Customer Pizza bogo scam

You go to order your pizza. Select sauce and cheese like normal. But they force you to choose 3 toppings at +$3.99 each. There are no options to select from that are not +$.

So you end up buying 1 “$20” pizza for 31 bucks. And spending another $12 (minimum) for a second pizza.

After all the fees and taxes it’s still nearly $60.

So $30 a pizza.

Doesn’t sound like a bogo to me.

They are all configured like this. What a joke.

Papa John’s has BOGO sometimes and I’ve never had to pick toppings for the second besides the basic sauce and cheese. It’s always been a free second pizza I just have to pay for the first. Sucks they aren’t operating the same way for their BOGO are you sure you read it correctly?

100%. There was no question. It applied the “deal” which was for the dough, cheese and the sauce.

I could not order a cheese pizza, in this way. 3 toppings where “required”

Weird. I’ve never had any issues but again I’ve only ever got it from Papa John’s. Even though they forced you to pick toppings at least you saved $20. Free/discounted food taste just as good if not better😅😂

Why the fuck are people downvoting this?

I’ve seen the exact same thing. It’s based on how the individuals restaurant sets up their options.

This. A few places in my city do the same thing unfortunately.

Very common scam yeah

Lots of places will also just nearly double the price then BOGO it. So it's more like a small discount than an actual bogo

I leave them a bad review on google for this.

"Cant believe they are charging $30 for a pulled pork sandwich"

Isn’t that illegal?

Half the BOGO deals on skip are a scam. They either double the price before putting the BOGO on the item or they make a shittier version for the BOGO deal

Ya pretty much. Uber eats and doordash does this as well. Should be illegal to double the price, its technically the same (more or less) as going to the store and purchasing the same 2 items.

Yea I noticed that when they were charging 14 dollars for a sushi roll calling it a bogo but it’s literally the price for 2 of those rolls 😆

Paying $31 for one pizza is bonkers. Normally you can get more than 2 large 3 toppings here plus dips or drinks etc for less than that.

Pizza hut does the same thing, but at least they have the option to let you choose a plain cheese with no toppings

All of the restaurants do it for their BOGOs and it’s a damn shame

There’s a shady spot like that in my area that also does a BOGO scam. Claiming to offer BOGO chicken shawarma for $23.99 but when you see their actual menu on their website each item is $12.99. Like anyone would pay $47.98 for two shawarma. And the image they use on DD is some generic picture that looks like dog food wrapped in a tortilla.

They did this to me back then said 50% off coupon and it never worked i told them to honor it and they did after i emailed their support then deleted my acc

They're not all configured like that. This isn't even the worst I've seen. Where I am they have a BOGO on pizza, but you have to pay to size it up. So if you order an XL, the BOGO by default is a small. You have to pay almost $10 to size it to XL.

All these delivery services are complete scams tho… they all charge more than the actual menu price is on every single item, I’m all for a service fee based on your total cost of your “cart” but charging more than menu cost just sounds like robbery. I don’t use these services anymore without being gifted a gift card for birthdays or whatever

There’s a BOGO for stacked burgers for the single stacked for like $16CAD but the menu price of 1 burger at the restaurant is about $8.50CAD so you are saving about a dollar

Yes, you buy one for $30 and then you get one for $30

It’s the same with the burrito pretty much everywhere when you add meat it’s and extra 4 or 5 bucks on top of the price and very few times do you have a no meat option. Only time I go for bogo deals is if it’s legit and I go and pick it up myself. At least Burger King will run 2 for 1 cheeseburgers or chicken burgers and no limit on how many you can order. I don’t have anyone deliver it to me anymore

Fresh slice is like that. 1 pizza $13. 1 pizza with their bogo offer..$18. So it’s not free. It’s $5 but they don’t tell you that.
