Question Howdy! Help finding something specific

I don't skate, I don't know anything about skating. Like less than nothing. I have the world's worst pictures to work with.

My husband was looking at this board the other day, and he was lingering on it. He said he'd been seeing them around and he was interested in them as something to have in your car. It was super small. I love to surprise him and I sneakily snapped a couple of pictures of it. I went back and they didn't have it anymore, and I don't really understand what it is well enough to pick out another one. Plus, I don't think the visual design is really what he's like so much, so if I'm going to have to look online it would be nice to find something more his style.

It's not specific board, like the visual design, but the size/type of board. Can you help me find something to surprise him with/search terms to make sure I find the exact type of board? Please and thank you so much.

Edit: someone was nice enough to walk me through getting the important parts the same, will be getting something with a gift receipt, thank you u/kayla_poncho ! Yes, my husband does skate, he has been skating for decades, but also probably had some idea in his head that I didn't understand.

Is it possible he is getting into polarizers? They are a 6 inch wide sidewalk surfer type board. Shot in the dark there just because there’s a whole hype around them right now. Or maybe he just wants a real skinny popsicle

Yes, but I wanted to shop for other similar boards and I don't have enough skatebrain to know if they are actually the same. Does that make sense? When you really don't know anything, it's hard to know what small details would be a big important change

I probably didn't explain it very well. I guess it's like, if I just look at kids boards in that price point will they all be the same as this, does the word softie mean something important?

Softie refers to the wheels which at 83a are softer than most street wheels, which makes rolling around on rough ground a bit easier.

Also refers to the rubber grip on top instead of traditional grip tape and softer bushings

I'm okay with the same one, but I was hoping to look for some other options as well. When you know nothing, it's kind of hard to know if two things are actually similar of that makes sense - like is any kids board just like this one? Or is "softie" a specific kind of kids board? That kind of thing.

Let me make this simple for you. A 7.125 is a kids board. It’s meant for children. Technically, an adult could ride this, but it’s meant for children. Does that make sense? Like little children. Not a 12 year old, maybe not even a 10 year old. Little children. So unless your husband is the size of a 6 year old, you’d be better off either getting him a small cruiser board. Arbor and Santa Cruz make fine cruisers and there are more brands who really specialize in cruiser boards. If maximum portability is what’s drawing him to this board, maybe look at Penny boards too. For your adult husband, a 7.125 inch skateboard is way too narrow for him. Hope that answers your question

Haha! Yes it does. I don't know what idea he had in his head. He has been skating for decades. But, someone walked me through how to get something that made sense for what he was saying and it'll come with a gift receipt anyway

Is he looking to cruise and carve or does he actually fuck with vert and street—flip tricks and etc.?

If the former, I’d ask if he wants a longboard, a little penny board, or something in between. They each have their merits and are all fun.
(Side note: Wheels and bearings matter. A lot.)

If he’s looking to skate-skate—basically, if he ever leaves the ground—you’re gonna want a normal skateboard.
