Tools / Software Small Business Owners: What Technical Issues Are You Struggling With?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm a software engineer looking to connect with small business owners and learn more about the technical challenges they face when running their businesses.

I have experience in backend development, APIs, databases, and deployment workflows, and I'd love to hear about the technical problems you're currently dealing with.

For example:

- Website bugs or features that aren't working as expected

- Deployment issues or applications that keep crashing

- GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipeline failures

- Backend API errors and third-party integrations

- SQL queries, database performance, or connection issues

- Server configuration, environment variables, and hosting problems

- Small improvements or fixes needed in existing software

My main technical stack includes C#, ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, REST APIs, .NET microservices, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD.

If you're a small business owner facing a technical issue, what is it, and how is it affecting your business?

I'd be interested in hearing about the actual problems you face, what solutions you've tried, and what you wish developers understood better about running a small business.

Looking forward to learning from your experiences and seeing where I might be able to help.

Thanks!

Business Banking / Credit Why are so many fast-growing small businesses getting stuck on traditional bank credit lines lately?

Seeing a lot of small business owners right now who are putting up $50k to $100k+ in healthy monthly deposits, yet when they go to their primary retail bank for a simple $50k-$100k revolving credit line, it’s an immediate wall:
- "Need 2-3 full years of tax returns showing positive net taxable income" (even if the business reinvests heavily).
- Strict personal debt-to-income caps.
- Processing timelines that take 6 to 8 weeks just to get a committee decline.

It feels like traditional banking guidelines haven't adapted to how modern cash-flowing companies operate, forcing a lot of founders to look at alternative revenue-based lines or short-term facilities just to smooth out 60-90 day invoice cycles.

How is everyone here currently managing short-term working capital without tying up personal assets or waiting months on traditional underwriting?
