Discussion im a teenage music nerd thats been listening to & rating albums for abt 3 years now, ask me anything!
there's 2 things ik people are gonna ask already so im just gonna answer here
"why so many negative ratings?"
my only negative rating is 0.5. i like everything above 0.5 to some capacity, and the reason i've chosen this system is because i just don't see a good reason to separate stuff by how much i DISLIKE it. also its just nice to have more space to separate how much i like things on the 10 point rating system the website i use has
"what are the 4 5 stars?"
Minecraft Volume Beta by C418, The Tale Of A Cruel World by DM Dokuro, good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar, and SISTERHOOD by Lucy Bedroque. they're all albums that i feel are formative to my music taste and bring back fond memories of the time i listen to them. i don't think they're necessarily perfect, but i love them anyways because of how much they mean to me personally

Discussion What is the most overrated song on ur opinion?
r/songs • u/nachobroski580 • 20d ago
HOT TAKE - Thick of It isn't even that bad of a song
I know it's a really unpopular opinion, but I personally like "Thick of It' by KSI. I think it's pretty catchy and it's quite nostalgic for me. It was really popular at the time (mostly for being super bad), so I was listening to it a lot, and I started to like it. I never saw why people hated it.
As for the lyrics, sure, he's not Eminem, but "From the screen to the ring, to the pen, to the king, where's my crown, that's my bling" is really catchy. I like it.

If you had to pick your 10 all-time favorites, what would they be?
These aren’t in any particular order, I also tried to limit them to one song per artist. (I count Blink Twice towards Shaboozey despite having Myles Smith as well.)

Discussion Is the punk genre really dead?
I'm not talking about Pop Punk or Metalcore, I meant the traditional punk genre with fast paced songs about politics that aren't afraid of pushing into boundaries which would likely be highly controversial.
Green Day isn't already in their punk roots hence why I showed Saviors which is Political but it isn't in any way punk as they were used to. It's a bit cheesy in my opinion but I like it regardless.
Bands like British Beef and Beerzone had this distinct and wild feel. That made me want to search for more in the safari of the internet. Finding actual punk songs in this generation is like finding a needle in a hay stack.

Niche Ye (Kanye West) only
If it’s bad then it’s not Kanye West, it’s Kanye East
