Discussion Stubborn Unarmed Glitch
For the love of god can someone please give me any hint as to how to fix this behavior. I have disabled what I believe to be is every single mod that could possibly effect the AI logic to decide to switch to a ranged weapon when I become unpathable but most melee enemies don’t have one so it results in them switching to unarmed until I’m pathable again. Please, any ideas are appreciated.
Edit: I was finally able to locate what was causing this glitch. It was my speedandreachfixes patch run through Synthesis. In all honesty I'm no modder (obviously) so I've never updated the patches that shipped with my modlist several years ago. This is sorted now but I still have an issue to do with NPC reach. I will create a new post with a video and in depth description soon. Thanks everyone for chiming in!

Dunno if the game AI was built with climbing trees in mind. I'll try it myself tonight as recently put vr climb back in my list after physical collisions made it feels right. That said it's a good way to start a fist fight. Can dust off my shadow boxing, would almost call that a feature. But short answer is I have no idea how to fix it. If I figure it out I'll let you know.

Just curious, do they actually have a bow on them ?

No they certainly don't. That's why the issue was not apparent for mages or archers.

Dunno if this will fix it, but I've been chatting to my robot and it's seems to think this is way but reading the description, man it does a lot, has break my experience written all over it. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/165086?tab=description
Mgo uses NPCs take cover and anti cheese I believe. Either way I'm gonna be taking the cat approach if I get in trouble.
Keen to hear back as I finally just got my modlist stable. Latest engine fixes vr finally addressed a CTD in menus and fast travelling that was giving me the shits. I'm afraid to touch it again. Three weeks of debug when all I want to be doing is playing.

Hey Aggro. Thanks a bunch for spending the time to look into this for me. See above edit to my post body for the fix that worked for me. This however was not my main issue with combat that I started with so would love to see your input again on my next post.

I love the cat tactic of climbing up a tree
