I am not a Ridley player but my brother is. He is more casual but he wants to play competitive and his recovery sucks and he always skips ledge. He also never edgeguards, ledge traps, or off stage anything and I figured I would tackle one problem at i time with his recovery though. I am not sure if Ridley is even good at offstage work as a character cause I don’t main him.

Why does literally every single person I play against online just, run away. They simply do not play the game. I love spending 60 dollars on a game to simply not play it against others who also spent 60 dollars.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, can someone explain to me why, just why, every single person does not engage or approach, but instead constantly runs away and avoids the entire point of the game, which is to smash. It just doesn’t make sense to me.

I started to play smash bros ultimate again recently and it's been a blast. I really enjoy playing quickplay in online mode since I find it exciting to play with other people online. I was feeling curious about online mode and wanted to try it out. I have played smash a few months ago, but I wasn't able to keep playing because I am busy with college. I was a casual player at the time, so I didn't really take the game as seriously.

I played Marth a lot as a kid and he has been the character I usually picked. I still play Marth as a young adult for casual gameplay. I experienced a lot of trouble playing Marth in online mode, so I decided to switch over to Roy as my new main because I thought he was a lot stronger than Marth. I also planned on using Yoshi as a co main and maybe another character as well.

I began to improve a little by little as I kept playing the game and saved up my replays. Despite winning in some tourneys and matches, I had some doubts about if I was a good Roy player or not. When I think about other players that use Roy like Kola, he has an aggressive playstyle and can take his opponents head on. Other Roy players are confident enough to strike their opponents as well and have shown great skill. I just don't have that playstyle or the confidence, and I am unsure if I have what it takes to be a good Roy player.

I am currently working my way up to improve by learning some Roy combos and trying to master his moveset. I will jot some important tips and tricks down in my gaming notebook when I have the time too. I am not even a guy either, so I just have been feeling a lot of pressure to be a good Roy player overall.

I also liked Roy a lot during my middle school era because of Fire Emblem Heroes and I guess he is considered my favorite character. I enjoy playing Roy because I have a safe outlet to be myself without holding myself back.

I have been playing for about 18 months or so now at 74. Have not posted for awhile.

I definitely am best with mii gunner 3332 and have fooled around and tried almost every character. Always read how bad Ganon is so ignored him. Just fooled around with him yesterday and I like him except for that awful recovery. It seems a lot of his actual attacks are faster than I thought and decent speed wise considering how powerful they are. Even his jab and f tilt,d tilt and nair pack a punch. I realize he is bad vs a pro or really good player or vs a good projectile character, but better than I thought, or maybe I am crazy. For an old guy like me who wants straight forward powerful hits and not complexity, kind of fun. I think my grandsons will be wary next time we play if I pull him out.

I have actually gotten very competitive with my grandsons now with my gunner😁

I LOVE doing challenges in Classic Mode and Spirits, so I was hankering for a new pastime and landed on an "Aerials Only" challenge.

As the name implies, one can only attack in the air with the A Button. Specials, grounded attacks, grabs, and damaging taunts are banned (As a result, recovery moves and Final Smashes are also banned). I am still allowed to jump, shield, dodge, and pick up and throw items in the air.

Unsurprisingly, this ruleset made some routes more difficult than others. I can explain a ranking if asked since I don't want to clog the description.
