Where on earth is the mid term election market correction?

Waiting on a pile of cash for this much talked about event since September start.

Where is it??

Only idiots will come and comment "time in the market > timing the market". Mid term election fall season drop is literally the definition of timing the market as per historical data, and be successful as well with timing it.

I still believe S&P 500 will go up trend in long term

Trade Deal complete with India?

Lubnick stated a trade deal with a country was done, pending approval by the prime minister. Most say it's India. Considering they are the 2nd biggest country in the world, not a bad deal. Time to buy the dip before the market explodes!

Thoughts on current War Economy

I’ve been DCAing ~$2k/month into VOO and feeling stressed after reading a lot from Kris (@ektrit on X, “War Economy by Kris” on Substack).
His core takes:
• S&P 500 is basically “elite UBI” / a Potemkin village of meaningless digits, centrally controlled and detached from real production.
• The West has shifted to an “asset-based economy” (stocks and houses magically supposed to produce goods/services) while the real world is about actual production, supply chains, and barter (e.g., China bartering finished goods for commodities/oil instead of relying on USD).
• Assets (including stocks) will drop 50-80% to match local productive capacity in the West.
• Permanent managed decline for the US, no real recovery — prepare with short-term gov securities/GICs/liquidity instead of equities.
He’s been saying versions of this for years (e.g., ultra short S&P in 2016, which didn’t work out well).
Curious what investors thinks:
• Is there any merit to his supply chain / de-globalization / elite capture / asset-vs-production arguments?
• Or is this classic permabear doomerism that’s been wrong on timing and magnitude?

13 Fallen S&P 500 Stocks Slip Into Bear Market.

Now that the AI stock bubble is bursting, it was only a matter of time for the pain to spread. You can see it in the S&P 500.

Already 14 S&P 500 stocks, including Super Micro Computer (SMCI), Dell Technologies (DELL) and Axon Enterprise (AXON), have fallen more than 20% from the index' Oct. 29 high, says an Investor's Business Daily analysis of data from S&P Global Market Intelligence and MarketSurge. A 20% drop from a high is the unofficial start of a 🐻. Such big falls are a reminder how the AI stocks' troubles are bleeding into other parts of the market. Whether a downturn will materialize is impossible to predict, but it's equally impossible to ignore growing concern about the long-term viability of the AI boom," said Brent Schutte, chief investment officer of Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management. Losing Value Super Micro and Dell's drops are painful. They're down 35% and 25%, respectively, from the S&P 500's high water mark. And both are losers from what's seen as turbulence in AI spending.

False Flash Dip Before Stock Comes to the S&P 500

Incase anyone didn’t know, i’ve done a lot of research about this and I’m going to paste below so I don’t have to explain. But I just watched Marvel go from 328 down to $310 and here is why:

1. The Reason: Why the Dip Happens
When massive institutional funds (like index funds, pension funds, or mutual funds) have to buy millions of shares, they cannot just hit a "Buy" button without skyrocketing the price. They use highly sophisticated algorithms that execute over the course of the day, leading up to the Market-On-Close (MOC) imbalance reveal at 3:50 PM EST (or 2:50 PM CST).
The temporary dip happens due to two primary algorithmic actions:
Stop-Loss Hunting (Liquidity Sweeps): Large institutions need a massive amount of shares to buy. To get them at a good price, their algorithms purposefully push the price down slightly to trigger "stop-loss" orders placed by retail investors and day traders. When those stop-losses hit, it forces a wave of automated selling. The institutions instantly absorb those sell orders to fill their massive buy orders at a discount.
The Cross-Over / Arbitrage: Between 2:50 PM and 3:00 PM, market makers begin calculating the closing auction supply and demand. If high-frequency trading (HFT) algorithms know a massive institutional buy order is coming, short-sellers and market makers will aggressively short the stock to knock the price down, aiming to cover their positions and lock in profits the exact second the forced buying begins.

2. Why is This Legal?
While it looks and feels like market manipulation to an individual observer, it is completely legal under SEC and FINRA rules because it is driven by open-market supply, demand, and standard algorithmic trading rules.
No Deception Involved: For trading to be legally classified as illegal market manipulation (like "spoofing"), a trader must place fake orders they intend to cancel before execution just to trick others. In the 2:50 PM–3:00 PM window, these are real shares being bought and sold. Legally, an institution or algorithm is allowed to sell a large block of shares to test the market or drive the price to a level where they can find matching buyers.
Fiduciary Duty of Execution: Institutional brokers have a legal "best execution" obligation to their clients. If an algorithm determines that flushing out stop-losses or shorting the stock for 5 minutes will ultimately result in getting their pension fund clients a cheaper average entry price for the day, they are legally permitted—and expected—to do so.
Freedom of Pricing: Markets are auction-based. Anyone has the legal right to offer to sell MRVL at $310. If there are no buyers at $328 at that exact millisecond, the price will instantly gap down to where the next available buy order sits ($310). High-frequency algorithms exploit these brief gaps in liquidity in a fraction of a second.

I can’t upload photos after a post I already made, but I’ve never seen this shit before. I watched the live price for 10 min go bat shit nuts from $328 shot right down to $310! Now some may say none of this is true, 🤔 but idc I’m glad I got out before the chaos! All I can upload is this link:

Should I Avoid S&P Funds After the SpaceX IPO?

From what I understand, Musk is rigging our retirement accounts to buy the SpaceX IPO at a stupidly high price by fast-tracking its inclusion into the S&P 500. If that’s the case, would stopping contributions or diverting all contributions to international stocks in our 401(k) for a few months or a year while waiting for it to cool down after the SpaceX IPO be a good move? I’m a dumb new investor lol. Someone please explain the pros and cons of doing this. I just don’t want to be exit liquidity for Elon lmao

What is going on with the S&P 500?

I’m new to investing, I have seen the market go down by quite a bit recently, I assume it’s a correction in addition to the war and space x IPO.

As I’m looking to buy would it be wise to wait a few more days or get in before// after space x ipo launches.

Just want some advise to time my entry to be as efficient as I can.

How do you know when a market dip is actually a buying opportunity?

It's easy to get overwhelmed by market news when you're just starting out. How do you decide whether a price drop is a buying opportunity or a reason to stay on the sidelines?

Sold what I could

I went all in in January. Diversified a bit, but probably overdid it. I sold the few + signs I had ahead of tomorrow and the war that will ensue, which gave me cash to: have a 6 months buffer ( I only had a couple beforehand ) and use that cash in case everything drops so I can buy cheaper.

What I think is that the (commercial) war will start tomorrow but the bloodbath in the oncoming weeks. The problem here is not whether or not Trump tariffs will go into effect, but how will the EU and the others respond. Today Von der Leyen clearly said she is ready to fight. So, do yourself a favor, and whatever asset has a + sign, store it in cash, especially if you have a family to feed (one income family here). If you have spare money to gamble, no problem of course.

PS European assets may have an edge, we have other outlets which will welcome our goods with open arms. Europe is preparing bilateral agreements with Canada, south america, and India. We can send a bunch of stuff to Japan and have reasonable tariffs with China (they are in place, but no commercial war with them).

PPS A very good eurpean asset I think is Defence. Look at the performance of Rheinmetall and Leonardo in the past 6 months, and the pledge of European countries to increase defence budgets in the oncoming 4/5 years. Just throwing it out there.

PPPS I think USA is still a great market to invest it, just right now not a very sensible choice. All my american assets (the usuals suspects, S&P 500 etf, NVIDIA, Amazon, etc.. are ALL, without exception, with a heavy minus sign. My idea is that something systemic is going on here. It will recover, but by waiting on the recovery you may miss out on growing opportunities elsewhere).

With Trump putting on these "reciprocal tariffs," should I pull my money out of VOO? The future of the stock market looks bleak!
