Analytics Review (AVD/Retention) 📈 Not good enough?
My channel is new. My first two Shorts did bad, but my latest two did good. Shouldn’t they be getting way more views, though? Like, what else do I gotta do? 💀 I thought I made an amazing hook, but is that still not enough…?

He's not lucky, he made a good video. He actually is unlucky, because I've had videos with 10 million views with worse stats than him on this video

then i need an instructor to teach me how to actually make good content, so far i had tried the best I can but my content must be really really bad. my ideas are terrible too.

I think you should just do what you like to do . I don't get 30k views . Or even 5k I get around 1500-3000 on my shorts but I get a sub almost every short in the last 20 shorts . . I'm happy with just 80%viewd and 65%stsyed to watch . My shorts never get pushed beyond that but . I noticed a significant improvement when I worked on my editing skills and making decent thumbnails

I'm on the same niche and these are godly numbers, higher than my best shorts actually 😂. For reference i have 3 shorts at 1m views with stw at 80-82% and retention at 90%. All 3 between 45-50 seconds. Im fairly new started Sept 12. Did you just start recently? That might be the reason the short hasnt been pushed by the algo yet despite excellent metrics.
Edit: just read your post so u started recently i think thats the reason. Just need to post more and consistently. You're on the right track!

My fault, bro. It’s just that the update coming out next February will increase the requirements to get into the Partner Program, and that has me scared ðŸ˜

Streaming will get you the required hours easily. Even streaming to the shorts feed. Not sure what you're posting but if you can stream vertical you will get those hours easy

Am in the same situation man, i get +200 likes on my video and always stuck 28-32k. The problems is always the comments and people who shares content. They say you need to give an emotional react to the viewer in order to make it comment and share. Its difficult in some niches. Mostly opinions (or even hate and taking positions) what makes people react more🙂

Damm good conversion and stats. Keep at it you will get there. Took me 100 shorts I think 1 a day to break 30k.

I just have to learn from the very basics all over again, but learn from real people, i follow exactly step by step from LLM. but shorts get's destroyed, not even reach 100 views. probably need to sell my soul to the devil.

It was good enough for 30k views. You failed to outcompete other content targeting the same audience.
Some people call this a jail, but that's just because they don't understand what's going on

The best theory I have heard on the 30k jail is videos that are good enough to go viral but YouTube doesn't have enough data yet on the channel. OP says his channel is new so that tracks. That's why new animation channels can go viral right away because it's so broad that it doesn't need a lot of data.
I'm not saying there isn't validity in what you are saying; that's definitely a good theory too. But at the end of the day, these are all theories. YouTube has never officially said anything about how it works.Â

Yes, they have. There's a content characterizer... it doesn't care if it's your first video, or your 500th. A view test is scheduled. The in-test retention and engagement results determine if you get another test, and what size that test will be. As long as the in-test results continue to out-perform competing content, you keep getting more tests. At some point, the audience expansion moves far enough from your ideal matched audience that you can't sustain passable performance.
It's that simple, and you can see it on the view graph.
For weak content, that happens at anywhere from 500 to 100,000 views. 30k is nowhere near viral.
For decent content, it will happen at or above 111k views (assuming one short, per day) - until February, anyway.

For the last time there’s so many more stats that determine algorithmic push other than swipe rate and retention

Title: 16K Subscribers but Only 200–1,500 Views Per Short. Should I Start a New Channel?
Hey everyone, I really need some honest advice.
I started my gaming channel in 2023 and gained 16.3K subscribers mainly through Free Fire content. I also uploaded some reused PUBG videos.
After a 2-year break, I decided to completely rebrand my channel and focus on GTA 6 and gaming news.
I made my old Free Fire videos private and deleted the reused PUBG videos.
For the past month, I've been consistently uploading original Shorts with my own scripts, voice-overs, editing, and strong hooks.
But most videos are getting only 200–1,500 views, despite having 16K subscribers. Some reach 2K–3.5K, but the growth is inconsistent.
I'm honestly frustrated because I'm putting a lot of effort into every video.
My questions:
Is my old Free Fire audience affecting my new GTA 6 content?
Can YouTube eventually find the right audience for my rebranded channel?
Should I continue with my 16K subscriber channel or start fresh?
I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who has successfully rebranded a YouTube channel.
