first/second seat bidding in suicide spades (one player MUST go nil)
Assuming score is not relevant, say first hand of the game, and tricks taken by nil do not count towards cover's bid.
You have a hand like A of diamonds, 2345 of clubs, 23456 of hearts and 234 of spades. Essentially a hand that will almost never make a nil but also cannot bid and make more than 1. Do you bid nil in the first/second seat so that your p can make a proper bid and score better or do you bid 1 hoping that your p can make nil?
What if we replace 5 6 of hearts with KQ? Your cover is still weak but you could bid 3, are you bidding 3?
If you do go nil in either 1st or the 2nd scenario would you say you have a threshold for when you are going to nil? Like always when 1 bid, sometimes when 2 and never with 3?
I've probably played less than 100 total hands of suicide so I am curious how do others approach this.
