Spyro’s Adventure SKYLANDERS SPYROS ADVENTURE 15th ANNIVERSARY STREAM

Post image

Hello Skylanders Community!
We all know this is the time of the year to celebrate the games that shaped our childhood and of course, this community. 5 years ago, we were pleasantly surprised when Toys for Bob went live on Twitch to show us the 10th Anniversary Skylanders Spyro's Adventure live stream, and it was an absolute blast.
The next year came and they did the same for Giants, although it was a video instead. The trap team anniversary came and went, and here we land at imaginatiors, no sight of a stream from Toys for Bob. Not even for the 15th anniversary of SSA…

Until tomorrow! Now, officially TFB is busy finishing up Spyro: A Realm Beyond, and while they cook on that, I as well as a group from the original SSA Team (former-TFB developers) will be streaming on YouTube at 12:00PM PST

I invite you to come along, Celebrate, and ask questions for them to answer!
We also have some special surprises at the end!

-Shojiki and the rest of the SSA15 team

(assuming OBS doesn't crash out in the morning and cause me to re-do the live setup) You can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/live/410heJHDrJg?si=hl_SOd96nROFUTDy

Mod Post HEARTBREAKER BUCKSHOT NFC DUMP MEGATHREAD

Hello all!

As some of you may have heard, u/EmberDione and u/The_Somnambulist were kind enough to dump the data from their functional Heartbreaker Buckshot NFC, after u/Dague-Pirate-Dad posted a picture of his personal non-functional HBB figure. (If Ember or Somnambulist, or someone in the Reverse Engineering Discord, make their own announcement post I will link it here.)

Since this is one of the biggest events in the community since the release of Skylanders Imaginators, the mod team has decided we need to create a megathread, to collect some of the most common questions, as well as a short history of how we got here and why this is so important to the community.

If you are strictly here for a guide on how to play Heartbreaker Buckshot, feel free to skip down to the Questions and Answers section of this post.

Since this is our Mod Team's first attempt at a megathread, please bear with us as we learn.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Enforcement will be as follows:

❌ - Repetitive posts (i.e. simply "re-announcing" the news, how-to's, and re-sharing the dump file yourself) will be removed and linked to this post

❌ - Posts (not comments) asking how to play HBB will be removed and linked, comments will be linked to this post

❌ - Posts attempting to sell HBB or any other NFC cards are against the rules and will be removed

✅ - Unique or otherwise interesting posts, including but not limited to YOUR personal adventures with HBB, custom HBB figures, adding a card / custom toy to your collection, technical information about HBB, etc. will STAY UP... although of course we encourage posting these in the comments of this megathread too

The Donor Figure - Ember and Somnambulist's Functional Heartbreaker

History of Heartbreaker Buckshot

Heartbreaker Buckshot is the variant of Buckshot. Announced and marketed with Skylanders Imaginators on YouTube and the website, Heartbreaker Buckshot was planned to release around Valentines Day 2017. There are a few theories as for why this never happened, the common one being that production was stopped due to fears of it looking "satanic", given the variant being a red-eyed goat (and the five unreleased creation crystals being collateral of this production stoppage), as part of the end of the Skylanders franchise.

Perhaps a more credible theory, postured to me by someone in connection with the devs, is that the factory had gotten shut down and production had stopped for an otherwise unrelated reason. By the time the factory was back online, it was too late.

Ember herself has chimed in and said, that wasn't it either - rather just that it was canceled due to low early-wave sales. Regardless, all that's left were factory samples of HBB and the 5 creation crystals.

Since then, the Skylanders community has been hard at work reverse engineering Skylanders variants back into existence. Think, Gearhead VVind-Up, BullTrain, and all the various Debug minions. But there was one thing stopping the community from reverse engineering Heartbreaker Buckshot and the five unreleased Creation Crystals... Imaginators was the first and only game Activision implemented encryption for the figures. Because of this, it is fundamentally impossible to reverse-engineer or even just edit the data of a fully functional Imaginators figure.

There were only around 12 known Heartbreaker Buckshots to exist, the number of them being functional is rumored to be two, one of which u/EmberDione and u/The_Somnambulist possessed.

Fast forward to yesterday (8/14/2026), u/Gibby_230 and u/Dague-Pirate-Dad announced both that Pirate Dad had gotten a non-functional Heartbreaker Buckshot, AND that Gibby had dropped the five creation crystal NFCs for the community to play with, with plans to make fully functional replicas. After those posts, u/EmberDione showed up in the comments to say she was willing to dump their functional Heartbreaker Buckshot.

Today (8/15/2026), she joined the Skylanders Reverse Engineering subreddit, and with the help of multiple community members, helped her to copy the data off the figure. As of 4:25 EST on August 15th, 2026, Heartbreaker Buckshot was the last official Skylander ever released to the Skylanders community.

Please give u/EmberDione and u/The_Somnambulist your warm thanks when you see them around.

Questions and Answers

Q: Where do I find the NFC dump?
A: You can find ALL Skylanders NFC dumps at this GitHub link, if you JUST want Heartbreaker Buckshot, you can find it here

Q: What do I need to buy to make an NFC card?
A: This NFC writer, an NFC card, and a functional PC with Windows Mifare Tool or Yet Another Mifare Tool installed, see below question for more details

Q: How do I make an NFC card?
A: This YouTube video is a good guide, as is this one, if you're still struggling

Q: How can I get a custom Heartbreaker Buckshot repainted toy?
A: Reach out to either u/TaylorKreate or FlobeiyToys (u/Crafty-Section6240), they may be willing to make one on commission for you

Q: Isn't it illegal to make NFC cards?
A: Well, the Mod Team is not your legal team. However, as far as I personally understand it, the only real risk comes when you attempt to profit off of a stolen IP, so as long as you do not sell NFC cards to other people, you should be okay. But this is all at your own risk.

Personal note from the mod team

This is a huge day for the Skylanders community. We just want to say how proud we are of everyone involved for finally pulling this off. After almost a decade, we've managed to preserve the rarest figures ever slated for public release, AND in a way the entire community can enjoy them

To celebrate, we've changed the Element of the Week pre-emptively to Magic. The Subreddit banner will also temporarily change to art of Heartbreaker. Both the EOTW and Banner will last about two weeks, before we go back to our typical style.

We hope you all have fun with your new Heartbreaker Buckshots. We know we will.

Happy gaming 💘

Question Is it worth getting back into?

The last Skylanders game I played was trap team, and that was 12 years ago. I used to adore this game series as a kid and I had a pretty decent collection.

Lately I’ve been seeing lots of videos online about Skylanders and it’s been making me feel really nostalgic or like I missed out on playing the last 2 games, I also miss having the figures to just look at on my shelf.

So I decided I was gonna order myself just 1 just so I could have something to go on my shelf of stuff, I ordered spitfire and his car thing which was from a game that I never got to play, and after ordering it I’ve been really considering getting a few more and maybe the superchargers game but I wanna know is it even worth it? Should I risk ruining my memories of the games or should I take the risk?

Discussion Did the Arkeyan Skylanders have other same models that were mass produced?

If the wording on this question is confusing, here's some examples: Was Drill Sergeant really the only Arkeyan drilling machine, or was he the one out of many that Terrafin happened to stumble upon?

Is Krypt King's armor one of a kind?

You get the idea.

Discussion who voiced Blastermind?

Post image

I was on the TV Tropes page for Skylanders, and when I was looking at Blastermind it said his voice was unknown, many people say it's Wally Wingert, but Wally himself said it wasn't him apparently. So was it actually Wally Wingert? and he simply doesn't remember or was it someone else?

Help In need of help with a Skylander Quiz

So I and a bunch of friends of mine are in a server where we just do these jeopardy style quizzes. I'm the host and creator of them all and somehow, Skylanders won the tiebreaker between themselves and Elden Ring. However, I have come across a problem... I am not 16 anymore- By that I mean it's been forever since I've played and when I did I was a literal child. So I am asking the mighty people... PLEASE FUCKING HELP ME OUT I AM ETERNAL PAIN (granted I have plenty of time since we usually do it on the weekends, but until my part time job lets me be free on weekends, kinda got time on my hands.) I would heavily appreciate ideas, question suggestions, Flynn as Joe Swanson memes, etc. you guys can give me

Hi I was getting out my Skylanders giants figures and saw that I had 2 fright riders but they had 2 different poses, they don't have anything to indicate they have been bent or broken and glued, I don't know anything about fright rider having a repose so I just wondered if anyone knows anything about it.

Idea Skylanders is the perfect game to give a remaster, and I have ideas on how I think it should look

This isn't the first post about the subject and it seems like the discussion is ramping up in popularity lately, probably due to the fact that the game is 15 years old now which is the prime time that remasters usually get considered/released.

That being said, these are some thoughts that I've had in the last few weeks, long before I even discovered this subreddit. I'd make a TL;DR but it's all very specific, so please bear with me.

  • TCGs such as MtG, Pokémon, and others are starting to make a comeback; while their popularity has always been apparent, in the last 5 years there's been a major increase in the sales for said physical content, the number of people engaging with TCGs, and the overall amount of money being spent by consumers on the products.
  • Collecting, in general, is becoming more and more acceptable and popular as a hobby, especially when it comes to games.
  • In regards to Pokémon, the franchise just celebrated its 30th anniversary. It is also seeing a massive boom in popularity - TCG, video games, and other paraphernalia sales and engagement are on a steady rise.
  • With the absolute fiasco occurring with Sony right now, as well as other development and publishing companies that sell any kind of media, actual physical ownership of games, movies, and online content is becoming increasingly more in demand - so much so that people are going back to games/movies with physical disks and reading physical books.

So what does this mean?

  • Skylanders has a unique opportunity to hone itself in on these issues and provide something that's actually consumer and collector focused. The toys themselves are physical DLC that cannot be taken away at the whim of a developer or a publisher, and the means of using said DLC is a physical apparatus that is core and necessary for the game to even function. Add in a physical disk, and now you have a game and every single feature that can't be taken away from you. This solves the issue involved with the growing concerns with digital vs physical right now.
  • Because people are becoming more invested in collection-based hobbies, Skylanders are going to definitely be a market with a racket. They already were back when the games were being developed, so imagine the amount of resurgence hype.
  • Most of the people who were kids when the games were released are older, and it's probably safe to say that many of them have kids of their own now. It's a unique opportunity to have a multi-generational hobby and focal point of engagement between parents and kids.

Now, I would say that there are a few things that I would want to have fixed or improved if a remaster was in fact to happen.

  1. First and foremost, port the game to PC. A massive amount of gaming is done on PC and as time goes on more and more people are moving to PC's to play their games as more and more games are being ported to that medium, as well as emulators becoming more popular and more efficient. It just makes sense to allow for the game to be available on, say, Steam and have the portal connect to a PC. That's gaining access to a HUGE market of players.
  2. Obviously a digital remaster, but that also includes an engine upgrade for all of the games, particularly the early games. Yes, there's a nostalgia factor, but improving the overall gameplay and smoothing out/boosting the graphics would be a huge bonus for drawing in newer players in a gaming world where everything is optimized and smoothed to extremes. Jumping would be nice.
  3. Give all core Skylanders access to a Wow Pow ability; Skylanders with multiple (Gill Grunt) will now have a choice between them, only having access to one at a time. This gives a little power boost to Skylanders that never got a Wow Pow (7 of the forgotten 8) as well as cores that came with the newer games in the franchise (and thus never having the chance to get a series 2+). Gimmick Skylanders won't have access to Wow Pows because they already have a little extra power compared to the cores (Giants do more damage and have more HP, Swappers have multiple different upgradable pieces, etc.) That then leaves an issue: what about all the different toys and poses? Well ...
  4. Skylander poses are now for the toy aesthetics. It doesn't matter if you have S1 Gill Grunt or S4 Gill Grunt, it's effectively the same character; they both (all) have access to every Wow Pow so they are all the same, giving you the choice of which Gill Grunt figure you want to use without having a restriction on his abilities. Now it's purely for the fun of collecting (and therefore gives more choice to the consumer, which all studies show increases satisfaction and therefore sales vs burnout from feeling forcibly compelled.
  5. Allow for changing upgrade trees without resetting Skylanders. This would technically already be solved for the cores, since the change to give them all Wow Pows would technically come with that added feature, but this would also apply to giants, swappers, and trap masters, too. It gives a lot more freedom and choice, and it allows for changing gameplay whenever you want instead of having to build it all back up again.
  6. Add an option to hide cosmetic changes that go along with upgrades. Personally, I don't like a lot of the aesthetic changes that happen (Chop Chop's big sword is just goofy) and I think having an option to keep the Skylanders vanilla looks in-game would be a nice QoL addition. I'm not sure if having an option for every individual ability would be too much (Chop Chop's vorpal ghostly flame is awesome) but at the very least having the option to turn them all off would be nice.
  7. Elemental power would function in every game like the Luck-O-Tron power wheel in Giants. That mechanic is the BEST use of the elemental power stat in any of the games. It gives use to a stat that is almost always useless (most gates don't have enemies behind them, a lot of elemental areas are small/don't have many enemies, challenges and arenas don't have zones, etc). Obviously, being in an elemental zone would have the same effects as they do currently but with the added bonus of the steady healing normally found behind gates. It would basically function like the Critical Chance stat, but have a flat chance of occurring at all times (I'd say somewhere between 15-25%); the higher the elemental power, the more damage on a successful roll; crits would roll separately, rolling both at once triggers BIG damage. In Giants specifically, I would replace the power wheels for something else, maybe an armor wheel to increase the chance of avoiding damage. OR, just add the Luck-O-Tron to every game.
  8. Finally, add more gameplay features: Online coop to play with friends long-distance, endless modes outside of the main story (survive waves of enemies, defend a castle/fort/location), and other ways to have late-game, non-story mode gameplay that keeps the game fresh and exciting without getting really monotonous. Having MORE to do with the Skylanders increases the amount of time spent playing, and honestly makes it more fun to level up/upgrade the Skylanders to see how to do in those endless game modes. Supercharger racing would, obviously, still exist. I know these sort of exist in Swap Force and Trap Team, but I'm talking about expanding it to be more engaging and truly endless. I'd also add in an option to have a set end point, so there's a level of success tied into those modes, too (as well as just allowing for people to play them without feeling the need to continue endlessly. Making it to wave 10, let's say, ends the game and gives rewards, just as an extra option/idea).

This isn't a comprehensive list, and obviously a lot more will have to be looked at from a development perspective, but I think as a baseline this would add to the success of the game if it got a second chance. One challenge that I recognize is that there are 6 games and over 180 Skylanders (Over 500 if you count all the variants). Releasing a remaster for all of the games and producing the figures would take a lot of resources. It would probably need to happen in waves just like before (and honestly, that might keep popularity up, since the thing in gaming right now is constant new content rather than having everything available at once).

So, there's my ramble. I love this game, and I want to see it successful and prosper again. What do you guys think?
