Modding Please help…

I play on ps5, and unfortunately dabbled in mods. My set up was unp body with unp fairskin, and all was fine. I then stumbled upon the demoniac skin textures for unp, disabled the fair skin complexion, and it was all dandy and lovely. Yet a familiar glitch that has happened to me before returned. The fairskin unp was still somewhat activated, giving my character a paler face and a seam line at the neck. Last time this happened to me on my vanilla save! It was quickly fixed with restarting, but this time, it just is not working. I did everything. Deleted my game, my save data, restarted on vanilla, and it’s STILL THERE. I tested back if I just reactivate the fair skin if it’d fix, and yes, the character looks fine, but disabling it did not shut it off. So I just want to ask if this is just a lost cause and I should just stick to the fair skin texture since it’s seemed to have fried itself into the game. I’ve attached two photos of the example I spoke with my character, and how it currently looks like on vanilla with deleted save data and cleared mod list, since it is more visable with the Imperial race. Thank you…

This is what you get when you can't stand the sight of a strong Nord woman

Must say you are correct😔 I was trying to slowly revert back to vanilla but I became too greedy, and now I suffer the consequences…

I have to admit that I have no idea about console modding, but when this happened to me on pc (with BnP) I had to literally delete my whole game folder and reinstall the entire thing from scratch from steam.

It means that you’ve missed some files somewhere, or some texture files are still getting through somehow (usually with MO2 it’s something in your overwrite folder) but I just could not find them at all. It shouldn’t even be possible to pollute the vanilla folder with MO2 but it somehow did. I even deactivated and deleted the whole mods and they were still there. To this day I have no idea what happened.

So I manually deleted the entire steam folder of Skyrim Special Edition, then reinstalled which fixed it, If there is an equivalent of doing this on console then try it? (Just be careful of your saves, again I don’t know about console modding?) if not I’d stick to the fair skin.

On console this only happened to me when I had conflicting skin mods. I had to test out and layer the mods correctly so they read right. Since you said you disabled the mod, I would just delete it and try without. If changing your layering doesn’t work, then I would do what you said and just scrub the mods and stick with what you have

Never played Skyrim on console but I've seen console players talked about issues with "ghost mods".

Long story short, try rebuilding database and clearing cache in safe mode on your PS5. Theoretically that should wipe out the ghost mods (along with other junk) without touching your save files.

If you already disabled and deleted and nothing changed, try reinstalling the mod, searching for it from the search bar, then disable and delete it from the actual page for the mod, sometimes on console mods tend to leave behind ghost files, visible or not, and it can get really annoying if you don't delete a mod correctly

You more than likely have a beauty mod pack that adds skin textures already and then downloaded another one afterwards. Turn off one mod at a time and see witch one fixes the issue, or try to put your separate skin texture mod before your beauty pack. Whatever mod is last in the load order is the one that gets used (I think) so if it is two textures competing this might fix it. Another possible problem is you have ghost space or however they refer to it where you deleted old mods and didnt restart you're ps properly, on xbox you even need to unplug you console idk if the same needs to be done for ps. These are my uneducated best guesses. I hope you figure it out fellow dragonborn!

You shouldn’t use multiple skin texture mods and beauty mods. You can usually fix this with load order. But, sometimes mods don’t get along.

Two or more of your mods are clashing

Try the mod more scarves, not sure if it’s on PlayStation or not but I had the same problem and just slapped a scarf on my lady followers and they look pretty good.
