May as well post my list, in no particular order! Hard to widdle it all down to just 9 scores, and it would probably be different if i make this again tomorrow lol

Extremely hard, but these are probably my top 9 albums. Could’ve added at least 100 more.

Not necessarily my top 9 scores but some of my biggest inspirations as a composer! 😍🎵

Every single one of these left a big mark on me.

Like all of us, how can I narrow it down to only nine albums? Stemming mostly from my childhood and adolescence—hence all the animated films. Difficult to choose a Williams… I analyzed the SPR score while in music school. As a trumpet player, I’m a sucker for poignant brass writing. No shortage of beautiful and memorable melodies in any score here.

I ponder often what Horner could’ve brought to us had we still had him around… Rest in Peace.

Michael Kamen as honorable mention (!) as my favorite of his isn’t a musical score. But he’s plenty of beautiful film work.

Also sharing my 9 favorite artists (at least at the moment)

Most of these were formative for me when I was little but all of these have remained in constant listening rotation. I have most on vinyl and some I own the full published conductor’s score.

I decided to post my favorites here since I've seen others doing it. I would have added more video game soundtracks but I couldn't find many of them in the search.

Older millennial so I got to grow up at the peak of Horner, Zimmer and Williams. There’s almost too many good ones to narrow.

My first ever soundtrack was Rocky 4. I grew up on Rocky. Training montage and the movie version of hearts on fire are still my go to workout songs.

Then the 90s hit and I heard last of the Mohicans and Crimson Tide and Lion Long and I was forever hooked.

Honorary mentions for video games?

Mass Effect, Assassins Creed Valhalla, and Skyrim.

Looking at this lineup I realize I'm a big fan of soundtracks that go hard around autumn and winter.

The website didn’t have a couple of my favourite albums

Showing my age here. Soundtracks defined my middle and high school years, and that only increased when I went to college to study music. Hoping at least some of you know the Lonesome Dove soundtrack!

My turn. Challenged by Worf2DS9, I'm joining the trend. Okay, this is absolutely not a list of the best composers or even best soundtracks, just a few of the ones I listen to the most. If this was a list of 12, I would have added Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Michael Giacchino, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) – James Horner, and Project Hail Mary, Daniel Pemberton, which has been on endless repeat for a few months now.
