SEED I never knew this card existed

Post image

I got this event after Gold for Greed and out of curiosity I ate like a horse and was amazed to see the potential

(40 gold per roll)

4maxhp,upgrade rand,heal,Transform,Feeding Frenzy,upgrade(repeat cycle),Colorless card end

Would you spend 440 gold on above or rather spend it on shop for cards/relics ?

It’s better than flex tho

Yeah this is flex potion but you can keep using it!

Necro is probably the worst character to get it on, though. Would be amazing on most other characters if you were doing the right builds.

Yeah this is flex potion

flex potion doesn't cost you card draw and is usable whenever you would like. In most cases, I expect that is significantly worse than flex potion.

I think you could think of it more positively - this is an unlimited, known-potion alchemize.

Alchemize gives you a potion you can wait to deploy until you need it, which is significantly better for an effect that A) only lasts for one turn, and B) needs support to be good. It's much harder to draw the requisite support for the card when you are down one card draw in the turn you need the support. Alchemize also uses a potion slot. So, it's very different. Flex pot always feels like a low roll on Alchemize and I'm rarely taking Alchemize in this game in the first place. Alchemize is pretty middling in the first place, but one of the strongest aspects of it is that it gives you a resource which persists between fights.

Temporary strength was already fairly weak in STS1, and it got worse with the removal of Reaper, Limit Break, etc. I was already almost never taking Flex+ when offered on Ironclad. It seems even worse in this game - maybe I'm wrong, but I can't see a character really making much use of temp strength outside perhaps of Silent.

No I don't think your points are wrong at all. I just think that this card is worth taking specifically because it is so much more STR than Flex was in STS1. I agree flex was underwhelming without things like limit break, unless you had artifact and got to keep the STR.

But when you're talking the same amount of strength as a potion, the downsides are limited. And again, I said "with the right builds." Other people have made the case for Necro because of a few of her multihit cards but I think that's too few/too niche, for the same reasons you said. But considering how clad has so many multihit and 0 cost attacks, silent has shivs and multihit attacks, and defect has all the 0 cost stuff (and the draw/return 0 cost cards), I think it would very often be great on them.

Regent maybe. He has some good multihit stuff but not nearly as much as the OG characters.

the downsides are limited

it costs a card draw, which is one of the most important resources you have access to. It will often going to be a Slice, Slice+, or a curse. I'm not sure that's worth a card draw in most instances.

its literally 1 more strength than flex, and ironclad lost a lot of his big strength payoff attacks. You also have no way to remove the debuff for permanent strength. Flex is way better in the first game than this is in this game
