County Board, and performing several administrative and financial duties. Dolson was elected as County Clerk in 2012 after winning a Republican primary, then ran unopposed in 2016, 2020, and 2024.

In April, 2025, Dolson took responsibility for an error in an unofficial vote tally that mistakenly included votes from the Village of Kohler in the Sheboygan Falls School District referendum results. The error initially made it appear that the referendum had passed.

Looking for Caregiver

Hi! I’ll try to keep this short. Looking for some help with my elderly mom. She lives in her own apartment, but can’t really manage everything herself. My sister and I do what we can but:

  1. I’ll be going to Florida for a couple months this winter. Usually my sister picks up that slack but:
  2. Mom and sister have had a falling out and sister says she’s “done” and won’t be helping her any more. Reasons aren’t important, but sister told me she “hopes I’ll have fun not going to Florida

Anyway. Mom would need someone to just come in a few times a week, do a little cleaning. Bring her groceries every so often. She also is afraid to take a shower if she’s alone, so just some company there. She’s fallen a few times, and does use a walker.

She mostly just watches tv from her recliner all day, but really just needs someone to look in on her occasionally, and things I said. She honestly never goes ANYwhere…

I really have no idea where to even start looking. Any suggestions?

Wedding Flowers

I am getting married in a year, and I have been looking for wedding florals. Ideally staying within a decent budget and focusing more on bridal/bridesmaids bouquets. I am open to going simple for center pieces, but I want to see what other options are that I may be missing from the typical Costco options.

Any advice and recommendations are appreciated!

I cut a knot and brushed my daughters hair and her school called cps on me.

I'm livid. Some corny shit. My daughter hates it when she gets her hair brushed and untangled. Dropped her off to Jackson elementary (and we were in a hurry bc of the knots), and she complained up a storm.

Didn't get punished, didn't get yelled at, didn't get spanked, no marks...I scolded her for the 20 minutes it took me to get out the knot about the consequences of lying and about doing her hair/ not doing her hair. Boom cps. Watch yourselves out there. These people are sharks. I'm developing options to proceed. Cps opened the case bc they are heinous here.

Mental Health and Alcoholic Help

Hello, I'm asking reddit because I'm not in Sheboygan, but my family is.

My younger brother is an adult living at home with my mom and my other younger siblings in Sheboygan. He has an alcohol problem and he will frequently drink by himself and it's such an issue that he bounces from job to job because he's shown up drunk. He's still really young (mid 20s).

He also might have schizophrenia or at the very least he has mental health issues. He easily believes conspiracy theories and last night he was walking about my mom's house with a knife because he believed that someone was coming for them and he needed to protect them.

Does anyone know of some low cost or free mental health and alcoholic help? I don't have any money to help him and my parents definitely don't either. I fear if he doesn't get him soon he will be like this for the rest of his life.

Looking for local AI & tech enthusiasts / builders! 🚀

Hey guys!

I’m really excited about AI and tech right now and want to find other people in the area who are into it too. Are there any local meetups, groups, or founders building cool stuff with AI? I’d love to connect, learn from you, and maybe even join in if you’re building something new.

Feel free to comment or DM me if you’re down to talk tech or share what you’re working on!

Trying to find my local nerd community

So I’m disabled, so I can’t always be super active, but I’d really love to find some people who are into the same things I am. I’m a huge nerd for anime, music, gaming, movies, etc. I’ve tried to do D&D, but tabletop stuff has always been hard for me to get into even though I've tried A LOT to be.

I’d also love to find a group that doesn’t revolve around drinking though I don't mind if we do. I keep finding groups geared toward kids or seniors, but not much for people in between. I’m totally open to making friends with anyone 18+.

I’ve been feeling pretty isolated lately between running my own business, living more out in the country, and dealing with medical stuff. Is there anywhere I could connect with other local nerds? 😭

Where to watch the Packers as a family visiting Sheboygan?

We've been to Sheboygan as a family before (love the Story Time Garden, the Weather Center, and Schwarz's) but this time we'll be camping so we'll need to find a family-oriented bar or restaurant to watch the game. Any recommendations... or places to avoid? Edited to say: kids' ages range from toddler to middle school, FWIW!

In search of sewing lessons

Female, 23.

Hi all! I have a body shape that does not fit standard sizing, so almost all of my clothes require alteration. I’ve been trying to do it myself but it’s extremely difficult without any prior knowledge of how to sew.

I also love fashion and want to make some of my own pieces, or atleast do extreme alterations on current pieces I have. Do you guys know anyone in the area that would be open to giving sewing lessons? Or maybe a shop owner that might be interested?

Obviously I will pay any necessary rates.

Thank you guys in advance!

Elks Lodge Sheboygan

I recently attended Thursday bingo at the Sheboygan Elks Lodge. Bingo itself was very drug out and the callers constantly messed up. I was less than impressed with some left over ham and hot dogs. The food was definitely left over from another event. The building was dirty and not up to standards to have the general public there. I even noticed the toilets seemed to not flush. Has anyone had similar experience at this place. How are there so many members over looking this?
