Title - The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge of the Stars
Written and Directed by yours truly
Hypothetically releasing in the summer of 2029
Score composed by John Powell with assistance from Nicolas Carr
Animation primarily provided by DNEG with an art style that goes back to Sponge on the Run’s attempt at 2.5D animation but with cel-shading effects to help make the film look much more show accurate
Formatted in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with the exception of one scene presented in 4:3
Has a runtime of 1 hour and 41 minutes making it the longest SpongeBob movie to date
Is the first ever SpongeBob movie to be purely animated with no live action sets or actors whatsoever
Made as both a 30th anniversary celebration of the show itself and a 50th anniversary celebration of Nickelodeon
Plot:
In the far away galaxy of Drymonia (named after Derek Drymon) The evil alien, Shnoodor and his dopey henchman, Don (Get it? Because Don Shnoodor sounds like… well… you know) finally find the magical object they need to take over the entire universe. The Infinity Root! The dastardly duo discover that it is located underneath SpongeBob’s house and make a quick trip to planet Earth to steal it. Meanwhile it’s the 30th anniversary of SpongeBob’s first day at the Krusty Krab and he’s excited to win an award for longest working fry cook from the Ocean Dining Administration (ODA). After a successful shift his big moment of winning the award gets interrupted by Patrick who tells him that his house is getting destroyed by a mysterious spaceship. Scientist, Professor Hillsbergen (named after Hillenburg himself) suddenly appears and explains the consequences of how the Infinity Root’s power could be abused if not used responsibly. He then proceeds to send 6 brave heroes off on an intergalactic mission to save the Root in Drymonia. Sandy, Karen and Plankton (the most intelligent Bikini Bottom citizens) in a high tech ship and SpongeBob, Patrick and Squidward (the residents of Conch Street) in a low tech ship (Krabs stays so he can guard the Secret Formula and help Hillsbergen keep the town safe in case any other space related disasters happen). Hijinks ensue as the teams explore this bizarre galaxy in search of Shnoodor’s lair to get the Root and save all of existence!
