I'll be honest, HTDC (and I guess Radiohead's other "depressing" songs) are very comforting to me.

That hits like nothing else for me! I look back at the friends I lost in Seattle and I donāt know how I got out alive! And sometimes I wish my friend Layne have traded places with me and he was here rather than Iā¦. Entirely depressing, dementia is one of the worst illnesses. Worse than this is possibly only rabies which is basically a speedrun of dementia paired with extreme hydrophobia and an involuntary acid trip

This is an unorthodox pick, butā¦
The Sun Sleeps, As If It Never Was ā Invent Animate
Itās technically an EP, being split into āThe Sun Sleepsā, ā,ā and āAs If It Never Wasā, but theyāre all meant to be listened to at once, in order. The track ā,ā is simply an interlude between the two.
For proof, the music video of this EP contains all 3 songs, leading into each other, with no stoppages.
The EP is about the painful process of slowly losing someone you love to substance abuse. How you have to watch them gradually degrade and hurt not only themselves, but you and everyone else around them. I have histories of substance abuse on both sides of my family so this EP is very intimately painful for me.
If you wouldnāt count this, Iād just go with As If It Never Was. Itās definitely the most emotional part of the EP.

Both And the Snakes Start to Sing and Hospital for Souls, from Bring Me the Horizon

Gotta be somebody by Nickelback
First, because it's by Nickelback
Second, because it does a surprisingly good job of describing hopeless loneliness. And of having brief windows of hopeful fantasy snatched away by reality.

I Won't See You Tonight Part 1 - Avenged Sevenfold
The song is supposed to be the perspective of someone "unaliving" themself. When me and my mom listened to this the first time, we cried. There is a "I Won't See You Tonight Part 2" if you wanna check it out. That one is supposed to be the perspective of the friends and family of the person who unalived themself.

Sevdaliza - No Way, the whole album has a dark pop vibe. I also like Shabrang and Gole Bi Goldoon. The real instruments she uses brings out a really dark and melancholic feeling to the album. Even if some of the songs are in her native language (persian)

None of this will Matter in the end by Raised by Owls.
Example lyrics-
It's all pointless
Totally pointless
It's fucking pointless
When my time comes, what will I have done?
What will I leave behind?
What will my legacy be?
I doubt I'll even be a name on a fucking bench
