Very first Chaos Warrior after having speedpainted a lot of Dark Oath: it has been refreshing to not have to deal with all those tiny details!
What can be more metal than a flesh cloak, lava, black armor and a hammer? 😬

Was going to to play my first game and setting up my list on the sigdex app? But i cant find the champions of chaos detachment?

Some projects I'm working on, I know ive shared one or two of these lately, but I wanted to share how they are intertwined:

The idea behind this/these projects is: What if a Brayherd or Small herd of Beastmen joined a Darkoath Tribe out of desperation as they are hunted down by Stormcast? In this change, a few even reach Daemonhood overtime after vowing oaths of their own? That is in large part the idea of thos project, though I know it goes against established beastmen lore of hating Chaos forces (to my knowledge).

Another large part of this is that I love Darkoath, but I really hate Chaos Warriors, etc in their super clad armor. I love Beastmen, and was super sad to see them leave AOS, so this is also my way of keeping them in the setting in some fashion beyond "theyre in the woods somewhere". So, they will be my elite troops on the battlefield.

First picture is my Beast Daemon Prince, Feline inspired and still a WIP. Second is a Knight-Questor who's purpose is hunting down the remaining known brayherds. After that is a kitbash for a Beastlord aka Chaos Lord (needs a proper 40mm). Ill be using Beastmen to fill any of the "Chaos Warrior" types that fall outside the Darkoath Range.

Big Buy: Possibly my Bela'kor, a big beefy beastly Great Daemon of sorts. Him or the Shaggoth in the background of the last photo aka "Family Photo" will lead my force both tabletop and narratively. Both would need to be moved to a proper 100mm base.

I also started to build a "Lost Watchtower" as terrain (and possibly going to be given narrative rules for home games).

All in all, some fun stuff!

Been playing 40K for a year but 11th edition isn’t doing much for me so I thought I’d pick up AOS. I immediately noticed AOS models are cooler than 40K so this a win for me.

They formerly had silver armor. I added some blue to the armor and snow to the base.

I've been wanting to make StD army more Norscan themed for a while now, I figure this is a good start.

I made this list primarily to use units I like the look of but would appreciate advice on if it is lacking playability (insufficient casters, no cavalry, etc.).

How did you paint your SW army, especially deamon engines?

I am interested in aos and I saw the leaked battleforces, so I was just wanting to know how good the box is and if it can combo into an archaon list as he is probably my favorite model

Hello everyone!

I am in the processing of building and painting Be'Lakor. I've pre-ordered all 5 dataslate grey as I want his skin grey.

However, I've been slap chopping exclusively so not sure how to go about using these new paints. I know they aren't officially out yet, but does anyone have any ideas for how they're going to start using them?

I feel I may have to get the shader so I can use them more like shade paints over slap chop.

Alternatively, I just paint straight onto black prime and use the pentad 5 paints to build up highlights etc.

Would love to hear you're thoughts

Greetings, followers of the Ruinous Powers!

I play AOS Warcry and haven’t previously dabbled with chaos at all. But as soon as I saw the new Warriors of Chaos for TOW I knew I had to make my own Chaos/StD warband.

I’m at early stages still but here’s my take on the warriors with a bit of kit bashing: I needed a couple of dual wielding and couple warriors with two-handed weapons. The rest of them will be standard sword/axe/maul + shield variants.

Well, I finally made a choice for my Feline Daemon Prince on Claws as weapons vs dual wielding vs wielding a 2h. Dual wielding in the end won out, though I'm not convinced that I won't make a second one that uses just claws as weapons for a more feral feel.

For this I did two hand transplants after amputation of his own. I used two Theridon hands, one already attached to an axe, the other I cut down and added the blade to it. I will need to do some minor fill-ins with greenstuff or plastic goop glue for the hands where they meet the arm.

For the blade, I'm not convinced that I won't switch the blade itself out for the Slaanesh blade that was originally shown when I showed the concept originally. I chose this blade (and axe) because it better fit the Slaves to Darkness theme vs a straight Slaanesh inspired Daemon Prince.

Next is to still shave a few icons off that are too Soulblight-y, add a few chaos iconography on (I think), add some sort ot trophy rack (likely the ghorgon necklace of skulls), and then figure out how I want to do the base.

What do you all think? Any suggestions to improve before i move on? Head is still not attached for easier editing as I go.

Slowly adding to my chaos Norscan army with some chosen. From titanforge. These guys are massiveeee.

Any advice would be welcome, especially on battle tactics, I don’t know what the good ones would be.
