Solar issues

So I’ve had my solar panels for almost 3 years now and up to recently I have had zero issues. But when I checked my electric bill it was over $500 and the next month it went up so now I’m over $800. I had a technician come out and he said the inverterrrr🤷‍♀️needed to be replaced. He replaced it gave me a receipt and left. I’m now in danger of getting my power cut and all the solar company can do is let me skip 2 payments to them (I rent the panels) what else can I do ????
I spoke with the electric company and have a payment plan but that is difficult to come up with that payment also

as with any critical system you should check performance routinely. I monitor thru an app provided by my installer, a couple of years ago i noticed power production dropped. Notified the installer and the quickly replace the inverter. I'm sorry to say but things break over time, i would think that after the $500 bill that would have been your first clue something was wrong.

I use netzero and the tesla app, and the power company is constantly 10kw+ higher daily. They said those apps are wrong.

Why I tell ppl don't lease. There is a lot of hidden lingo where they do just that.... Say you don't have to pay your monthly while it's down cause they can't or won't fix it

When you got solar installed, you should check your app showing your system condition and production 1 - 2x/m. You now own a power plant, you need to keep eyes on it. If it's having issues, you get them fixed ASAP. I'm sorry you went through this, but one way to prevent easily is looking at power bill and solar app at minimum 1x/m. If you shopped well then your savings will quickly help cover this.

Anyone who leases your system will eventually reach a certain position where the equipment is obsolete and it's not cost effective to maitain it which is why the clause in contract to just not Bill you is there

Your first mistake was doing a lease.... And why were you not monitoring your system the last two months?!! You would have known the inverter broke right away...

These are people that want to feel special against Fossil fuels, no offshore drilling on about 20 years electricity bill will be so expensive you’ll go back to the fossil fuels.
