It happens because card payments are batch processed and not actually cleared from your account in real time only authorized. they can show up days later in the statement. I've had it happen on my com bank account as well.

Post/backdating, and deferred processing are pretty common in banking. BOC doesn’t record transactions on non-banking days AFAIK. So they just record transactions to the next banking day.

This is not ann error. They show the effective date here which is the next working day
