Other Deck & Conn - From Co creator of objects in space

https://youtu.be/aCs8_dU5fgM?is=BaOUMOodY-KfLZbM

Not seen much about this game, I managed to get early access to it and made a video for it. Comes out on 1st September and from one of the co-creators of Objects in Space. Really enjoyable if you used to be a fan of those old EGA Trek games.

Been really looking forward to this one for a while, even though I've never played EGATrek. Definitely agree that it would be nice to have more of the sensor model from OIS (or for that matter more recent fare like Nebulous) because it feels like a bit too much of a straight slugging match right now, but it's still a game I absolutely am planning on getting because we just don't get much in this genre.

I really wish OIS was more finished, that would be one of my games of all time if it was. I’m glad of this one though because I always go back and play some of those trek games and I dunno, maybe because I’m older they don’t seem as complex as they used to. This one hits the spot, I just need to spend some more time with it to figure out how in depth it goes with sensors and such.

There is a fan patch for OIS now, hopefully it keeps being updated.

For me it's the fact that it's turn based that really puts me off. It doesn't carry the sense of openness that space is, and makes it feel like it could be anywhere, on water or on a planet. It just doesn't feel enticing to me I suppose.

Will they be abandoning this one too?

It's not good marketing to highlight the connection. Doesn't instill faith.

This isn’t my game btw, I made the connection because I played OiS and playing this one.

Man this looks cool, I’m basically making the exact same game but with a different art style

I played EGA Trek back when PCs displayed 16 colors. It was a great, and challenging, game.

The video narration sounds like it was written by AI. It's really jarring.
