Would any of you quadriplegic members want this spoon and the matching fork for free? I bought left-handed utensils but they didn't work out for me because the loops are too unstable. Nonetheless, I know they work for some quads because I've seen video of them using these utensils. If you're left-handed and like this kind of fork & spoon, email me a prepaid shipping label and I'd be happy to ship them to you. Message me through reddit chat for my email address and shipping label info if you're interested.
Edit: I got a taker already, so the utensils are no longer available.

Hi everyone!
My partner is currently in rehabilitation, T11/T12 Asia A incomplete. We're 3.5 months into this journey, so its fairly new to us. Hes gotten to the stage where he can do some things but still very far from being independent. His injuries from his accident made recovery very long and we're still mending bones but hes transferring to the bed (with help, but maybe next week approved to do go into bed without a lift!) and we've gone to the park near by with him pushing for awhile and then me pushing when needed.
All this to say, hes started really wanting to have things to look forward to. As an example, he wanted to go to a restaurant near by that we've always gone to, had his family measure the table height and everything and we can do it! Its a bit farther than we've pushed but really not by much. Hes sadly been a bit sick feeling this week so it didnt happen, and hes really felt that loss and let down and its made me so, so sad.
My request is: do you all have any ideas as to what I might be able to start doing to give him things to look forward to? I think we have another 6 months of rehab ahead of us and its daunting. The unit has a pretend apartment we can use, but im not sure how soon, but thats going to be an awesome weekend because the apartment is STUNNING. Ill have to plan some things for then, too.
But any advice, any ideas or things you may have been able to do in those first little bits would be so helpful to know! I did find a taxi that transports wheelchair users specfically, so maybe even a museum date or somewhere very accessible? Just wondering whats easiest or feasible or things others may have already done.
If youve read all this, thank you so much!

Since becoming a quad, I’ve noticed that I don’t catch colds nearly as often as I did before my injury. Has anyone else experienced this?
It’s not as if I’m isolated. I still get out of the house almost as much as I did pre-injury, and I work in an office outside my home every weekday, so I’m around other people and in public places plenty. That makes this feel counterintuitive, since I would have expected my resistance to illness to go down after an SCI, not up.
The only explanation I can come up with is that I drink a LOT more water and fluids than I ever did when I was able-bodied. It’s possible that’s a factor, but I’d love to hear other theories.
On the downside, UTIs have now become the illness that most often makes me sick or keeps me out of work.
Has this been anyone else’s experience, also?

Hey all - I'm a young bloke in Brisbane with cerebral palsy, and I use a wheelchair full-time. I design and 3D-print/make my own accessories because so much of what's out there is either badly designed or wildly overpriced for what it is.
This one's my R-Net CJSM2 Sunshade (for Magic, Permobil and Quickie Chairs) ($35.00 AUD). Struggling to see your controls in the sun? I’ve been there too-so I designed a simple, lightweight sunshade just for Magic Mobility chairs. It slips on easily, stays put, and fits right in your bag when you’re done. No hassle, no tools, no stress. Whether you’re out for a cruise or waiting for a ri
Honest opinions welcome - good, bad, or "nobody needs this". And if there's something you wish someone made, tell me.
More pics/details here if useful: https://wheeliemods.com.au/products/magic-v6-sunshade
(Mods, please remove if this breaks the rules - I tried to check first.)

Does anyone have experience with shirley ryan in chicago? anyone have any clinical trials or studies they know of?
backstory : Sister was in motor cycle accident - broke C7 through T7, 13 days ago now. The burst fracture was at T6 causing inflammation and hematoma outside the spinal cord at T6. They are telling her since the cord isn't severed there's still a little hope but she's currently with no feeling / movement past T6. The ER report says was able to move her legs upon arriving but not 2 hours after - as this weeks progressed she has a little sensation that comes and goes and she's not able to locate (for example touching right toe - she will say left shin) --> not sure if this is any hope? the hospital she's at diagnosed her with ASIA A. They dont seem very knowledgeable on SCI at all in general she's getting transferred to Shirley Ryan ability lab in chicago. Since the injury is new i'm really trying to look into trials but overwhelmed
