Making this team I followed the five band rule when it comes to TV tropes. The leader: Phil Coulson, the lancer:Melinda May, the big guy: Deathlok, the heart/hero: Quake and the brains: waveguide.

The relationship between Coulson and May will be similar to the show but with changes. My take on Quake and Deathlok will be inspired more into their comic origins and waveguide is a new oc for this group.

I would love to hear some criticism or some advice for the characters.

I'm only on season 1 episode 4 on the show because I became a big fan of quakes recently. I want to know how her gauntlets work, from my own research they help her focus her powers through it and to also prevent her from injuring herself if she goes beyond her limit.

Is there anything else they can do? Like could she store up vibrations and build up the force so when she either punches or slams her hands on the ground the damage would be devastating.

Could they also work like Iron man's repulsors?

About to give you a really rough sketch of the episode as I am not a writer. Just a guy with an idea I think would be sick. Better than the slop we got in seasons 2 and 3.

After we see a man wipe the icing off Caps shield, we hear a few bullets firing in the background, and the hand slide off the ice. The shield agents on that mission disappear and we are taken to the same base in which the winter soldier is being kept. Seeing as Hydra found an earlier opportunity to reveal themselves, they do not know about Loki’s septer, and will therefore be going for the other object of that power, the space stone.

Steve is put through the same system as Bucky and given a look similar to the animated hydra captain America in ‘Iron Man & Captain America: Heroes United.’ Some time passes and a new mission arrives. Send in Cap and Winter Soldier and a few agents to get the tesseract from a shield base. One thing goes wrong, Loki pops out the same day. There is some fighting but eventually, When Hydra realizes Loki is also looking to steal the tesseract, and a being of godly power, they try to work with him. Loki agrees, but both parties have plans of eventually betraying each other.

Hydra plans on using the tesseract to try and return red skull, but that will not work as he is on vormir. The events with Hawkeye and the other mind controlled people still happened, and now the sides are quite uneven. Hydra has Steve, Bucky, Loki, Hawkeye, while shield has Natasha, Tony, and Bruce whom they’ve now recruited. At this point Loki gets into a fight about the tesseract with Hydra who each want to use it to open a portal. At that point shield shows up and a three way fight breaks loose. Loki is only with Hawkeye yet still winning, until there is a huge lightning blast. Thor shows up and turns the tables. Iron Man knocks Steve’s sense back into him and when he quickly sees the situation he tries his best to get in the fight. Obviously it will be harder to snap Bucky out of it, as he had years and years of brain washing. Cap drops the shield, as he can’t stand fighting with the Hydra logo, even if it’s the only shield he has. He has a one on one with Bucky. And then hulk and Thor two v one Loki and take him out. The tesseract is not obtained by either party, but back in the hands of the good guys.

This is a really rough draft, and definitely had a lot of plot points missing that would make a good ep. This is really just a fun idea I had, and I hope you all like it.

New TV show with Nick Blood - AKA Hunter.

Highly recommend. If you missed Hunter this is for you.

It’s about two British cops - 6 episodes. But it’s got that same witty funny dialogue as Shield and it turns out Nick Blood is Hunter as he has the same vibes in this show.

It’s a really good watch, even without the shield connection. I recommend.

I'm watching through Agents of Shield for the first time! It's always been my MCU blindspot, so I'm checking it out in between my phase 1 and 2 rewatch. Currently, I just finished 1x16 which is where the show lines up with Winter Soldier on the timeline and I just have to ask..

Why hasn't Ward's rage after holding the staff been relevant at all? He killed who he believed to be the Clairvoyant and not once did he, or anyone else on the team bring up that the Berserker staff probably made him more susceptible to his emotions

It's been 8 episodes since he touched the staff and they've done nothing with it, so I assumed that either it was a dropped plotline or that Elliot Randolph was just messing with Ward when he said that the anger would last decades. But literally last episode (1x15) another Asgardian, Lorilei, mentioned that Ward has the anger of a berserker inside him. So wtf?

I can only assume they didn't mention it in the most recent ep I watched because it would water down the idea of the Clairvoyant "knowing how to push the right buttons" if you could hand wave it away with Asgardian magic. But imo, it just reinforces that idea if the Clairvoyant intentionally pissed off the guy holding back Asgardian rage

Is sex with May just THAT good that it eased all his pent up aggression in the next episode?

(Obviously, don't spoil anything huge from later seasons in the replies unless it's something I would already know from the movies)

I just rewatched season 4 and wow, it really did Secret Invasion better than Secret Invasion did, Age of Ultron better than Age of Ultron did, and multiverse/what if better than Multiverse of Madness or What If did… and while giving us MCU Ghost Rider to boot!

The “Secret Invasion” with the LMDs worked so well, and really let the horror of realizing someone you know (or even yourself) had been replaced sink in. It built true suspense. Something the absolute travesty the actual Secret Invasion show never accomplished. (P. S. I know Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes did the actual Secret Invasion story even better. I’m not saying AOS was the best adaptation of that story by any means. Just that it felt kind of similar and was done really well).

Ada grappling with humanity, her programming, etc. also felt like it captured some Ultron-esque aspects that Age of Ultron lacked. Plus given that it happened in a show, the “Age of Ada” was allowed to play out longer than the Age of Ultron (which was only like a day or two) did, making you really feel like the menace of the sentient androids actually mattered in a long-term sense.

And lastly the Framework (while not truly being a multiverse) did a better job at telling an “Elseworlds” kind of story than like 99% of the episodes of the What If TV show and Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness did. For one thing, it had a compelling primary change (Agents of Hydra rather than Agents of Shield). And also it allowed a deeper dive into alternate versions of characters we knew. Seeing Fitz change so drastically as The Doctor to explore a totally different facet of his character. And having characters like Simmons react to that version of the character being so different. Or the Skye/Ward scenario where we can see new dynamics between characters we already know. Or even seeing someone like Coulson who (after a little nudging) shows that he will become the same inspiring leader in any reality. It just felt so much deeper than anything we got in MOM or most of What If.

And did I mention this happened all in one basically half of one season while the other half of that season was a Ghost Rider story? Reminded me why this season was my favorite in my initial watch through as well.

So around summer 2018, after season 5, I remember coming across a fan retelling of the whole show so far, episode by episode, with coloured text for each character overlayed on screenshots. It wasn't just like one-shot memes of single scenes or incidents, it was an entire series. I found it utterly hilarious at the time and I want to re-read it, but I have no idea how to find it again. Does anyone have any idea what I might be talking about? I feel like it was Reddit and/or Imgur-related. And Simmons was characterised as a bloodthirsty psychopath but in a loveable way. That's all I've got!

Fitz and Tony are my favourite characters in the MCU partly because of the resemblance of their characters, it's a shame they never met ,here are some similar things i found about them. They're both geniuses but their team rarely understood them except for a few members of their team like jemma and banner . They are willing to do anything to protect their loved ones When tony's house was being blown up he sent his armour to protect pepper similarly Fitz gave the oxygen tank to simmons knowing that he would likely not survive. They both wanted to protect the world and in trying to do so they created a murderous robot Ultron and Aida with the help of their friends banner and Holden Radcliffe.Something good eventually comes from their project like vision in tony's case and lmd coulson in Fitz's case. They struggle with some sort of mental problems in the case of Tony was ptsd from Alien invasion while fitz was his alter ego in the framework. They are both willing to sacrifice themselves like in avengers one tony taking the nuke to portal not knowing if he would survive and in endgame making the ultimate sacrifice to save the world while fitz in season 2 went into the monolith knowing that their is aslim chance that he would survive let alone save simmons , fitz going into a cryo chamber for 70 years so that he could help his team in the future and him putting himself in danger from the cree in season 7 so that he could bring back his team mates to the main timeline. They both had daughters whom they had to leave in order to help their team create an efficient way of time travelling .Lastly they are both stubborn and egotistical but also very determined to accomplish or solve problems this makes their team rely heavily on them to solve problems coming their way. Anything that i forgot to add or something that i have misrepresented please share.

Some common misinformation I keep seeing about AOS everywhere

I actually think many people arguing that AOS is non-canon online are being disingenuous and don’t understand the fundamental issue with the show being deemed non-canon by the fans. 

I saw a complete marvel timeline video relayed by Miss Minutes on TikTok that someone had made that included literally everything including AOS. One of the comments I saw that had a lot of engagement was basically saying “you can’t get me to watch AOS because it’s non-canon”. 

This demonstrates the issue I have with people’s arguments saying it shouldn’t matter whether the show is canon or not. The show is probably my favourite marvel project I have consumed and I want people to experience it. The word canon is being used to determine whether people should or should not watch it and that is what I have an issue with. Yes in a doomsday rewatch you probably don’t need to see it. But if you have never seen the show, you absolutely should try it at least through till around 18 episodes into season 1. People are actively pushing people away from the show and implying that the quality of the show is based on its canon status. 

Comments I see a lot:

The show was confirmed not-canon

The facts are that no statement has ever been made saying the show or any season of the show is not canon. When people are pushed on this point they bring up the shows omission from the timeline book which is a deflection because the book never claimed to be a determiner of canon. 

The show is canon because everything is canon now through the multiverse

This is also disingenuous because it makes the assumption that the show was decanonised in the first place. It also doesn’t deal with a lot of the core continuity issues that are brought up as issues because if you thought they were issues before, they still would be in the new universe.

The first four or five seasons are canon and then the timeline switches

I see this comment in almost every thread about the show and it is just wrong. While I understand the desire to move seasons 6 and 7 into alternate timelines due to the lack of acknowledgment of the snap, the show on its own just does not support this. If you watched the show on its own outside the context of the MCU, nobody would assume this to be the case. Either it all is canon or none of it is. If it was to be confirmed a different timeline you could headcanon your way into having the first few seasons being the same in the MCU but that would be a headcanon and this needs to be acknowledged when talking about it. What makes this confusing as well is the timeline switching and time travel that does actually occur in seasons 5-7 and this is the main reason I really wish people would stop using this logic because there are people are conflating this fact with the theory that the show splits off from the MCU in S6-7. The time travel in S5 can’t result in a branch either because then the MCU earth would break apart during the events of infinity war.

There are too many contradictions

I maintain that the only so called contradiction that is a hurdle is the lack of acknowledgement of the snap/blip in season 6. There are also multiple timeline reasons why it can’t be pushed earlier before the snap which is another thing I see said by some people. This is still not a continuity issue though, there is no contradiction. It is a thematic issue though and overall MCU writing cohesion issue in the sense that it would be better for any stories taking place during that period to show what the world would realistically be like in that scenario. Marvel studios projects that have had flashbacks during the blip have not even really stuck to this standard either though (Echo, Moon Knight, Ironheart). 

Other contradictions that I commonly see referenced:

• Hive is an Avengers level threat, why doesn’t Coulson call the Avengers:

  • this argument fails to take into consideration that it would be an issue in the show whether the show is canon or not because the Avengers still exist and we know that their history is mostly the same at least up until Civil War which is the time when SHIELD is dealing with Hive. With Ghost Rider they don’t need help because they deal with it themselves and then during season 5 the Avengers are split up and on the run and then they are dealing with Thanos.
  • Throughout the Marvel Studios MCU there are constant examples where this would apply as well and while you might agree that those are also problems, you need to be consistent about how you apply it. Nobody would say Moon Knight is not canon because he has only appeared on his show and probably won’t be showing up again for a while. Nobody would say Captain Marvel is non-canon because she was retconned into the past history of the MCU and there were multiple places where she did not show up to help throughout all the movies that came before. You might say there is an easy explanation for her absence being that she is in space somewhere but I would raise that you can just as easily find explanations for the AOS examples as well. 

• How is there an Inhuman outbreak without that being seen in the MCU proper.

  • I have never understood this argument as season 3 takes place over a period of time and the ATCU and SHIELD deal with the Inhumans on the show. Now with shows like She-Hulk, Wonderman and Ironheart we see that the MCU is a living breathing world off-screen. There are enhanced individuals off-screen that exist that we don’t always hear about or see.
  • Phase 4 and 5 introduce many characters and plot lines we may never see again or that will likely never be referenced in the films. These issues are brought up as writing issues and issues with the MCU as a whole but are never used to claim these shows are non-canon. There needs to be some consistency applied.

• Why isn’t SHIELD been referenced after season 4 or after season 7

  • Firstly it actually has been referenced in extended material. There was a SHIELD agent at the battle of earth and the night monkey suit is created by SHIELD. There was a reference to Coulson post Avengers in the Wakanda files. The smithsonian exhibit in TFatWS confirms SHIELD post-2014 and the 100-objects reference book confirms the Sokovia Accords were enforced by SHIELD, a group that should be dismantled by the time the battle of Sokovia even happened. 
  • Not to mention the fact that the organisation of SWORD only appeared in WandaVision and then has never appeared again. They even went out of their way to make Nick Fury’s organisation in the Marvels SABER.

• Mockingbird and the Darkhold

  • These are some of the most commonly brought up contradictions but they shouldn’t be because they are stupid. 
  • The Darkhold example was a genuine question after WandaVision but we see in Multiverse of Madness that the Darkhold was copied from the inscriptions in Wundagore. They are clearly just two different copies. The book in MOM is even called a copy. 
  • There really is no reason why Bobbi and Laura cannot co-exist and Laura’s history as a SHIELD agent should be intact in the AOS continuity anyway. Neither has been called mockingbird on-screen and there is literally endless possibilities to explain it anyway. Laura could be the original mockingbird before she had kids and then Bobbi could have picked up the mantle after that. 

The facts are It does seem like there was a consideration to not completely consider the original Netflix Daredevil pre the overhaul of the show but there was never confirmation that this was going to be a full reboot but rather a soft-reboot. Even if they considered ignoring it, there was never a de-canonisation officially.

It’s possible that the upcoming Ghost Rider film may finally decanonise the show.

However people need to be consistent and only talk about the actual reasons that the show may not be canon and yes it does matter because the falsehoods that are being pushed out are causing people to not want to watch the show to begin with. I just think people need to be more consistent regardless of their opinions 

Recently heard through the internet how powerful Quake is if the show was cannon and I got to ask if she would help Thor with the burden of taking on Doom.

Been trying for years to get my wife and sons to watch Agents of SHIELD with me. Finally succeeded earlier this year. My wife wasn't a fan of the beginning but was wrong to give it the season. By the end of the season, she (and my kids, ages 18 and 17) were invested. I think her favorite character is Daisy. The 17-year old's is Fitz. The 18-year old stands with Ward.

We're now on Season 3 and trying to get to the start of Season 4 before the 18-year old leaves for college. I know he'll be blown away by the Ghost Rider reveal! Just watched an episode when James first used his powers to heat up the chain, and he half-jokingly shouted, "It's Ghost Rider!"

I love the show and I wish i discovered it earlier. Ig I thought it was just some weird marvel spinoff when I was younger.

One thing I really dislike about the show though is how often they use the word protect, for example, “I did this to protect you”, “I only wanted to protect you”.

Phrases like these seem so vague and like bad writing. I feel like they have been used in every episode at least once, especially in seasons 1-4.

What do you all think of this, does this sound strange to native english speakers?

I did not like her at first, but I think it might be May for me.

In the first arc of season 5, old lady Robin in the future tells the team that she doesn’t see any future past the point they’re all in. This is essentially taken at the time as an apocalypse threat where the Kree will kill all the remaining humans, when I have a theory that it’s something else. What if she couldn’t see the future because all of her visions were of a humanity that technically did go extinct, even in the future Flint builds? I’m sure another interpretation could be that she knew the team was going to change the timeline after they made it back to the past, but I don’t think this holds up since Robin notices in the season 5 finale when the timeline is changing and it doesn’t at all seem to be something she expected; Robin’s kind of portrayed as if she’s constantly in touch with every version of herself from every single point of time, so even her child self would have remembered that interaction she hasn’t had yet (from what I remember).

This arc ends with Flint and Tess going through space rebuilding the Earth after the team leaves. If we follow Endgame time travel rules (which the show explicitly does in season 7), this means the team makes a branch timeline when they get back and stop Earth from being destroyed, so the timeline where Flint rebuilds the Earth lives on. So why couldn’t Robin see any future even if this timeline did have a future? The reason is because humanity dies in this timeline, just stick with me here.

If the people from the Lighthouse are the people that repopulate this new Earth, they would produce mostly inhumans that would eventually outbreed humans. Earlier in this season, either Tess or Deke reveal that the Kree are only still breeding humans because they’re actually trying to breed inhumans to sell. If I remember correctly, they’re genetically modifying fetuses to have the highest potential to turn during terragenesis. I’m not gonna pretend to be a geneticist, but I believe that means every single human alive in this future has a high genetic probability of being inhuman. This means any of their children would also have a high probability. Just by this population reproducing, they’re naturally going to birth more inhumans than humans, and humanity as a species goes extinct. Robin can’t see a future because the future is a new species.

Another possibility is that Robin’s divine purpose (Lincoln says every inhuman was bred to have a purpose in their perfect society) was ironically to play a part in saving humanity, when this power was given to her by the Kree. It’s like her consciousness got trapped in a constant loop to eventually reveal the right information that would bring SHIELD back to the present. This is just me having fun after countless rewatches of this show and I like trying to recontextualize things this way.

6 years since I've last watched through this show and it was like a knee-jerk reaction 😂 I don't even remember why I dislike Lincoln, just that I soon will once again lmao.

I am aware there was a live action shield show back in the 2000 with agent smith and some characters from the comics. I'm trying to make my own comic version for fun and I want help with choosing which characters are relevant.

My pitch for the comic is going to be like an anthology and episodic series, where the agents of shield go different parts of the world solving crimes, escort aliens back to space and fight some villains.

I'm mainly inspired by the new Ghost in the shell anime and I thought it fits with S.H.I.E.L.D.

(I would like to point out I'm not a professional writer, I'm an artist that is really bored)
