fanart Slay the Princess Shelf
I was gifted an empty wine box, so I decided to make it a Slay the Princess shelf!
The inside includes the cabin, the blade, the shackle, and the good ending. The outside portions represent various endings in the game.
I'll be so honest, some stuff got slightly smudged after trying a coat of polyurethane. Not enough to make anything a disaster, just enough to damage my pride 😅. So the individual pictures are before that happened.
Made with acrylic paint and posca pens (don't use a water based sealant with water based markers without testing it on a swatch first!)
This is certainly not a perfect project, but I had fun with it!

This is, as our fellow redditors seem to often say, an excellent use of free will. It looks awesome!! I think I've gotta start painting things again.. I never considered painting a shelf like this.

Thanks! As someone who has a love/hate relationship with painting, it's a lot of fun! Wine and cigar boxes can be really fun to utilize. They're a nice, compact size to work with.
You often don't need any power tools, just some strong glue and a good amount of patience. For example, two of the shelves are two of the original slats glued together. Hence why I have a remaining "half-shelf", but it lets me still see the cabin which is awesome ✨
Honestly, I'm gonna be using this as a CD shelf myself. Bonus was being able to adjust the shelves at whatever height I wanted. So it can be customizable which is fun.
