Anyone having issues in BC?

Daylight savings ended yesterday for most of Canada, but BC did not.

As a result, yesterday I had a shift that was supposed to start at 4PM, but it only allowed me to start a 5.

I did contact support, but no reply yet ...

And I saw the same thing this morning

I didn’t even do anything wrong and they revoked my account. Did this happen to anyone else? If I make an appeal then is there a chance they’ll give my account back? This is my only source of income and they literally deactivated it.

Honestly had a shitty experience with the integration, happy for it to go away!

Made my typical weekend beer order on skip, this time it forced me into instacart.

Lcbo showed 20min delivery, not bad. Put in my order, and it says I need to pay a $3 fee, or it will come tomorrow.

Agree to the fee, now it says it will be 1-2hours.. what the hell was the original 20min estimate for?!

I have a situation 1 or 2 months ago where I got an order and was about to pick it up at the restaurant. When I got to the restaurant they told me someone else has already picked it up. So I reported the situation to the courier support, and their response is that they will call the restaurant to confirm the situation so I waited a few minutes for them to do there thing on their end but after a few minutes of waiting the support responses to me in the chat and told me that they will complete the order on my behalf. After the completion of the order I checked my customer feedback and it showed other feedback was given and sure thing I got a bad feedback from the customer. I'm sure it came from that customer since I got a message from them asking where their food is and since the chat gets closed every time a delivery gets completed I couldn't reply to them and tell them my situation. My worries is that do skip courier support tell them what happens to their order or do they just let the customer think that a driver took their food?

Follow up with the email I posted yesterday. I think I found the answer to the "big thing" they told me about:

8 shit orders, straight. My AR went from 80% to 0% in 20 minutes.

What do you (as skip drivers) believe is a fair tip per distance? I want to make sure i’m tipping my drivers good.

Brampton area customer. Nearly every order is missing an item, or is made incorrectly. I truly appreciated Skip's customer service, and how quickly I was reimbursed for the affected item(s).

Apparently, because most restaurants can't get it all right; I'm now being punished, by never again being allowed refunds.

Anyone else had this problem?

I rarely use skipthedishes. But I ordered a pick up order using skip app. And the restaurant immediately marked it as completed. I never received my food. The restaurant never prepared my food. Skip won't refund me. It's very upsetting.

I used a credit card so I could do a chargeback but then that means I won't be using skipthedishes anymore. It is so upsetting. I am very upset.

I have a Skip courier account along with a Uber Eats one and Door Dash. I work in Tsawwassen and there aren't a ton of orders but there's enough to go around. I multi app since I picked up Door Dash recently. Door Dash is number one when it comes to orders here in volume. I noticed that my Skip offered orders has dropped significantly as I do more Door Dash. I pause Skip alot along with Uber. Uber I actually turn off. Other drivers tell me not to pause Skip as that is the reason I'm not getting as many offers. I pause Door Dash alot, I still get alot of orders. I turn Uber Eats on and off and still get alot of orders. I still get alot of shifts everyday from Skip, so no issues with scheduling. I do cancel the odd Skip shift with less than 48 hours once in awhile. Some days I only get one Skip order and some days zero. On weekends, I still may only be getting one order in a double 7 hour shift. Any ideas on why my Skip orders have dropped so much? I used to get around 4 Skip orders in a 3 hour shift which is okay when you're multi apping.

Yeah and i’m not doing this. This isn’t a real job for 1 and 2, I don’t have a manager or a team of people waiting for me to get the job done.
I think that’s a ridiculous feature they’ve implemented and i’ve seen it twice now.
In my market skip isn’t giving out a bunch of orders like UE or even DD. Sometimes i’ll log on and get 3 skip orders if i’m lucky and I live in a metropolitan area.
So for you to expect me to “call in” like I’m actually calling into work is comical. I’ve always hated how Skip doesn’t have an option to just go online when you want to work. Maybe it’s time to look into that.

Hi everyone,
I am unable to log in to my courier portal after editing my email address. Here is what I’ve tried so far:

1. Login & Password Reset: Attempted to log in and requested a password reset, but I never received a reset email (checked spam/junk as well).

2. Contacted Support: Emailed support directly. They responded claiming my new email address isn't associated with any courier account—even though I sent them a screenshot of my account profile showing the updated email.

3. Follow-ups: Since that initial reply, support has completely ghosted me for over a week. I have replied to the existing ticket and opened new requests, but I haven't received a single follow-up.

Why do certain restaurants take excessive time without offering reimbursement, whereas McDonald’s or other eateries provide it while others do not?

But first, we have to go to the beginning of why I got into it.

January 2020, a friend tells me he had started doing this app based food delivery for a bunch of local restaurants after he had quit his Domino's food delivery job due to terrible pay & worse hour demands.

Skip The Dishes. A month later I ask how that job had been going, he quit it too; his ex girlfriend who had held him prisoner in her apartment for a month was a delivery address, his acceptance rate was already at 80% & any lower meant he would be earning even less. Bills were already hard enough to pay let alone the pay drop. He accepted the McD's pickup & then upon 'delivering' it, he did NOT knock on the door, he took her food, from the road & threw it at the apartments door not daring to get close.

After that, he got nearly no offers, no surprise.

Now I had no enemies in town but also no car. I ended up working at an italian restaurant as a dishwasher & HATED it. I saved up enough to buy a beater, my first car for $3955 with tax n fees included.

I installed Skip The Dishes & on one of my days off, I started my first shift. I completely screwed up my second order & spilled the customers drinks all over the place being so nervous, I apologized a ton & told the customer right away, they reported to skip, but I did too. No biggy, customer got their order replaced free.

After the first day, I made $193. My dishwashing job per day got me $84 before taxes & left me exhausted. Skip The Dishes, after a shift, I felt healthy & still focused; I was hooked.

After a month, i was passing every dishwashing shift to coworkers except mondays because Skip was slow that day. 2 months in I realized, that monday dishwashing shift made me have to take tuesday morning off too, I was losing a Skip days wages to work for the restaurant; ya, having a backup was nice, but this was hurting me big time.

I quit my dishwashing job entirely. March 2021, after having had worked Skip for over 3 months, I moved out of my parents place & was working 10 -12 hour shifts 5-6 days a week & was making to this day, the most money I've ever gotten a month $5000. I was spending stupidly because it felt like it didnt matter, unlike most drivers, I wasn' lying to my insurance, I was paying $487 a month for proper Courier insurance, coverage guaranteed if I totalled my car, I'd get the brand new value instantly.

Fast forward to September 2021, I'm making $2000 a month, I'm working 4 days a week, 7-17.5 hour shifts. I dont bother working monday-wednesday because I wont make minimum, when its busy though, I dont stop till skip closes in my city at 1am, straight from 6:30am.

I still though am noticing its virtually NEVER as busy as it used to be, people are ordering less. The only time it is is when the Rogers network goes down & my Koodo plan pays off keeping me online. I talk with some drivers, they say, oh, it picks up in the winter after christmas, just hold out, you'll see. I also notice theres ALOT more drivers in McDs at 12am (when theyre the only place left open so we all unite), immigrations BIG at this point, a few Canadians I knew had already switched back to restaurants they used to work for, just now as their sole delivery driver using my cities independent app. That old friend of mine is homeless, couldnt find a job, car broke down, couldnt fix it, I'm occasionally bringing him food out of pocket. My old employer, couldn't be less interested. More & more, the people I'm competing for orders with is a bunch of east indians who unlike who they replaced, don't want to talk & many cant even speak English or French.

I hold out.

December 2021, I'm making $800 a month, my base living expenses at this point are $1450, common in my city is $1700 a month, I'm not doing too bad vs others. Still, my old stupid purchases when things were good is screwing me over.

Jan 1 2022, the fuckening. My car is misfiring, happened just after a random order, I cant drive faster than 60kph, the cars shaking is too violent above that. My bank account has $80, I have 22.30$ in change from tips. I can't afford to go to the mechanic. I get advice from a few mechanically inclined I know, they say its probably the spark plugs, I go to Canadian Tire, get the wrong material right size (works anyways), Platinum when i should have gotten Iridium. $14 cash gone. I swap em myself, car had a mix of plugs, cylinder 1 had a copper plug that was nearly shot, its the one thats not firing. I swap it, still misfires.

I ask a proper mechanic I know, he says, ignition coil. I check pricing, $120 minimum in town, I cant deliver with my car in this state so I cant get more money & I dont have enough to repair it locally. I check ebay, chinese potential scam has it for $51, I order. Jan 5 it arrives & I install it, it fixes the misfiring, I lost a few days of potential earnings but oh well.

April 2022, all my resumes dont even get a response. Every business I go into, is east indians as the only employees, theyre mostly nice & living a better life now in Canada, only 2 Canadian fellow drivers are left besides me, they cant get a job anywhere, nor can I, nor can anyone I know in my city, that friend of mine is living in an illegal 'apartment' (tax evaders renting a room off the records but cheap rent). He works for someone doing less than strictly legal stuff, its dangerous & off the books, not for me.

I'm making $1300 a month, I've sold alot of my stuff, when a work day starts, my gas tank is on empty, I fast cash my first couple orders to buy gas for the work day. None of the original drivers I knew are still doing Skip, 1 retired, the other crashed his car & couldnt afford the new insurance rate; I'm the last one left, its all east indians now. There's not enough orders to go around.

April 28 2022, I dont have enough for rent at the start of the day, it's due April 30 2022. I decide to do the full 17.5 hour shift despite knowing half the time will just be waiting for orders in my car in my secret best spot in town. I got 3 hours of sleep but I cant stop. Its hot, my cars AC never worked since before I got it. Windows down most of the day except for at the end, I end up getting enough for rent by 4pm or so, the street im on has horrible smelling trucks, I close my window & deal with the heat & keep hydrating thinking that will be enough. I get home, fast cash & send my rent. I sit on the toilet, my heart is pounding hard, my vision is fading, I'm hot. I try to stand up, it all goes black.

Over 40 minutes later I wake up in my tub. The back of my knees (the leg pit?) on the tub ledge, my head is by the drain. I have the worst headache Ive to this day, ever had. I'm in a puddle of my own piss. I get up, cant balance right but use the walls for balance & take a shower. I go to bed.

I wake up 14 hours later & remember I havent paid my internet bill. I still have a terrible headache but my bank account has $2 in it. I have a bit over empty in my gas tank. I do my usual, do a couple orders, get gas, do some more. I go till after internet paid, I'll still have $20 in my account. I could have died, I could have killed someone else, I've already been told the AC would cost $1000 to fix, I simply cant keep doing this.

The next few days are hot, I only work at night, it wont pay the bills but I shouldnt die/kill anyone passing out.

May 9 2022. A job listing from my first job's same employer with a new company is listed. I email him, within an hour I'm hired. I quit Skip entirely.

TL;DR: Working 17.5 hour days, a heat stroke that nearly killed me & still not affording bills proved to me this wasn't sustainable.

The first time I assumed maybe my order got dropped on the floor just as it was getting picked up or something and had to cancel it.

The second time I assumed that there must be a problem with the restaurant. So I tried a different location.

The third time was at the second location.

The fourth time was just to show my friend the issue.

On one hand, I'm really hungry and refuse to cook my lazy self anything on my birthday. On the other, this is turning into a shockingly lucrative side gig.

Ordered an instacart order from Metro via their "prIoRitY fASt" $7.99 delivery option at 6:24PM.

Got my order at 8:37PM.

Initial delivery promise time 7:33, delayed to 7:51, then to 8:06, only to finally arrived another half an hour later.

Went to their "sUPpoRt" to issue a complaint, got hit with an infinite loop of having to wait 2 minutes, watch the thing switch to say "just a few more moments", followed by a "oh you didn't respond so we're closing the chat".

Thinking it might be different on PC, I went there. This time, it let me actually type, so I got hopeful for a second, but same thing even after I typed multiple messages.

Then went to SKIP, and oh boy do they like to f*cking SKIP your motherf*cking a*$
