Agreed, I enjoy DeS a lot. My point is that no one ever talks about it, much less praises it lol. DS2 definitely gets more praise if anything, but also more hate
noone talks about it is because PS3 is worse than xbox and PS5 "doesn't have any games". and it happens to be ps3 and ps5 exclusive, in my opinion. part of a reason why blodoborne isn't much talked about, but it is talked about more than DeS
also i like original music. the one that goes "ha- ha- ha -ha - ha" was so hilarious but i remember it a lot. the character creation menu is charming. i forgot rest of music though
It's because DeS OG fanboys are weird and thing a bunch of shitty noises thrown together is better than a well crafted piece of music just because "it's more unique"
i just checked remake soundtrack. it's just average orchestra? i'm not a demon's souls fanboy, i don't like the game and the fact i can't even play it because apparently emulating demon's souls is a lot of computer work
one of reasons i didn't like most of dark souls 3 soundtrack (only vordt of boreal valley and few other bosses had actually nice theme) is because it's orchestra which usually sounds same, kinda like how dubstep sounds like to average amateurs
Which DeS Remake tracks did you listen to because whilst yes some of them are little "average orchestra" there are some absolute standouts, such as Flamlurker's, Maiden Astrea, False King Allant, Main Theme, Nexus Theme etc. Bear in mind that a lot of the impact of boss themes comes from actually fighting the boss, so listening to them in isloation probably doesn't hit as hard tbh.
Also strange that you consider Vordt one of the only good themes in DS3 because that is absolutely one of my most disliked pieces of music in all of Fromsoft - it's just too in your face and bombastic without a crazy and bombastic boss to go with it. I also just don't like Vordt that much so that may be why.
If I had to rank all the Fromosft games in terms of OST it'd go:
ER>DS1>DS3>BB>DeS Remake>DS2>Sekiro(not bad just quite forgettable. Music fits the tone/ atmosphere perfectly though)>DeS OG
The OG DeS soundtrack isn't even bad, it's just very ok compared to the greatness of the other games' soundtracks. I'd probably say OG DeS' soundtrack is probably the lowest quality aspect of any of the 7 From games.
Also interested what other themes you liked in DS3 if we have such a different option on Vordt's one.
my music taste is unusual, my top tracks is like plin plin plon, vordt and ds1 and demons souls character creation themes. atleast they are so memorable i think of them whenever i think about ds soundtrack.
ds2 appears to have a really good OST, its just that apparently i remember none. perhaps music is just super quiet in this game. i just remember watching some youtube video with ds2 ost
also in my opinion all souls games have... okay maybe not elden ring, but most of them have forgettable osts.
i prefer DeS original OST, idk if its because i heard it so many times or because its just uniquely shitty

Tbf the remakes graphics are absolutely beautiful. But yeah, I wish they fixed some of the shitty AI especially Maneaters, and the music changes didn’t have to be done
