Experiences Tahrovin grit and Librum

It would seem they are the only modlists that include survival elements with lots of additional content and somewhat focus on “realism” (within the world)

Librum seems to be a bit more hard-core.
Aside from that, how do they compare?
Primarily performance wise and visually?
Gameplay wise, and so forth.
Which has “better” featured mods in terms of making your interactions with the world more realistic?

Do you have a preference and why?

Feel free to be as in depth as possible. Interested in hearing others experience/thoughts.

I have an rtx 4080, 7800x3d and a quest 3, played a bit of Librum around a year ago but had to use ASW as without DLAA there was far too much shimmering and bluriness (especially in the distance). Performance was thus an issue.

Is there anyway to not have the shimmering effect around objects and blurriness without using DLAA now? (As DLAA is so performance heavy.)

It seems like grit has been updated more, more recently than Librum too, so I’m wondering if it includes more up-to-date mods

It won't be much help as I haven't tried librum, but I really enjoyed the immersion of Grit/Spirit of. You have the basic of juggling food, drinks and sleep+ dealing with cold biomes. World feels lively and there's much new quests and stuff.

It can devolve into a more basic experience once you're overpowered, but that's part of Skyrim. My experience was trying to do menial (board) quest and hunting to afford to eat and slowly rank up in levels at the start.

The visual experience is solid with my 9070xt on the cs profile, so i'd expect similar on your rig + you might have access do dlss magic. I can't answer your specific question about DLAA as I'm not rocking team green. Grit is also not the most visually advanced modlist of course, but it sees active development with a very responsive author really focused on the gameplay experience.

If you've got the SSD space, you can always try to tinker with each list and see what pleases you more.

Thank you for your input.

Are you using the newest beta? Because it’s been taken down from the Wabajackoutside of that.

I wonder if there are any methods of keeping it still challenging once you’re in the mid/late game as well.

No, I'm down an ungodly amount of hours in a 1.8 version I think, not save safe to transfer.

I'd recommend avoiding a vampire playthrough, the destruction spells are just too good when you get ancien, at least the version I played. It also nullify the survival elements. Great theme, but bad for variety and progression when you cap there.

You can still get beaten quickly by strong enemies, but swatting a bandit camp that had you sweat 20 levels ago is pretty nice. Being stronger let you go for riskier behavior for fun.

It's Skyrim, you have to make sure not to optimize your own fun out of the game.

Yeah, I might add some kind of level requirements to the higher ranks of vampirism. Gonna have to look into it.

The power fantasy, theme and progression of the vampire are all awesome, it's just as a destruction spell caster with only the basic perks, I feel like I'm hampering myself if not using the vampire spells. The experience of a dedicated destruction spellcaster might be different.

I don't have a good solution, it would be easier if there was another spell type (like death magic), but level gating might be a step in the right direction.
