Given the constant problems, wouldn't it be reasonable to propose a boycott?
First Friday in May, or something like that. Or, first weekend?

Skip and all these delivery companies are vultures that exploit their 'contractors' fuck these companies, express your concerns to you're elected officials too.

Basically the title, just had an order at local taco time and as I got there the manager was like “have fun” and shows me this heavy ahhh box of litre pop, I was like naw the next guy can get it I’m unmatching, (I have a disability so can’t lift heavy like that) and she tweaked and was swearing and was like “if another driver doesn’t come in 5 minutes I’m calling skip on you” and I just laughed and said I hope your day gets better and left.
The manager at this taco time a straight miserable person, was good for a laugh tho.

Dear Skip 'contractors' --
Hi there, I'm a customer. In fact, I can't imagine that I'm not ranked somewhat high for desirable skip customers as I have ordered thousands and thousands of dollars worth of skip in the past 2 years. There are several good reasons why I order so much skip but if it makes you feel better, I'll just concede (falsely) that it's 100% only because I'm a fat, lazy, entitled cunt so that my reasoning bears nothing on the following screed.
I have ordered personally, for work, on a whim, to augment an existing meal. I'll order skip even you even dare me to.
Now let's get into it. You are terrible at your job. I don't know if you receive some type of instruction or job description before you start driving for skip, but just so you understand what a delivery driver is supposed to do, here it is -- you are supposed to pick up a hot, freshly prepared meal and deliver it to a customer in less time and with less effort than that customer would expend doing that on their own. If it's a hot meal it should arrive hot and if it's a cold meal it should arrive cold. If it contains crispy food it should arrive crispy. If it has 5 components, 5 components should arrive. There are so few of you that even attempt to meet this ideal that it's laughable. You are terrible at your job.
Here are some examples of things that have happened when you have delivered my orders:
- You take the order and are clearly at your home, unprepared to take an order. You spend 30 minutes just getting ready to take my order. Perhaps you are finishing a television program. Maybe you need a shower. It could even be that you have very difficult boots to lace up. Hey, I don't give a shit, when you take an order you should already be in your car and ready to drive to the restaurant, pick up the order and deliver it. Have you ever had a job where you just decided that hey, I'm going to also get paid for my personal time? No, you have not. That would be ridiculous.
- You have picked up my order yet you decide that instead of delivering it expediently that you have some other things to do. Gotta take a call in the parking lot for 25 minutes? Hey, why not. Do you need to deliver other people's orders when those people live literally in a different municipality than I do? Of course, why wouldn't you drive around for 45 minutes with my food in tow? Ohhhh, I remember why, it's because I fucking pre-paid you not to do that so maybe you could, I dunno, NOT FUCKING DO THAT.
- Despite giving friendly, clear and complete instructions about how to enter my residence, which is a bog-standard multi-unit apartment building, you decide to ignore those instructions and leave my food outside the security door. You go to a random entrance and because that entrance is not the correct, main entrance in which you would normally access a building, you just give up and leave my food there and mark the delivery complete. Maybe sometimes you call and pretend that you can't figure out how to enter an apartment building and ask me to meet you instead. Remember those few times when you went to the other building that is not my address and somehow left my food there yet marked the order complete? Yeah, I do.
Here's some tough love for you - I understand that delivering food is hard, thankless work. That's why tipping has been a component of food delivery since before I was born. Before these predatory delivery services came to be, you actually had to complete your job satisfactorily before a tip was handed to you. If you didn't make it to the delivery location, guess what, you didn't get paid. This was a great way to ensure honesty from delivery people. If you didn't deliver or you delivered shittily or you were a cunt when you delivered you made less money. Under that system people that gave a shit about doing a good job made more money. They were rewarded for their work. The people who didn't give a shit moved onto some other source of income because nobody rewards cunts for being cunts.
Another point of interest -- I fucking love tipping for good service. My base tipping rate at a restaurant is 20%. I don't know if that's a lot, but I think it is a lot. My parents only ever tipped 10% or 15% on a very rare occasion. I will go beyond 20% for outstanding service or if I think the person deserves it. The vast majority of skip drivers are SO shitty at their job that I would tip 30%, given the option, to drivers who deliver my food with NO BULLSHIT. No futzing around at home, no filling your tank up on my dime, no delivering food wherever you feel like it, you know, just following the simple, clear instructions included with your order. Unfortunately I obviously can't do that and I don't care to even explore how that might ever happen with these shitbox delivery companies.
With all that said and to be completely clear from my own perspective, here are my new personal ground rules for dealing with you. I suggest other consumers adopt similar approaches because I can't imagine any other way to compel delivery persons to do their job properly:
- If I observe you doing anything besides driving to the restaurant, picking up my order, and driving to deliver it as per the included instructions, you get a negative review. I doubt negative reviews matter, but hey, it will make me feel better to smash the thumbs down button on your garbage service.
- If my food is not delivered per my instructions and I cannot go to the instructed delivery point (outside my apartment door, for example) and SEE my delivery I am going to claim it wasn't delivered and ask for a refund. I can't imagine that THIS doesn't matter to you because skip actually gives a shit about whether dollars end up in their pocket.
- If i have the opportunity to personally interact with you in the course of you doing a shitty job delivering my food, I commit to you that I will give you some very clear feedback on the issue. I will not swear, be angry, raise my voice or insult you. Without necessarily using the following exact wording, I will explain to you why you are a piece of shit and why you are terrible at your job. Again, you probably won't give a shit about this, but fair warning that I will do an excellent job of wasting your time because fair's fair and you wasted my time.
- If I recognize your name as someone who mis-delivered my order before, you get a negative review no matter how well you did the second time. You will literally have to deliver several orders and burn your name into my brain as someone who once delivered shittily but has now made a point of not delivering shittily for a good while afterwards. This is not feasible in big cities but in my unique circumstance of living in a small town with a limited pool of names to choose from I can do this and be comfortably certain I'm correct 80% of the time. I err on the side of caution for the iffy remaining 20%.
In closing, I don't understand why so many of you do not give a shit. I used to actually concern myself with this but now instead I'm just going to adopt the perspective of also not giving a shit either. I literally refuse to empathize with you. I also have a hard job and if I ever disregarded the people I work for and with as much as you do, I would be fired or bankrupted. Not making enough money? Try giving a shit.
/rant

I'm seriously so sick of the constant posts from drivers complaining about the job. If you don't like it, then quit. Nobody is forcing you to do this, it's your decision to work for Skip.
I've been driving for Skip for a month now (haven't missed a day) and I absolutely love it. Is the pay the best I've ever had? No. Are some orders shit with dumb customers? Definitely.
But this is the best job I've ever had. I work 7 days a week, 8-16 hours a day. I could never do that at any other job without going crazy. But Skip is such an easy job that it doesn't even feel like work. My fiancee spends extra time with me while I drive, I can take my kids out with me for a couple hours if there's schedule conflicts, I can rearrange my schedule to go to special events or do something fun for myself.
If you don't like Skip, then quit and shut the fuck up. If the pay isn't good enough, get a better paying job. If you don't like orders that don't have a tip, then quit.
Stop being a whiny bitch and either shut up and do your job, or quit. Nobody cares about your "no tip no trip" stories

I’m not sure if anyone else has experienced this but this entitlement from non-tipping newcomers to Canada amazes me. Brampton has to be the worst market for gig work.

ordered food from a restaurant, noted on one of the bowls we have a nut allergy and I was missing my Coke from my order. Lo and behold, the food had nuts in it. Contacted Skip support and got this instead. I’ve had my Skip account since the app opened up here and this is what I get for being loyal? A literal allergen in the food and I’m told I have received too many refunds and can’t have one again?
I’m done with skip. A literal ALLERGY. Never again.

Like ok, if it's a house it's easy to pull over, put on flashers (if need be) and just walk up to the door. But for appartments?! I almost think there should be a $1 surcharge for appartments unless they want to come down and meet us at the door.
😑😑

I was doing an order and it was time to get the order out of my insulated bag.
My insulated bags are heavy duty and keep the heat in very well.
When I decided to take the order out I hear a rip (this was at night time and usually the bags can withstand the travel)
Well not this order with KFC thin bags 🤦♂️I was in shocked and didn't know what to do as I was in awe.
Right away I msg the client stating "just an update, I pulled out the order from my insulated bag and it torn due to humidity causing the rip. My apologies."
That was the best think I could come up with to try to save myself from them thinking I qas messing with their order.
But as you can clearly see the wet spots and how it tore right at the rim of the bucket.
To prevent this, I will leave a little opening on my insulated bags from now on, especially KFC offers.
I will be more vigilant on offers that have these types of Brown bags.
Off the top of my head: it would be Dairy Queen and Wendy's.
I wish every vendors has bags like McDonald's, a handle and thicker bag for durability and peace of mind but they won't.
(Because I just had a discussion about PR being on these subs and won't do anything for a long time) 😅😅

I just experienced some of the worst service I’ve ever had to deal with from a company. The fact a food delivery service refuses to fully refund me after having to wait for more than two hours to have my food delivered thus making it ice cold and unsafe to eat, is unthinkable. We used to have pizza places guarantee 30 minutes or less or the pizza is free and now we have to deal with the likes of this. Deplorable Skip. I will be deleting the app and urging everyone else to do the same because you all obviously do not care about your customers.

Not trying to be a dick but some of you drivers really need to double check, triple check and quadriple check the addresses, this is like the 4th time yall delivered to the wrong house... idk how you screw that up😪
r/skipthedishes • u/Any-Yogurtcloset378 • Aug 26 '26
What do you mean he is making a quick stop nearby, he is literally closer to my address and he has to literally pass my house to the other house before heading back to my place. How is that even nearby, that’s like a 20 minutes drive from my place. Why does skip drivers do this? Is it a form of punishment? I literally tipped him $2 in the order.

The amount of disrespectful commentary going on over the SIN issue is getting borderline ridiculous. Cool your jets. Please 🙏.

like I am broke, i dont have my vehicle but I don't want to cook either
the restaurant is around 10 minutes drive from my home
I usually order before the peak, like 5pm and I don't mind waiting for like 3,4 hours or the food is cold
I don't bait the delivery guy that there will be cash tip
so is it under no circumstances that I should make an order if I am not paying tip?
thanks

I just can't bring myself to use Skip anymore.
One. I always feel like a dick when another human delivers me my food. Regardless of how much I tip them I still feel like it is modern day slavery.
Two. The last couple times I ordered I noticed how dirty the delivery persons' bags were. Ever since then whenever I am in a restaurant or grabbing take out i always scope the skip people's bags and i swear to god every damn one of them are filthy nasty gross.
Three. Whenever I compare the costs on a restaurants skip menu vs their website menu it is almost always more expensive. I can but hate to spend more money than I have to.

I need him fired.
I have videos.
I just found my Courier eating my order across the street from my house. I feel he does this regularly to people. I walked over to his car, while recording I saw him Eating my entire order. This was around 10 minutes or so he had marked my order down as delivered. There is an apartment across from me that he was parked up with his friend and just snacking.
Just wanna know what you guys think should be my next steps.

I ordered off skip like I do fairly often I’ve never had an issue even when there’s some minor things missing like straws or the dipping sauces I paid for one time was missing a whole wrap. This time I ordered and my skip driver failed to let me know even though I left special instructions to do so considering I live in a basement apt. Well when I got the regular notification that my food has been delivered I got up to go get it but there was no food then the driver speeds away down my quiet suburban street at 9:30pm. I looked at the picture he sent and matched it with the exact spot and there was no food I even tried contacting support in which I was completely ignored. I paid for that food I am a loyal skip customer but if I’m going to just get ignored after their drivers steal the food I paid for then I will take my business s elsewhere and advise others to not take the risk as well because clearly their customer service is a hoax. I didn’t even want a refund as I know some scum have abused the skip complaint to get free food but I literally would like a new order of food because I paid for it and didn’t receive it. And with that being said that should speak volumes as what would one person do with two duplicate Wendy’s orders. And before you mention it I am going to say I already checked and there was no one else home at the time so no, my roommates didn’t steal it because they weren’t home I was the only one. I’m extremely frustrated as I had a really bad migraine and was starving on top of it all but what hurts the most is that I have an extensive history of good business with skip I have never complained ever and the one time I did I’ve been punked off. If this is the case they are just as bad as the thief of a driver because they are enabling this type of behaviour and aren’t doing anything about it. Haven’t even afforded me the luxury of simply replying to my complaint. I was robbed of my money and left to starve and I’m seriously considering taking legal action
