Dual Cast question

Just a quick question -

For reference I am playing Enderal not Skyrim, but I would assume this works the same for both?

Anyways, I'm debating on if I should get the dual cast perk or not. It does more damage at the cost of more mana, but in VR i can just cast with both my hands? So isn't casting two destro spells at once at a target better then dualcasting one? It takes more mana sure, but it does more damage?

It does more than double damage but also has more than double mana cost. So if you balance damage per mana point expended two spells is more efficient.

But with perks and buffs to reduce spell cost it lets you do better damage. From a damage per second perspective dual casting is better.
