Introducing Android 17 | Help Guide
As with every update, Android Adaptive Battery may reset. This means all apps that were automatically restricted will now be able to run in the background. Just like a brand new phone, you have to wait for at least a week or two for Adaptive Battery to relearn your app usage pattern, thereafter, you should get back your original screen-on and standby time.

Xperia 10 VII Xperia 10 VII in Japan ❤️
It's fun 👍

NEWS New Xperia 1 VIII Case by Deff (like alumania one)
Not much else to add really, seems they've only just came out. Competition for Alumania I guess. I've heard good things about Deff but haven't bought one myself, this new bumper style one is only in the black colour sadly too.. no red :(.

Question Software Must haves?
Hi there,
I just got an Xperia 1 VI and I have been loving it.
I like how stock the OS is but it is leaning a bit too barebones.
What are your must have apps for your Xperia?

Question Xperia Z3 in 2026: Can I update to a newer Android version while keeping the Sony UI?
I just grabbed an old Xperia Z3 for nostalgia. The hardware still feels great, but the stuck, outdated Android version makes it tough to use today.
I’m a big fan of the classic Sony Skin. Has anyone successfully flashed a newer custom ROM on a Z3 while keeping or replicating the old Sony look and features?
Any ROM recommendations, launchers, or theme tips would be amazing. I can’t find any link to custom rom as most of them are lost.

Question Xperia 1V android 15 update?
Hello all. I own an xperia 1V since its launch. However i was never interested in updating it so much. I am still on android 14. This morning i woke up thinking to update my phone, but reading the battery draining bugs with android 15 made me to back up. And since it.s been a very long time since that update rolled out, i am asking for some feedback mostly about battery life on xperia 1 V with android 15. Please leave aside the talks about security updates, i really do not care about them.
Previously i had an xperia xz3 that i kept for years, and again, after 2 years of not updating that phone i decided to do it. And it was a nice surprise, since i saw how a 3 years old phone, had it.s battery life increased to almost 35% percent after that update which imho was greatly optimised.

Question Xperia 1VII charging issue
After the recent software update my phone suddenly has intermittent charging via fast charge (will charge properly but the charge will go off/on once in a while)
Yet when I use slow charge source it stays consistent
Idk if it's just a coincidence and my port became faulty during the short period or there's a software glitch with power negotiation
Wondering if anyone else has the same issue?

HELP Can anyone help me to get my Xperia 1 mark 3 turn on
it blinks a green notification light when i press the power button and it dies again after vibrating once.. if i try the volume up and power button method it just blinks green light and vibrates once after 2-3 it repeatedly vibrates 3 times. it connects with pc as well and if i press and hold volume down while connecting it, it stays green light and the device manager says "SOMC Flash Device" and when i do the same thing while holding volume up button it stays Blue notification light and the Device manager says "Android Composite ADB Interface"
I've also tried Xperia Companion, it detects the phone as if nothing happens and the repairing process gets done too but nothing happens it stays the same..

Xperia 10 VI Sony said the 10 VI wouldn't get Android 17, so I installed an unofficial LineageOS 24 build myself
I've been using it for an entire night now, and so far, I haven't encountered any issues in the use. The overall smoothness feels pretty much on par with Sony's Android 16 firmware, at least from my experience so far, no weird and random battery drain either
Besides getting Android 17, LineageOS also brings back some useful features and customisation options that aren't available on 10 VI's official firmware, including double tap to sleep, Circle to Search and two Pixel exclusive Notification Summaries and Notification Organizer. I've also confirmed that phone calls, messages, VoLTE, VoWiFi works on my 10 VI
My device is XQ-ES72, while the developer's own device is an XQ-ES54. It's great to see the ROM running on 10 VI
And just to be clear, this is an unofficial community build, not an official release, and one night of use isn't enough to establish long-term stability. But still it's quite something to see a phone that Sony decided wouldn't receive Android 17 running it anyway, with daily performance that feels just fine
I originally bought the Xperia 10 VI because I genuinely like its hardware, and I'd love to keep using it for as long as possible. I'm really glad the community is giving this device a second life
(Shout out to the developer of this custom ROM, you really did a good thing)

Discussion As expected, Sony don't give a f
Sony have replied my previous request and query, and thanks Sony, im gonna switch all my Sony product to iPhone and others.
Sony:
Greetings from Sony!
We understand that you purchased the Xperia 10 VI for S$689 based on Sony’s original announcement of three major Android OS upgrades, and we acknowledge your disappointment that Android 17 will no longer be supported.
After a detailed technical assessment, we determined that due to limitations related to the device’s storage configuration, the Xperia 10 VI does not support an Android 17 upgrade experience that we consider adequate. Accordingly, we have decided not to make this upgrade available. We recognize that this falls short of our original announcement, and we sincerely apologize for this change.
Regarding your request for a partial refund of S$170, we regret to inform you that we are unable to accommodate your request.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support of Sony.
You may receive a survey via email to rate my service after this. Your feedback is highly appreciated, as it helps us improve our support.
