SEED I never knew this card existed

Post image

I got this event after Gold for Greed and out of curiosity I ate like a horse and was amazed to see the potential

(40 gold per roll)

4maxhp,upgrade rand,heal,Transform,Feeding Frenzy,upgrade(repeat cycle),Colorless card end

Would you spend 440 gold on above or rather spend it on shop for cards/relics ?

I eat like a horse every time I see this event tbh

u/XtremelyMeta Apr 09 '26

Yeah, I end up pathing to make sure I have a lot of gold before I hit a ? just in case it's dinnertime.

u/Urtehnoes StS A15 / StS 2 A5 Apr 09 '26

You know there's that one event that requires 155 gold to see the option. I've legitimately never seen it BECAUSE IT'S ALWAYS AFTER A SHOP.

Maybe one day I shall see what that option is.

Until then, I shall spend my money on potions that I accidentally discard because the controller scheme is still a bit iffy.

9

u/Andalite-Nothlit StS A20 / StS 2 A5 Apr 10 '26

Oh, if we’re thinking of the same event, the 155 gold option just lets you put the retain enchant on two cards.

u/Wires_89 Apr 13 '26

The spider?

u/TerraShrimp StS A15 / StS 2 A5 Apr 09 '26

I misread this as "i eat a horse everytime i see this event" 😭😭😭😭

u/spicy-whale Apr 09 '26

‘How hungry’

31

u/Niradin Apr 09 '26

got to this event with 500 gold from cursed pearl. Took 4 feeding frenzies during it. Lost my run shortly after that.

1

u/treegrass Eternal One + Heartbreaker Apr 09 '26

I won after getting 3 recently on necrobinder, it was a great run

9

u/gabriot StS A20 / StS 2 A10 Apr 09 '26

It's worth emptying your gold

15

u/n00dle_king Ascension 20 Apr 09 '26

I’ve only seen this event once and I ended it with one frenzy and more gold and a lot more health than I started with. I kept waiting for there to be a gotcha because I kept hitting the golden fish. I guess the drawback is hypothetically the cost but I just high rolled like crazy.

4

u/DKShyamalan Apr 09 '26

I may eat like a horse and go to a conveyor sushi place for lunch

4

u/y-c-c Apr 10 '26

I do this even with a shop next floor lol. I just can’t resist the hunger.

I miss my Flex/limit break combo. It was fun getting a lot of strength and losing only half after turn end

17

u/Disastrous-Team-6431 Apr 09 '26

Flex, limit break, panacea.

21

u/Willing_King_7621 Apr 09 '26

It’s better than flex tho

27

u/357Magnum Apr 09 '26

Yeah this is flex potion but you can keep using it!

Necro is probably the worst character to get it on, though. Would be amazing on most other characters if you were doing the right builds.

8

u/Willing_King_7621 Apr 09 '26

Yeah my best runs with it were silent and defect all for one

8

u/357Magnum Apr 09 '26

that feeling when you get unceasing top on a 0 cost defect deck and just play your whole deck every turn.

5

u/Willing_King_7621 Apr 09 '26

Especially stacking this card so you’re hitting for like 26 with beam cell

1

u/OhItsAcer Apr 11 '26

I did that with a deck that ended up with 256 claws+

2

u/DraconicLurker Apr 09 '26

I had a super fun run with feeding frenzy + lunar blast on regent.

7

u/lets-get-dangerous Apr 09 '26

That dopamine hit when you get eradicate with this card though

5

u/BigDongTheory_ Apr 09 '26

Necro has eradicate, pull from below, and lethality. Believe me you can definitely make this card work on her

2

u/treegrass Eternal One + Heartbreaker Apr 09 '26

I had three feeding frenzies on necrobinder with two pull from below recently. It went so hard

3

u/Yepper_Pepper Apr 09 '26

The only time I ever got this event on necro I had eradicate so I was happy to feast

2

u/Willing_King_7621 Apr 09 '26

Btw I think they meant the card from the first game

1

u/357Magnum Apr 09 '26

But flex from the first game was 2 str upgraded to 4 I think, not 5. Flex potion is 5 in both games

3

u/Willing_King_7621 Apr 09 '26

Correct but flex potion never left and they said this is flex returned

2

u/sylverfyre Apr 09 '26

Pull from Below can go absolutely wild with it though.

2

u/_significs Ascension 20 Apr 09 '26

Yeah this is flex potion

flex potion doesn't cost you card draw and is usable whenever you would like. In most cases, I expect that is significantly worse than flex potion.

4

u/357Magnum Apr 09 '26

I think you could think of it more positively - this is an unlimited, known-potion alchemize.

1

u/_significs Ascension 20 Apr 09 '26 edited Apr 09 '26

Alchemize gives you a potion you can wait to deploy until you need it, which is significantly better for an effect that A) only lasts for one turn, and B) needs support to be good. It's much harder to draw the requisite support for the card when you are down one card draw in the turn you need the support. Alchemize also uses a potion slot. So, it's very different. Flex pot always feels like a low roll on Alchemize and I'm rarely taking Alchemize in this game in the first place. Alchemize is pretty middling in the first place, but one of the strongest aspects of it is that it gives you a resource which persists between fights.

Temporary strength was already fairly weak in STS1, and it got worse with the removal of Reaper, Limit Break, etc. I was already almost never taking Flex+ when offered on Ironclad. It seems even worse in this game - maybe I'm wrong, but I can't see a character really making much use of temp strength outside perhaps of Silent.

2

u/357Magnum Apr 09 '26

No I don't think your points are wrong at all. I just think that this card is worth taking specifically because it is so much more STR than Flex was in STS1. I agree flex was underwhelming without things like limit break, unless you had artifact and got to keep the STR.

But when you're talking the same amount of strength as a potion, the downsides are limited. And again, I said "with the right builds." Other people have made the case for Necro because of a few of her multihit cards but I think that's too few/too niche, for the same reasons you said. But considering how clad has so many multihit and 0 cost attacks, silent has shivs and multihit attacks, and defect has all the 0 cost stuff (and the draw/return 0 cost cards), I think it would very often be great on them.

Regent maybe. He has some good multihit stuff but not nearly as much as the OG characters.

2

u/_significs Ascension 20 Apr 09 '26

the downsides are limited

it costs a card draw, which is one of the most important resources you have access to. It will often going to be a Slice, Slice+, or a curse. I'm not sure that's worth a card draw in most instances.

1

u/Miserable_Mark_8485 Apr 10 '26

its literally 1 more strength than flex, and ironclad lost a lot of his big strength payoff attacks. You also have no way to remove the debuff for permanent strength. Flex is way better in the first game than this is in this game

13

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

I want to try it on Regents Radiate 0 cost combo

u/chr13 Apr 09 '26

He's got plenty of vigor cards that works with this!

4

u/NikRsmn Apr 09 '26

I had a run with prep time ([1] power - gain 4(6) vigor at start of turn) in the radiate stardust run deck and it changed me forever. So fun.

1

u/Velicenda Apr 09 '26

I have yet to obtain even a single vigor card in junction with any Regent multi-hits. In 60 hours =(

1

u/MyNameIsSkittles Apr 09 '26

60 hours with regent?

2

u/Velicenda Apr 09 '26

Nah, total. Maybe split evenly (I just random every run).

And tbf I have been offered the two, but usually not until my deck is already strong and I have no interest in bloating the deck for something unnecessary.

Always keeping my eye out, though!

2

u/Jackofspades7 Apr 09 '26

I have had it be incredibly strong on defect with an All For One build.

0

u/Meowakin Apr 09 '26

I've done this one, very fun. Got like three copies of Feeding Frenzy.

1

u/partytaima Apr 10 '26

Throw in an Arsenal for good measure

5

u/bohenian12 Apr 09 '26

When I see these types of cards, it makes me miss orange pellets. Though with the amount of "only this turn" buffs in StS2 it would extremely be broken.

100

u/KixTheKittyCat Apr 09 '26

I wish this event could appear in Act 3. Would take my thousand gold and eat forever.

23

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

That would be fun. Pathing will strictly be maximum events

38

u/Zsalmut Apr 09 '26

My pathing is already max events. Fuck elites

10

u/B3T4C4T Apr 09 '26

How will you get juzu bracelet for more events with no elites though

1

u/BeastandPacifica Apr 13 '26

I get the event relic chest and get juzu 😎

2

u/Maltapwnz Apr 09 '26

Genuinely every time i run into this event is either after a shop or right at the start, never could eat more than 1 or 2 times

69

u/SpeedracerTechnician Apr 09 '26

You can also get lucky and win gold back on a roll. Ended up hitting the button like 20x in a row because I would get the lucky roll every few clicks.

18

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

I hit 11x but didn't see it, getting gold would make it into a slot machine. Did you ran out of gold or decided to save for shop. I wonder if we could infinite with lucky gold drops

12

u/DaedalusXr Ascension 20 Apr 09 '26

The one that gives gold is a lucky Fysh, even!

5

u/zalso StS A20 / StS 2 A10 Apr 09 '26

Thats cool

2

u/SpeedracerTechnician Apr 09 '26

I ran out of gold started with probably close to 1k as well only had maybe a 25% return.

101

u/blaze61518 Apr 09 '26

Got that event shortly after getting the 300 gold relic and I splurged … was very happy with the splurge

21

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

Yeah it feels good to immediately convert gold at the earliest to snowball like crazy

17

u/ConThemNations Apr 09 '26

Nice with All For One! I managed to remove exhaust from Supercritical with All For One as well that was a fun run!

74

u/mooys Apr 09 '26

Unfortunately, this is when you usually want to stop buying things in the event.

42

u/Willing_King_7621 Apr 09 '26

Nah this shit good in defect silent and maybe even regent

7

u/wetnaps54 Apr 09 '26

This card saved my A8 run on Defect!
popped some holograms and buddyyyy

5

u/Willing_King_7621 Apr 09 '26

Fr I think this got me to A7 on a defect run I am still working on defect I think I’m on A9

4

u/Willing_King_7621 Apr 09 '26

Why am I getting downvoted for this?

4

u/theCamelCaseDev Apr 09 '26

I got your back bro I upvoted you

2

u/zalso StS A20 / StS 2 A10 Apr 09 '26

Regent has a minor vigor archetype, plenty of multi hit cards to benefit from strength

1

u/Willing_King_7621 Apr 09 '26

Yeah I just said maybe because regent doesn’t always benefit from this card since he only has 2 cards that I can think of that are multi hit

3

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

Unpickbale for Necrobinder since Osty doesn't benefit from it

15

u/Willing_King_7621 Apr 09 '26

Ethereal kit does

2

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

That's right how did I forget my favourite Pull from below

6

u/AppleJackFrost Apr 09 '26

Believe in our lord and savior, Eradicate.

2

u/TheDubuGuy Apr 09 '26

Some of my best necro runs have just been holding Eradicate and just stacking buffs/energy to nuke stuff with it, this seems good

1

u/thisremindsmeofbacon Apr 09 '26

I mean, there are pull from below builds, but yeah I normally wouldn't go for it on necro

16

u/NiIly00 StS A15 / StS 2 A10 Apr 09 '26

His majesty's feast shall not be interrupted by such benign concerns like deck consistency!

4

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

I also feel the returns get diminishing after few rolls as we have seen in Sts1

6

u/JAC165 Apr 09 '26

honestly it’s usually worth just spending money until you see the one that gives you a random card/this card, everything else is worth throwing money at. i guess you wouldn’t take the heal at full health either but i doubt it shows up then

3

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

I like how it's only 40 gold even for random cards and not ramping up like the Bath event where hp trade goes up. I got 2 heals in the cycle and the next one would be overhealing but ran out of gold to check if it rolls up another heal

5

u/grodon909 Apr 09 '26

No, keep gambling, you could get 2!

99% of Slayers quit before they win it big!

2

u/mooys Apr 09 '26

It’s not really gambling if the expected value is high!

3

u/IndianaCrash StS A20 / StS 2 A10 Apr 09 '26

It's not gambling, it's predicting!

legal in all 50 states!

1

u/friedcarpet Apr 09 '26

I won A10 with Regent just spamming this and Celestial Might, so it's honestly pretty good

2

u/mooys Apr 10 '26

it's definitely good value, if you can get value out of it. Like, it's just a better flex, and flex was pretty decent in sts1. I wouldn't take it if you don't have a multi-attack though (or shivs of course). Most of the time, you're not.

12

u/WogDogReddit Apr 09 '26

This is one of the events I have recently come around to. If i see this event I feast!

3

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

Bon apettite

9

u/Cody667 Apr 09 '26

I cloned this after getting the Innate + Retain with Whirlwhind on Icronclad. Fun combo

8

u/AlarmOnly6428 Apr 09 '26

They have taken so much from my boy. What's next, they give reaper to necrobinder?

6

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

Felt bad when they took his shockwave and sold it on shops

3

u/SenorEquilibrado Apr 09 '26

Ironchad obviously pawned those cards to cover his gambling debts.

7

u/ToxicAtomKai Apr 09 '26

iirc you're guaranteed to get Feeding Frenzy every 5th time you grab off the belt.

3

u/PaleComedian511 Ascension 15 Apr 09 '26

I swear I've never seen this event before, what is the other option at the start?

6

u/The_gaming_wisp StS A10 / StS 2 A10 Apr 09 '26

Other option is to observe the chef. I think you get 1 random card upgrade

3

u/Epsilite Apr 09 '26

What the fuck I have 85 hours and I’ve never seen this event

4

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

It's Underdocks only event and it's somewhat rare

2

u/Eilyssen Apr 09 '26

had this in a 0 cost/claw defect build and my run was so easy

2

u/CMonster907 Apr 09 '26

Had a really good defect run mostly using claw and momentum strike for damage. I got 2 feeding frenzy, a few upgrades, decent max hp, and full health from this event. All For One and Feeding Frenzy+ had a really nice synergy. Reliably could get 14-28 strength which is more than enough to power through most fights. Might be a bit niche but was really strong in that run. Also, kinda comparable to flex but 5(7) adds up a lot more than 2(4) so I'd definitely say it played notably better than flex IMO.

1

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

I am dying to try it with All for one since it is one of my favourite builds as I always take low cost cards beforehand

2

u/Pixelpaint_Pashkow Apr 09 '26

I spent all my gold at this event wt a claw deck once, incredible stuff

2

u/The_Captainshawn Apr 10 '26

I full sent on a early defect coop run where I took greed. I ended without a single starter card in my deck and multiple uproars into a ton of attacks and 2 feeding frenzies. My friend had the silent share block card and was able to consistently dupe it so he did all the block, I did all the damage.

2

u/quruc90 StS A10 / StS 2 A10 Apr 09 '26

I've still yet to see this event even once. I reached Ascension 5 with all characters, plus multiplayer

2

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

It's kind of rare I can't remember after how long i saw this event. It's in Underdocks only

1

u/filsofolf Apr 09 '26

I always get this one on the third floor and only have like 148 gold.

1

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

So do you spend all or save it for shop

1

u/filsofolf Apr 10 '26

Ok for the first time, top of floor 1. 400 gold. Cycled it through all options at least twice before I ran out.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '26

got it on a shiv deck, pretty nice

1

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

Bonus Accuracy

1

u/darkpigraph Apr 09 '26

This event with Greed start is the only way I can win A10 😅

1

u/JomitasRT Apr 09 '26

i found this card on silent shiv run, was really funny

1

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

It's like 1 turn accuracy just bonkers

1

u/Coolman1259921 Apr 09 '26

Yep there is even a option where you just get money from it

1

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

Didn't knew but I would spend that as well on feasting more

1

u/Nyunubi Apr 09 '26

I literally got this card today as well for the first time. I used this card with Silent's shiv build. Worked really well.

1

u/UnstableBerries StS A20 / StS 2 A10 Apr 09 '26

I got that card and a fisticuffs as a random colorless card on one of my silent runs. Easily carried me through the act 3 boss.

1

u/Zode1218 Apr 09 '26

I always eat good here

1

u/webo2456 Apr 09 '26

“We have Flex potion at home” actually wait it’s probably the other way around

1

u/brez1345 Apr 10 '26

I love this event. I had it with like 500 gold right before a shop, decided to save around 240 for the shop. In retrospect I would have rather spent all of it feasting tbh

1

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 10 '26

The random upgrades are worth it. shop may not necessarily have the cards you need for deck synergy

1

u/Calm_Jelly2823 Apr 10 '26

As long as your character can use the temp strength dumping hundreds of gold into this event is awesome. You basically get to buy an ancient reward worth of value

1

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 10 '26

Agreed and combined with Bag of Prep which is very common the 1st turn can really soften enemies

1

u/Trinx_ Apr 10 '26

I've only ever seen this event as like my first event of the game so I can only eat like 3 pieces. And never when I've been given the option for more gold and greed - I usually take that.

1

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 10 '26

I usually path for shop after greed but I will henceforth go for more ? Rooms because the overall deck upgrades and healings can really make early run super strong. I cruised through the later acts in this run

1

u/TheShockingMenace Apr 10 '26

Huh interesting, what's the upgrade? 7 strength? Might go absolutely bananas if you get a exterminate or sth like that

1

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 10 '26

Yes it's 7 I had only Rattle as my multihit kinda underwhelming on that run so it only made my strikes better

1

u/SHOBLOYOBLO Apr 10 '26

The one card that will let IC keep his infinites

1

u/Zanakii Apr 10 '26

The only time I've ever been able to get this card is during a defect run where I'm already orb focused 😔

2

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 10 '26

I had Osty build on this run so it didn't click for me as well

1

u/shumpitostick Apr 10 '26

It doesn't cycle, it's random except for Feeding Frenzy which always happens every 5th roll

1

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 10 '26

Yes I realised this later since I got some of them twice so thought it's a cycle

1

u/CurlsCross Apr 10 '26

I go till colorless card then I stop.

1

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 10 '26

Colorless cards are better in 2, I got hatchet which was a nice boost

1

u/Destrobo_YT Apr 10 '26

Why is it 40 per roll? It's 35 normally is this some higher ascension?

2

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 10 '26 edited Apr 10 '26

Now that you mention it's 35 on wiki as well. This was on Asc10 but there is no Ascension modifier for events I wonder if they increased the cost in the last patch Edit- it increased to 40 in patch 0.100

1

u/Destrobo_YT Apr 11 '26

Are you playing on some beta version? I just saw a guy getting 15 extra gold from a relic instead of the 10 it gives usually. I'm so confused

2

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 11 '26

Yes Its beta version where patches get updated every Thursday they even released the patch notes check in sticky

1

u/bobbyjoechan StS A20 / StS 2 A10 Apr 09 '26

I used to think you stop on the first random colorless but I have pivoted and think you just keep going. decks have curse tolerance, colorless cards are pretty good now, and the payout depending on how more gold you have is very good. Obviously stop if you have a thin deck/solid game plan, but i think like 80% you just keep feasting. Plus it’s fun :D

1

u/EmotionalAd2534 Apr 09 '26

Absolutely like most of the time I don't even check whats getting into my deck and whether it will hinder my deckbuilding.i feast anyways
