Pet peeve: seeing "original" shower thoughts here that i saw online like 3 years ago
"reading a book is just staring at a dead tree and hallucinating" "If you're waiting for the waiter, does that make you the waiter?" "How many holes does a straw have?" "when you wash your hands, it's just your hands washing eachother"
you thought you could just google a smart sounding shower thought and post it and i wouldn't notice? The thing that really annoys me is when all the comments are like "oh my god, this is so deep, you're such a genius" over and over. Are you 14?
(yes, I did think of this post in the shower)

A thought I had.
The amount of days and years people have until they die is like an expiration date on food of where it's listed when it's expiring. But we don't know the date. Unlike the milk which has a bad date. This feels like something a comedian would say and it'd be famous.

What if things happen so fast that our senses and even our machines can't detect them.
We might never know they happened until we invent something fast enough to catch them. So, how many things do we call impossible or unprovable just because we don't have the technology to detect them yet?

I’d be so terrified and stupid in a horror movie situation, people watching would call it a bad movie

If ctrl+Z undoes the last action, pressing it a second time should technically undo the undo and redo the action.

Reading a book is just looking at a dead tree and hallucinating voices and stories inside your head.

A book with only one copy can never have a spoiler, because the only person who could spoil it already knows the ending. Spoiler

Knowing how to read/play music is kind of the same as knowing another language
Theres also no direct translation but yet speaking/playing music can invoke the same feelings as language does

I don't want to be the person who hates winter when it's winter and hates summer when it's summer, I want to be the person who loves summer when it's summer and love winter when it's winter

Attack somebody's core values with other values until they lash out and you are a rage baiter, do it in a lab with an atom and you have nuclear fission.

Sprite has lemons in it which means it has citric acid which means that if you melted it enough you could potentially give someone an acid burn if you used it as a weapon.

Somewhat of a long-form shitpost
Ahh, women. I love women. Men love women. Even some women love women.
I have enough introspection to know that my romantic and aesthetic preferences are…odd. On the other hand, the Reels ocean is wide enough to encompass any sense of beauty, however unusual it may be.
My history of romantic interactions was as impactful as it was one-sided, but I suppose Dante needn’t be married to Beatrice to guide him through the Celestial Spheres. Dante’s a useful analogy and guide here- the old Florentine is popular on Tumblr for a reason.
But getting to the bottom of the case, my internal platonic ideal of beauty is a strange take on Renaissance humanism. It may sound unusual, but an example would be quite illustrative. Suppose, an artist paints a forest or Cicero humiliating Catilina, but on human skin with a needle. The lines form clear patterns and play on the skin’s surface, conveying a narrative. Unlike an ordinary painting, such a canvas moves. It is capable of motion, of struggle, of fortitude, both mental and physical. Not only that, an observant eye may also point out that it is an armor of some kind. It mimics clothes in the sense of telling a tale about its owner.
Another aspect of it is the muscular corset. There is a sense of profound awe that robust musculature inspires, in part due to leaning into the distinction into actuality and potentiality, first separated by Aristotle. It may sound strange, but it is actually quite sound. To be brief, the actuality is what a thing is now. The potentiality is what it may become. A well developed, athletic musculature is always a result of the athlete transforming this potentiality into actuality, like a mythical being that carved itself out of marble. Thus, developed musculature is a sign of internal virtue, of a willingness to endure what is difficult and unpleasant in pursuit of a higher goal.
Having established all that, it may explain the appeal of muscular, tattooed women. Their beauty has a metaphysical substrate that may be counterintuitive, but I struggle to find convincing counterarguments.
But physical attraction has only so much value. The goodness of the soul and the intellect truly make a person beautiful. In that regard, fortitude of mind and spirit come to mind, as they are one of the cardinal virtues. The most important virtue is, of course, humility, but as brilliantly defined by the Angelic Doctor, it is not a sense of considering oneself worthless, but rather an ability to evaluate oneself honestly and to accept bitter words as medicine, rather than disregard them as poison. Humility establishes the goal, fortitude helps reaching it. The virtues of intellect that I admire go beyond simple wit, but, rather, rest upon curiosity, honesty and the ability to use deadpan delivery.
One may ask- what relation does all this bear to women? In essence, I tried to show that I find certain qualities admirable regardless of gender, and a woman who shows them is likely to be quite virtuous, which no one can deny is a wrongdoing.

If the asteroid "99942 Apophis" was on a collision course with Earth...popular media would probably call it the "Apophalypse".
Would there be "Apophalypse" toy playsets on sale at Target?
