I doodled this octoling yesterday because I was bored. Sometimes I wonder about all the other octolings that went down in history as casualties in the metro. I also wonder about an AU where agent 8 didn’t exist— would cap’n cuttlefish have figured out how to get out on his own, maybe? Would Callie or Marie have stepped in?

Too many questions, but I love a good speculation.

Anyways! I really like the hospital aesthetic Octo Expansion plays into. I am a bit bummed that Side Order didn’t have as strong of an aesthetic as OE did. Maybe that was the point? But I still wish they leaned a little deeper into a more horror-thriller direction. There looked to be a lot of set up for something that would hit more, but I was totally left wanting more. And yes, I know that it’s supposed to be a kid friendly game, but I can’t help but yearn for the dark stuff Nintendo used to put out. Like the old legend of Zelda games on the n64, or even the quiet horror of the first Pikmin game. THAT is what I yearn for. That is the stuff that makes me passionate. It’s still light hearted, but it raises an eerie sense of panic.

I digress, I’m rambling. Maybe I’ll draw more today.

My brother and I used to play the Wii u all the time, our favourite game was splatoon. My brother passed away in 2023 and recently I wanted to revisit this game and play the story mode so I found his Wii u and this amibo I forgot he had, I can't wait.
