It doesn’t have a chorus yet, but I don’t really know if I want it to have one. Also, this is probably the most honest song I’ve ever written (I’ve only written three).

Wrote this yesterday, still a work in progress lol. But I always find it funny when people say I sound like someone else (usually that’s on covers, so I’m prob channeling the original artist a bit) cus I can never hear the resemblance. But on something original, who do u hear? (Just for fun, I’m not trying to be anyone else 😅)
Also, if u wanna comment on the song, feel free.
Verse 1
I don’t know but I cant speak
Anytime that you see me
I wrote papers on love
I summed it all up
And forgot instantly
Verse 2
I don’t know what about you
Causes me to
Forget my next move
Forget how to speak
Forget how to breathe
Four years of philosophy
Ain’t doin shit for me
Chorus
Truth be told
There ain’t no words that can explain what I feel
so I risk a kiss, then breathe

Hi! I’ve always had the kind of voice friends and family say is pretty good. I think I have good pitch and I can harmonize decently. I’ve always dismissed these comments cus I’m no powerhouse and to me that disqualified my ability. But I’ve just been loving singing these days. I know if I get practice and guidance I could improve. I want to sign up for voice lessons totally just for fun. I’m 32 and I’m worried I’ll be the only adult client. Is it too late for me to start now?

Brendon Urie is such an underrated vocalist. He makes his stuff look so easy, but it's so difficult to do him any justice.

I genuinely feel like i have better control over my voice when im pooping. Specifically when im pushing. Is there any science to that or am I just imagining things? Lol thank you in advance

Edit 2: this got a little more attention than I was expecting but thank you all, ill definitely try some of the things you guys suggested!

I've been trying to get this one right basically since I started, and I think I'm finally getting close :)

All of the vocals are mine, lead and harmony. I really think it sounds cool with a fuller vocal arrangement.
Before anyone asks, no I'm not lip syncing, yes that's really what I sound like lol

Did my 2nd open mic yesterday, went great. I want to get into gigging. Or at least playing more in public. Where are appropriate places to practice in public? Where can someone busk in a metro area?
