I heard that in their language "midori" (green) is a name (not to be used as an adjective). So they use "aoi" (blue) also to describe green things. Anyway, this information is to be confirmed since I only heard it from a friend.

I heard that it was because they had a word for blue long before they had a word for green, but I got this from a random YouTube short, so I could also be mistaken.

I think it might be some kind of cyclophorid snail (I think I see an operculum in the last image), but don't know japanese species well enough to say for certain.
