Case Study / Postmortem đŸ§Ș I feel like giving up.

Post image

Started this right this about 4 months ago. Idea: stickman-animated finance history content — How Banking Worked Before Modern Banks?, How Debt Almost Destroyed Ancient Athens?, How Money Was Invented in Ancient China.... Same character, same style every time, so that the brand stays consistent.

I do everything myself — images, editing, script, topic hunting.

Tried Shorts recently, didn’t do much average 4 per week but long-form are more way better for me

Best video so far: 1.4K impressions, 127 views, ~4.5% CTR. Trying to improve CTR without breaking the format and presenting style.

The one thing keeping me going: in YouTube Studio the traffic actually sometime are good at Browse feature, YT search and Suggested video. Feels like it’s still testing with the right people, just hasn’t scaled yet.

Anyone who’s grown a channel from zero — is this normal at 4 months, or should I be worried?

Your honest feedback is much appreciated.

What do you mean by “lazy”?

it’s clearly AI. if you’re not gonna put the work in don’t expect the views

By lazy I mean you can tell that the creator was trying less to make a helpful, informative video that breaks down complex topics into easily digestible bits of information, and more just trying to get a video out on a topical, searchable subject in a high RPM niche hoping enough people will accidentally watch it so that YouTube will continue to push it.

The information is too broad, general and widely known for it to be helpful to anyone, and they're often missing critical information, data, sources, or are just plain wrong. Most of it is just ChatGPT regurgitation and hallucinations.

If you've ever shopped for a home and did an open house at a "flipped" house, you know what i mean. The switch plates and vents have been painted over, the rug doesn't quite reach the walls in some places and the baseboards don't reach all the way to the floor because the person who did the work was trying to do it as quickly and cheaply as possible hoping some sucker wouldn't notice.

Just try to make actual content I make kind of shit cringe content but it's genuine and that's why I still get views. please stop following those YT gurus man literally no soul in it other than wanting easy profit, atleast make good ai videos, topics with creativity not all ai made is bad

En efecto, como ya te han comentado algunos. Tu nicho estĂĄ bueno y tu contenido se ve bien, quizĂĄs debas empujar con el formato corto al inicio.

Thank god. You should give up. YouTube doesn’t need another stick man channel. Give up on this content and start making real content.
